  4. Maybe they were going to, and if the copy protection goes ahead as (supposely) planned, they will not. Maybe they seek to 'vote with their dollar'. Maybe they don't have the money to buy FC, and they're merely posting on a LOMAC forum. Shocking ideas, I know, but it might just explain why people would be reading the forum, yet voting no to buying FC. :roll:

  6. It would also put an incredible workload on anyone trying to create it. You have 5 options there. If you have a 'depth' of 5 missions, each with 4 different possible results, there's a over 250 missions there that need to be coded... >> edited after reading the above post properly

  8. VISA payment would be the best for myself... Paypal is a pain in the neck, and I don't trust them.
  9. Flares are extremely shader-heavy. With the current code, I think that it will be at least one more generation of graphics cards before we get reasonable FPS while using flares.
  10. If the specular reflections are applied via shader, it may well prove possible to (relatively easily), reduce the 'shine'. I shall investigate this evening, assuming I get to leave work at a reasonable time....
  11. Suggested settings would be anything that uses the updated files. I don't know what a fair number of them are actually used are - I simply looked at the code and at ways to optimize it (lots of co-issued alpha / colour instruction stuff was added, lopping off 1 cycle here and there). I definately one that changed cockpit reflections / scratches, because I remember screwing it up and really wierd stuff started happening with the colours. Very funky. PS 2.0 support would be great - especially if ED implement the exhaust blur in it... as you can actually do distortion effects loads faster in PS 2.0
  12. Look here. Mathematically exact replacements for LOMAC PS 1.1 shaders, that run faster. I have insufficient knowledge / time to benchmark them to see any difference, but I know they are faster - they do less processing, or parallelize existing processing. I have started a new job and haven't had time to work on the PS1.4 shaders that should see significant improvements in speed for Radeon 9500+ / GeForce 6-series cards.
