One must remember a simulator regardless of the cost is still a simulator. When it comes to combat aircraft old or new there is always information not available to public. Combat simulators as well as civil a/c simulators are made under contract and info available to produce such sims. is and will always be top secret. What the public gets is what they (manufactures) are willing to give out. Our PC flight simulators do a great job to provide us with great features, entertainment and friendship, which is what they are meant for. I guess however that there will always be the, which one is better than the other threads. It still boils down to personal preference and enjoyment. Lets enjoy.:)

I don't OC the GPU is a factory overclock. I think I should be safe . You make a good point on the less ware and tear , that,s a good idea, thanks.. I should know tomorow exactly what they intend to put together for me, so I will keep an eye on the PSU. Will let you know what they think will work for me when I find out.. I get My computers built for me. I have given them some specs. to look for and they will pick a suitable case. The case may come with its own PSU. They know what I need this for and have always built a good matching system. They will match the Cpu to a mother board etc. They seem to like Asus, western digital , Coursair, Mainly the big brand names that give very little problems. I already have a very large Gpu cooler for the present graphics card which I think is still good.( I like nvidia cards),I do believe I asked them to look at the i7-930 instead of the 975. Ya, I know nothing is future proof, that's why I laughed when I said it. Basically one that will hang in there for a while. the main drain on the computer is Lockon. Everything else could actualy run on much less. I love Lockon to much.LOL. So would you go up to a 1000 watt PSU? Oh, I asked for the Evga geforce gtx285 2048mb ddr3 pic=e if they figure my GPU is going to be taxed too much.

Hi guy's: Been out of touch on hardware for a while so I thought I would ask if this would be a decent change for FC and future for a while. Planned changes: Mb= Asus p6t7ws Cpu= intel core i7-975 or 930 will be 2.8ghz or above mem.= corsair 6gb dominator gt pc3-16000-20000 mhz 240 pin 3 channel ddr3 New case= type unknown at this time. Keeping 500gb sata 7200rpm wd hdd, asus geforce 9600gt oc gpu, gpu cooler(arctic ice),2x120mm case fans, 500 watt psu, 21" lg 226wt monitor, x52 + rudder pedals, Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse, xonar ds 7.1 sound card. logitech wireless headset. lantec 160gb external hdd, lg dvd r/rw,c-r/rw, logitech web cam with Carl Zeiss lens, + the usual other stuff, printers etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Want this to be future proof for a little while.LOL.:D Thanks.

Tom: Is it possible to be able to use the Lockon default pilot and legs. If not would it be possible to have a template of the pilot. Love to have my own take on pilot and by the looks of some of the pilot mods so would some others. Just asking, don't slow up progress, for this. Can't wait to see her. Oh , question with F4af loaded and hitiles + DrStop pilot and pit, what do I have to do to load the new FF5 download?

Need a little practice first. Does not respond to input commands as fast as Lockon a/c. Just need to get the feel back again.:thumbup:

Ok guy's , got it working and it appears to be a 2d pit. I don't seem to have all the pilot head positions so got to check and make sure I have transferred all of them. All information was and is gratefully appreciated. Thanks to all of you. If there are any tips you think might be helpful would be grateful. Been away too long from F4AF. Got to agree with you there for sure. Simhq is about the only other place right now and no where near what Frugals was. I see a lot of simmers are using FF5. I have the download but have not tried it yet. Would like to get all this sorted out first before trying something different. Just getting back to F4AF so I have some reading and flying to do.:thumbup:

It's a folder with all the textures I need in it. It just will not load up. Even if I put textures in default folder.Trying to find more info on the pit. I think it is 3d but not sure.:thumbup:

Nice!! Looks very similar but I would love a better shot at the scenery. Hitiles looks a lot different than mine. geforce 9600gt oc. getting new system soon but this one runs Lockon just fine. What settings do you have.? been changing mine around but I still have some shimmer on buildings and in distance. I have installed the pit as I did before, but no go on the pit. I still get the default. I even loaded all into default and still would not pick up the textures.Thanks for your info. Terrain looks great.:thumbup:

Ihave just reloaded F4AF and I have hitiles and dr.stop pit and pilot for the F16c50. The problem is the pit and pilot will not load. I tried everything I could think of. I am running windows 7x64. Can someone help? Thanks:cry:

I will just add a quick response and it is for information only. First let me just say that I was a Simulation supervisor for Civil Aviation. Training New Air Traffic Controllers. So I would assume that our simulator was as close to the real thing as one can get. Multi-million dollar systems. My simple point and I speak from experience is that a simulator regardless of what it is and how much it costs, can never fully replicate the real thing. We come very very close but lets face it guys it is a simulator. I can show many examples of why a simulator can not react like the real thing but the post would be way to long. Enjoy what we have. Its fun, we get to meet lots of people and share ideas and get to do some cool mods. This is a great sim. and so is BS and a lot of others, but they are sims. It is for pleasure and in some cases training. We are very lucky to have a couple of Sims. from ED that show a lot of work so lets enjoy them, they, nor any sim. replicate Real Life, close but close is as good as it gets. Lets have fun guys and enjoy a couple of great sims. cheers.:)

Has anyone been using the trackir 5 with windows 7x64. If so could you tell me your opinion on this device. going to be using this with Lockon Fc1 and Fc2, Possibly. Falcon 4 AF. Thanks.:)

Very true!!. I will still support Fc1 for a while as there may be some members not switching to FC2. Why I don't know but I would assume there may be some, so for a while, I will try to do a cockpit for the 5th gen. a/c, as they come along, if the mod does not come with one already done.:) I would think there will be some very nice mods for FC2 in the near future. Over and above what is being done now to transfer some of the FC1's over to 2. Tools is what we need and it looks like we may be lucky enough to get some of them.:)
