Question for those that use Saitek HOTAS
algerad3 replied to Ramstein's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am not sure what happened, but they did release a driver version that created a conflict with using The x-52 pro and the flight instrument panel together. Also had an issue where the directoutput sdk did not include all of the functions. The latest drivers appear to give faster response to the Mfd on the x52 pro and flight instrument panels. -
Once a sending and receiving program is set up , it is not so bad. The X-52 pro can send and receive directly from the export .lua files using the dll. You just have to set up the data you want to display.

Getting settled in at work. Will have more working scripts soon. I apologize for the delay.

Setting things up is a bit easier this time around( I hope). Fip owners: Do not forget to adjust the timing of the saiteka10c script. at line 273 you will find this : "tNext = tNext + .525" This is the timing I am using for four "test " fips, i have eight and last time I plugged them all in I believe I had to set timing to .685. As you start the script and sim, measure the lag time from the sim and the gauges, also pause the sim and watch the gauges for continued movement. There is an active print command in the DirectoutputA10c script, if you have more than one monitor;move the lua command screen to a screen as you test and note the readout. Adjust the timings as low as you can without bogging down the script(hit pause and numbers keep coming). Ideally when you hit pause everything should halt immediately. With one to two Fips I was able to go as low as .16 (or close to that) up to four I went up about double. Then almost double that with 8. Your rig may differ. If the scripts crash adjust the timings. Other scripts are almost ready...Just need to add x52pro stuff.

Testers wanted Here it is the first of many. This is the new format I have been working on. First up, ignore all of the previous instructions. Here is the new set up routine: 1: Make sure you have "lua for windows" installed. It is free and can be found here :http://sourceforge.net/projects/luaforwindows.mirror/files/latest/download 2: After lua for windows is installed, find the saitek.dll (in the zip files) and place it in the following folder: C:\Program Files(x86)\Lua32\5.1\clibs. 3: To use these scripts, you have to install the Fip drivers. If you only have an X-52Pro, you still need the Fip drivers. If you have both, I am sure you have installed the X-52Pro then the Fip. Drivers are here :http://www.saitek.com/# . I am currently using X52pro :7_0_34_109_64, Fip :7_0_34_109_64 4: Now if, go to C:\Program Files\Saitek\DirectOutput. and put the folders A-10 Gauges and TITLE PAGES in the DirectOutput folder. (do not seperate the contents. This is where all the gauges .png files will be located. 5: Now we move on to User\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts. ( you may have to create that folder.) Insert Export.Lua and saiteka10c.lua into this folder. 6: Create a folder on your desktop(name it whatever you want) and insert Saitekstart.luac and DirectoutputA-10.lua. this folder will hold the scripts for other aircraft. To start the scripting, double click on CPIAS.luac. New : start screen. WHen you start the script you will see a start screen on the fips or "initializing" on the X-52pro. As the script connects to DCS you will see a progress message. When you start the sim you will be alerted to select page/gauge. After exiting a mission, the script will reopen the socket and allow you to start a new mission without having to restart the script manually. Fip pages functions: 1 none 2 Test button - press to operate the fuel gauge test. Right knob changes tanks to be read by the gauge. 3 none 4 none 5 Flaps - S1 raises flaps, S2 lowers flaps. 6 none 7 none 8 none 9 Altimeter - Right side knob switches from elec/pnue reading, left knob adjust Qnh. 10 none 11 none 12 Gmeter - S1 Gmeter reset X52 pro pages functions: 1-4 none 5 Altimeter - scrollwheel changes value. 6 vhf1 - scroll wheel changes values according to line 3 label. press to change selection 7 Vhf2 - same as above. 8 uhf - same as above. 9 Tacan - same as above. 10 Ils - same as above. :smartass: CPIAS 1.zip

I just thought of something. What I can do is send out what I have created as modules. Basically, I was trying to get everything done and send as a package but I realized that i could just send things out as an add on unit and describe the features here(on this thread). This will allow me to focus more on each individual modules and still be able to improve on things without the users having to go through too much grief. Give me a minute (I have an idea I want to add) and I will start putting up what I have done.
-
That's a strange one. t cannot find one of the values from the script. I currently do not have an old script, hang on for a bit and I will have the new ones out. Right now I am wiring the gauges for the new modules and should be done soon.

X-65F Pickle button seems to have died
algerad3 replied to Skyenet's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I hope you have as good a luck as I have had with Madcatz. I had to send one in because someone got rough with it . I bought another because I was shipping out soon after and I did not want to be without. Amazon sent me one straight away and I got it in three or four days, followed by the one I rma'd the following day. I also have the button issue you have on one of the joys, I have to press it down and wiggle it for it to activate. ( Glad I have the other one) Not sure what happened, took it apart and did not see anything. Any ways , good luck, I know how you feel about force sensing; I love it. -
Just tying up loose ends and wrapping things up. I know it has been a long time since anything new has been released. I think the next release will please many. Hopefully we can clean up this thread and go from "group play/create" to "full functioning scripts and wishlist. Moderators: This thread has gone on for quite awhile and the recent(relevant) information has been obscured. Is there a way ( when I am ready) to remove the old posting and start fresh?
-
Glad to hear you got it working. I am wrapping up new scripts , I will get those gauges revamped and working. I want to set up the gauges so that you can switch between pilot or co-pilot gauges set.
-
Megatherion, That is old, I need to correct that one(the dcs wiki) try this. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2044230&postcount=267 I would start by removing all the lua for windows installs. then follow the guide in the link. Let me know if that works for you.
-
That is a weird one. I had to hook mine up and double check and you are correct. Green for the first 3/4 and red after. I checked the set screen and found no check marks for reversing. My suggestion is to check the throttle bottom and see if there is any signs of dis-assembly. If I recall correctly the rectangle in the middle of the base should have a sticker cover the screw hole. If it looks like it was tampered with, then open up, Carefully and look for secondary(post production) soldering. I can not at this time think of anything that would reverse the lights, it is either on or off (controlled by sst) after that the led color is controlled by throttle position.

Directoutput wrapper Arturo, Here the wrapper we were talking about is attached. Now, I also want to report that I am getting close to releasing another round of scripts. ( I was hoping to have it done last week but, That thing called life. Just a bit more time and I will have functions and gauges for both devices and most modules ready to show. I will also try to develop a simple guide to creating your own gauges and exporting so anyone can create their own set up ( I can not keep up). I hope to see it out soon. do-vb6.zip

Here is the link to the saitek Drivers. http://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php Use 7-0-34-109, that is the latest and the one that was working better.

also look at this one for future reference.http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1920549&postcount=236

Landsraad59, I just reread that post and the following post. I believe what happened was that he had two versions of the drivers installed. What you need to do is un install all of the drivers and then dig through you program files and remove anything related to saitek. Go to their download site and get the newest drivers and install. Are you only using the x52 pro or are you also using the fips? Also reference this post. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1920549&postcount=236 Let me know how it goes.

For all of you X52 Pro users, what would you find useful to be displayed /controlled on the prop planes? I have not gotten any stick time on any of the modules lately and I am not sure what would be realistically useful. I have gauges completed for the fip's with controls for things as adjusting alt press, fuel gauge test and working on the clock features. just not sure what to do with the X52 other than landing gear lights, flap lights fuel warning ...etc. Hit me and let me know, trying to get the new scripts system out.
-
Just an update to all that is interested. I am still working (refining) on this project. So far , I have created gauges for the the Fw190, Bf109, the F86. Work continues to refine the other gauges as well. The X52 Pro side of the equation is coming along as well. The big news (to me at least) This script does not close when you exit a mission and will resume when you restart a new mission. No more restarting the script while switching or restarting. A revamped guide book will also be included when I complete current goals.

I used to live on the other side of D.M back in the days (late 60's earl 70's) They would always fly those jets over town and rattle the windows when the went supersonic. My babysitter's house was at the gates of the old graveyard and I would spend hours staring at all of the Hueys sitting there. Watching f-86's fly over would really take me back.

Trigger happy with "flare".

No, just install windows 7 64 bit os. You can then upgrade computer at your convenience.

It's all god my friend. This is still a learning experience for me. I do hope to have all things completed this year. And away we go !!!

Fixed? Well this has been frustrating. Took me awhile to even get to what you were describing. Then I had to try and track it down but, I think I found it. Try this version of the scripts. If it does not work can you PM me your log file (user/savedgames/dcs/logs/dcs.log) fixed script.zip

Fair enough , I will try something in the morning. Hang tight for a minute.
