  1. I had the same problems in that mission. Radioed my wingmen to attack at least a dozen times, sometimes when directly flying over the enemy tank columns. Finally they acknowledged the order and started to attack. I have no idea what exactly triggered this behaviour.
  2. Ok, thanks again!
  3. Thanks, Eddie. Is it possible to have the map in "up is north" mode centered on my aircraft and moving though?
  4. Quick question: is it possible to change the TAD so that the map orientation doesn't change according to my current course but stays in "up is north" mode?
  5. In mission 4 I start in the shelter, then after start up ask tower for clearance to taxi. "Negative." I've been sitting in my cockpit for 20 minutes, still the tower won't let me get to war. And if I tell the tower guy to screw himself and start off anyway my flight of course stays put in their bunkers... As much as I love the sim, the campaigns so far have been a rather anticlimactic experience. EDIT: The takeoff problem screws up the whole mission. Even if you decide to take off alone, your CAP (2xF-15s) will keep sitting on the airfield, while another pair of F-15s land. And 3 Mig-29s are inbound for you. Not fun.
  6. It's rather disappointing to see such bugs in a release version, to be honest. Especially since this is rather obvious stuff, compared to some of the more arcane avionics/systems problems. I would've preferred to have waited another month to let the team iron these bugs out.
  7. Mission 3 was kind of disappointing since my flight never even made it to the runway... taxi AI is certainly in need of some dev love.
  8. HOTAS CM down means pressing down the switch, not moving it back/forward.
  9. Of course I didn't do THAT! Thank you!
  10. I just noticed that I couldn't persuade a tanker to transfer fuel again once disconnected. I was clearly on the boom but no fuel transfer. I radioed abort, then contacted the tanker again and then could get fuel again, which is a bit of a pain since the tanker immediately breaks away after getting the abort radio call. Known problem or am I missing something?
  11. You can designate an SPI from the HUD. Make the HUD SOI, then simply slew the cursor in the HUD to the general location, then TMS FORWARD LONG to make that point SPI. Now use the TGP to refine your search. I use that method quite often when hunting for targets without JTAC or a nearby steerpoint and it works pretty well against SAMs, too.
  12. Flew the 1st Devil's Cross mission today. Contacted JTAC and he gave me a UMT location. Headed there and soon spotted a tank column and engaged, killed 21 targets with 6 MAV Ds and 2 CBU 97s. Wingman got himself killed without firing a shot... Got a mission score of 51 and moved on to mission 2.
  13. Sinky: That is correct, I retract the airbrakes before opening fire with the gun. re: the video: I would strongly recommend NOT to overfly a platoon of tanks, you WILL get hit.
  14. The way I do it (no AAA threats): fly at 10.000ft towards targets from behind (watch TGP), cut throttle, deploy airbrakes, dive onto targets at 30-45°, pull up at 3.000-4.000ft and break. I never get hit by tanks or those pesky BMPs that way and can consistently score kills.
  15. With CBU 87/97s I seem to get the best results by aiming for point #18 so far.
  16. In the release version screenshots are saved to ...\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\ScreenShots. That is for Win7.
  17. Actually, the HOTAS command to switch between TV/IR BH and IR WH is the BOAT SWITCH. China Hat forward short switches the zoom mode.
  18. Pffft... compared to what I recently saw an Koh Phangan the internet on Samui is lightning fast. :D
  19. I have a difficult time not recommending the HOTAS Warthog. For many years I didn't think there would be a worthy replacement for my MS SWFF2, but the Warthog is just that good IMO.
  20. Thanks, Viper!
  21. When I uninstalled the beta I made a backup of my old logbook. But with the release version there's no logbook file in that directory anymore, even though I created a new pilot. So, my question is: where is the logbook saved in the release version? :dunno:
  22. That statement shows such an utter lack of understanding of what DCS:A-10 is all about that it's simply mind-boggling.
  23. I've just finished the torrent with an average speed of 92kb/s, took about 13 hours. Will keep seeding for some time. BTW when I started downloading it showed only a hand full of seeders, right now I see almost 400. :D
  24. Guys, if the FTP servers get hammered, use the torrent file. It takes a while to get running but I'm currently downloading at 150kb/s. Let it run through the night and you'll be fine.
