The F-14 uses the exact same launch method as all new aircraft since the late 60s. The F-14 was never a bridle launched aircraft. The launchbar holdback method is still in use today.

Love it.. really do.. but why why waste all that space and switches on the "ground power" switches which pilots DO NOT USE AT ALL. Those switches are wasted in a sim. Those are only for us maintainers to use on the ground. Why not remove them and use some other useful switches there instead other than going for the full replica when it's wasted space and switches.

Hell I bet most of us would be ok with a slight deviation in location to keep it inside the detailed map area. but yes 10000% yes we need a Naval Air Station and Fallon is perfect as the majority of the area is already modeled. We need an FCLP field as well. Fallon could fill both roles.

no issues here..

Wow troll much? Sorry but us US Navy guys fly CAP with US Navy aircraft not USAF ****.. I'm sorry in my time in we downed more than a fair share of Eagles and other "Air Superiority" aircraft with the little old C model bug..

having worked on them for many years they are indeed a little dim in the sim without a doubt. they are REALLY bright in real life.

Adverse yaw moment during taxi with high NWS sideslip angles
CVSiN replied to JaBoG32_Dirty's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Except in real life the NWS does not slide like that EXCEPT on BADLY worn or very greasy carrier decks.. on the beach or on a well maintained deck they just do not push like they do here in this sim.. 3 Med cruises as a Flight Deck TS/FC with Hornets A-7Es and S-3Bs and the only time they slip like this is when the deck is in BAD shape. -
4K resolution menu unclickable after update to DCS 2.5.3.21444 Open Beta

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
CVSiN replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
"Heatblur Simulations F-14 in 2018. Tune in on Oct 7th." Does this mean we will have an early release before the end of the year? -
Just kind of wondering as I was actually a bit surprised it wasnt included in the initial release. NAS Fallon is used when the Navy participates in Red Flag as well as TOP GUN and other advanced training and now that we have Harriers and Hornets and soon F-4s and 14s all the more reason to add a NAS to the area and one that makes sense. Any snowballs chance in hell of getting that? Either way now that the Navy and Marines are beginning to have such a large presence in DCS time for some key NAS and MCAS to be included.

being that I lived this life and this jet for 10 years of my life I feel like I'm 17 again and working the decks. Love this module love this jet. Being in Avionics and Armament I have a headstart on a ton of how the Hornet works. flew the real dome sim a few times in the early 90s and other than having a cockpit there this is 1000% better in every way.. amazing that we have this technology at home. VA-105, VFA-105, VFA-106 and VS-27 87-97 US Navy

Still no VFA-105 Gunslingers? the only East Coast Hornet squadron to win the Battle E 3 times in a row.. Over VFA-37 I might add... :p
-
Looking for a VFA-105 Gunslingers skin Served with them for 4 years from the A-7E days till the brand new LOT 13 Hornets.. really disappointed the team chose our sister squadron 37 to use in the game itself.. especially since we always dominated them in every competition :) looking for the 1990-94 version.

lol.. punctuation fail on the top line.. he meant ( and strangely enough I even understood) buy the i7 chip (COMMA!) then a graphics card and update ram.. lol.. nice catch on the "megs" hahaha
-
haha not quite.. but my bosses machine maybe ;) Ok.. like I said you cannot compare a flight sim to other products especially one that is as demanding as this one. you have arguably the best Flight model ever put on a desktop computer here.. that alone is eating up some math cycles on the CPU. You only have 2 gigs of ram as well which is very low by today's standards even for a Corporate office" machine as well as the video card needs a serious upgrade as well. your chip is also several gens old as well and is only a dual core and is not even running at the 3ghz mark. this is hurting you very badly as well. even if you were to upgrade video you would be CPU capped for sure. Launch Date Q1'08Processor Number E6500# of Cores 2# of Threads 2Clock Speed 2.93 GHzL2 Cache 2 MBBus/Core Ratio 11FSB Speed 1066 MHzInstruction Set 64-bit basically as a gamer and especially a simmer you are in dire need of an upgrade. Right now with Intel releasing the Sandy Bridge at a terrific performance level and a 300 dollar chip that shreds even the current gen Intel i7 1000 dollar extreme chip is the perfect time to save for that upgrade. My machine isn't all that.. even my CPU is now 2 years old and is already showing its age. the 2600-K I'm testing in the other box destroys my 920 in all performance tests and benchmarks. I generally upgrade 1x a generation including video and CPUs to stay current with the latest technology. now I don't expect anyone but us "uber geeks" (gamers and tech dorks) to do that but your rig is really showing it's age and most of the current beta's of games that are coming out this year would not run well if at all on that machine.

what are your specs then? I too am in IT (30 years) and my game box shreds the final. Smooth as glass and much faster than B4 EVGA-SLI-X58 main board (3 way sli board) Intel i7 920 OCed to 3.8 Water cooled proc with Corsair H50 12 gigs Corsair DDR3 1600 fast timing ram (triple channel setup) 2x EVGA GTX 460 EE 1 GBs in SLI 1X EVGA GTX 285 running dedicated Physx Corsair 850 Power supply Also testing on a Intel Sandy Bridge setup with first gen board on the 2600-k OCed at 4.0 also with 12 gigs of DDR3 1600 with a single EVGA GTX 580 and it's ice smooth as well. both on W7 Ultimate 64 It for sure sounds like your machine may be the culprit behind the performance you are getting. there are plenty of HD youtube vids out there showing flawless performance now. And also remember.. flight sims are VERY intensive on computing compared to regular games. alot more math going on.
