  1. What a sweet surprise, thanks ED! ^^
  2. A guy on this forum posted a very nice control layout a couple of weeks ago. I forgot his name and take no credit for it, but I've uploaded it here:
  3. Just wanted to mention that I play the beta on a Core2Duo E6750@2.6 Ghz, GTX 260, 4 Gig RAM, Win7 64 bit system at 1920x1080 resolution with a mix of high and medium settings and the sim actually runs quite well, around 30FPS in cockpit with TGP on in most situations.
  4. 1st you have to contact the JTAC. After the usual 9-line briefing you get the radio option "laser on", which will cause the JTAC to start lasing the target. Switch the TGP to Laser Spot Search mode and the TGP will (should) pick up the lased target and move the crosshairs automatically on target. Now make that point SPI and drop the weapon in CCRP mode.
  5. Good idea, will try it out later this evening.
  6. With that system I wouldn't bother to upgrade any of the existing hardware. A new grafics card would help but then would be slowed down by the CPU. And upgrading the CPU will probably be problematic due to the motherboard. And the 4 GB RAM is not even fully used under XP. I'd get a new system, with Win7 64 bit.
  7. Ermmm... what's the problem with de-installing/re-installing? 10 minutes of your life lost? ;)
  8. Indeed.
  9. The true flightsim fan enjoys all kinds of aircraft, from a Fokker Eindecker to an F-22. :pilotfly:
  10. I have tested both 32- and 64 bit versions on my system and have noticed absolutely zero difference in FPS.
  11. For me that PAC system currently seems to kick in only after about half a second of firing. Whenever I open fire the nose of the aircraft shortly bobs up, then stabilizes. ATM I deliberately aim a bit short when opening up.
  12. Just press the ENT button on the front dash.
  13. You probably are. Trim, autopilot and TIR 4 work just fine for me. :smilewink:
  14. You know, there's a reason why we call it a simulation. ;)
  15. Tomahawk (with that blasted lenslock copy protection system) and shortly after that Gunship on the Amstrad CPC in '86/'87. My 1st A-10 sim was A-10 Tank Killer in '90.
  16. Same here. Other sounds work fine (and sound excellent!) but no radio voices.
  17. It's already in the sim. Just start the mission editor, click on "new mission" and select Nevada terrain. Voila, you can create a mission around Nellis AFB. Just keep in mind that the map is far from being finished.
  18. Your keyboard has two "windows" keys. One on the left side between Ctrl and ALT, one on the right side. Rwin= right windows key EDIT: Darn! Nate beat me to it. Again! ^^
  19. My 1st impressions? I've been playing flightsims since the days of Gunship in the mid 80s. And I have rarely been so fascinated with a sim as with DCS: A-10C. Despite the obvious bugs and missing/incomplete features in this beta version I am absolutely in awe with what the devs have produced here.
  20. Ah, thank you very much! Working now.
  21. Does anyone know why I'm prompted for login/password for the FTP server and why neither my account ones nor the forum ones work?
