    F15E UFC

I hope so. Seems like an easy win. Replace the F-18 UFC and HUD panel and it fits right in, price it around 250€. They already have the stick and throttle grips and their MFD will complete the F-15E cockpit. I honestly expect this to happen.
  2. I honestly don't know. Almost all of my kit is from WW because they offer replicas with good quality for an affordable price. But these pedals I'm not excited about. I'm not in the market for pedals so maybe it is partially that. Mechanically they are similar to Virpil VPC Ace and very similar to the MFG Crosswind V3 rudder pedals. As far as price goes the difference isn't that big either. Pure rudder pedals about 20€ cheaper than Virpils Ace and 10€ cheaper than MFG. With damper the gap opens just a little more. MFG with damper is just 20€ more expensive and 30€ with Virpil. I have the MFG Crosswind V3 with damper and they are a blast. I just want to make people aware that there are alternatives that are not much more expensive that come out of the EU (Virpil = Lithuania; MFG = Croatia).
  3. Hey can someone with a neck for it try to replicate the colour grading of the beyond videos in a reshade?
  4. Hu... even more surprising. I never figured what they are for. The manual says not much about them except you could mount a cable clamp on it for the USB cable... that is if you got the newer version with a 90° USB cable. Honestly colour me surprised. Then why did WinWing never release a stand alone version? Hhmm maybe we will indeed get one.
  5. Well that sucks... If support won't send one and the Orion 2 ones do not fit I think it will be hard to find a replacement. It is probably easier to find a used Orion 1 base on ebay... Maybe ask them for a discount on a new Orion 2 base? Then again I would totally understand if you wouldn't want to support a company that can't supply spare parts a mere year after something becomes EOL.
  6. Oh okay that is unexpected. Found one: But it is the Orion 1. The Orion 2 has these plastic covers above the outboard screws. Could still fit... but probably fiddling.
  7. I would assume it doesn't fit the Orion. The Orion's USB port location is probably also an issue. I don't think this will happen. However in WinWing's discontinuation video for the Taurus there are a few seconds at the end which could indicate that they have replacement in mind: But that could also just be a fluke... Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to not see a unit like this anymore. The high cost and demanding mounting probably resulted in much lower production volume. Their Orion product line probably beats out the Taurus in terms quantity and profit by a huge margin.
  8. That I can confirm. The F-15 and F-18 grip stay inside the base footprint in terms of forward and aft travel. May I point out that both the F-15 and F-18 grips have a three way toggle switch on the outboard handle (countermeasure switch for F-15, exterior light switch for F-18) that sticks out beyond the base footprint to the side. For both grips that adds about an additional 20mm to the width to the outboard side. The F-16 handle will stick out of the base footprint in forward and aft travel as well as inboard and outboard. The rail system and guide plate adds about 22mm outboard and 28mm forward and aft of the base footprint. The F-16 grip itself will add about 45mm to the inboard width and extends about 55mm beyond the aft end of the base footprint in off and about 25mm forward in full after burner. In all cases the forward located USB port will require about 60mm of additional space forward of the base footprint to connect the USB cable with an acceptable radius in the cable. Happy new year.
  9. For the F-18 grip without finger lift kit it is 203,76mm (you can check that in the Orion 1 manual, the dimension are identical to the Orion 2) For the F-16 grip it is 245mm (you can check that in the F-16 handle manual). The F-15 isn't given but it will be very similar to the F-18. The inclusion of the finger lift kit should not change the value as it does not change the grip mounting height. Overall the value seems of low value as it is not really an indication of actual space requirements. For example the F-16 grip is moved on a plane of 245mm but requires about 370mm of space due to the handle shape and the detent mechanics. So be aware of that.
  10. Well you can reset the configuration in SimApp Pro with the "Restore default configuration" tab. Worth a try in any case. Other than that you should maybe check for a firmware or software update. When I received mine a firmware update was available and a few days prior to launch the SimApp Pro software received an update. The current firmware for the ICP should read 1.01. However mine never did any of that. I would assume a faulty display to be honest. It is probably a case for the horrendous support.
  11. Joystick Base2 2 means you have an Orion 2 base. The Orion 1 joystick base is called "Joystick Base2" and the Super Libra is called "Joystick Base1" Why they named it like this I have no idea. The solution for your problem: The reason you can not retrieve the current firmware is that afaik there is none in WinWings online system in the US. You can change the download server from US to China in the options menu clicking on the cog in right hand upper corner. Why it is that way I can't tell. There is also no firmware for manual download for the Orion 2 joystick base as far as I can tell. However I can tell you that 1.13 is the current firmware for the Orion 2 Base. But you can check that yourself once switched to the Chinese server. JOYSTICK_BASE1_APP_V1.55_20220720.wwtc <- is the current version for the Supra Libra JOYSTICK_BASE2_APP_V1.56_20220720.wwtc <- is the current version for the Orion 1 (!!!) base JOYSTICK_BASE2_303_APP_HW52.20_FW1.58_20230420.wwtc <- I have genuinely no I idea what this is for
  12. Is there any particular reason you do not want to run SimApp Pro? Besides that you may want to look into the app DCS UFC available for Android and iOS. That way you can use a tablet to simulate a digital ICP (UFC etc.). It works quite well. Tek Creation has an ICP and DED as well: F16 ICP (Integrated Control Panel) Controller DCS:Viper / FalconBMS (tekcreations.space) and F16 Falcon DED Realistic Immersion without a full cockpit Build (tekcreations.space) So does Simgears: F16 ICP Replica - USB Controller - Simgears - Flight Simulator Part Replicas for Gamers The obvious disadvantage to WW solution is the price due to probably low volume...
  13. Someone more knowledgeable may correct me: The rotary in the real jet is spring loaded self centering. It changes the rate in which the elevation of the radar antenna changes and is not attached to a specific antenna angle. Once released it returns to the center which is 0 rate and stops the antenna. Since the rotary on the WW throttle handles is not self centering it doesn't translate 1:1 how the real jet operates. Someone may correct me but afaik the antenna elevation in the F-15E by Razbam is also not changed by changing the rate but instead the rotary position is attached to spefici antenna angle. If I am right than this done because we do not usually have self centering rotary knobs on PC and it makes it easier for simmers to control the antenna elevation with the usually available hardware which is either buttons or an axis. The most accurate way to replicate how the antenna is controlled would then be the pure axis mode. Now you could use the combined mode but there is no point to the switches on the axis. The F-15E has no function attached to the end or center of the antenna elevation rotary and the switch mode is IMO mostly just a work around for other sims who would not support an axis for this function. But like I said I could be wrong...
  14. The F-18 handles install in the same way as the F-15EX handles. The F-15EX handle manual is newer and includes the finger lift kit. Maybe that is of more help. Other than that any video really should do:
  15. Okay... I'm officially stupid... I calibrated X and Y axis when I should have calibrated Rx and Ry... yea... okay solved. I even wrote Rx and Ry and then wrote calibrating X and Y... man I really am off the rails...
  16. I've recently bought the Orion 2 with F-16 Throttle grip and I got an issue with the idle position: When I go to the idle detent on the grip the throttle inside DCS is not at idle but about ~5% thrust. Checking the physical idle detent in SimApp Pro it is at about Rx 63103 and Ry 63070 ("about" because honestly the construction has some play here and there and with that big lever depending on the force applied you are somewhat bound to slight variations in the values as the sensors are so accurate). It also shows as about 5% blue bar in the travel range of the throttle on the test page. Since the throttle has a range of 0 to 65535 that means it's about 96% closed which aligns with my observation that inside the sim at idle it gives about 5% thrust. So... how do I fix this? I already attempted to calibrated the X and Y axis from idle to full AB but the values do not change at all. You are supposed to click on calibrate X and Y axis and then move the throttle thru the entire range from idle to max AB several times then click on complete calibration. It does nothing for the values at the idle detent... Always having 5% thrust is kinda "hard" in the F-16 as it makes taxing and slowing down after landing more difficult.
  17. The contents of this topic is IMHO self inflicted. It is caused by conflicting communication or lack thereof. On one hand it is "soon", "very soon", "sooner than you expect", "the year of the Eagle" etc. usw. on the other hand they refuse to communicate any time frame or date at all while at the same time ramp up the marketing. That the customer who already paid becomes frustrated by this behavior is to me to be expected. All I want is any official time frame or date. That's it. Maybe it is not up to Razbam and ED wants to, finally, update the stable version and wants to include the Strike Eagle right away in the stable version rather than just the Beta. But then just communicate that. I think people are actually able to comprehend stuff like this. All this secrecy and uncertainty is annoying.
  18. I would like to add that the new detailed area etc. only becomes available in the OpenBeta version of the game. Stable version has not been updated. That was my issue at least. I run stable so no new Normandy for me for the time being.
  19. That worked. For anyone, like me, not actually knowing how to do that the tutorial is here: I closed the support ticket as well.
  20. Yea I get why I can't get Normandy 2.0. Okay. But why can't I reinstall the original Normandy 1944 (or 1.0)? I opened a support ticked anyway. If Normandy 1944 was removed for stable I think that is a.) a mistake or b) bad practice. In both cases it should be fixed because when will ED update stable? Stable hasn't been updated since December last year...
  21. I bought Normandy 2.0. Wanted to check it out. Map in the game is still the same as ever, no update loaded. I thought well they can't seriously sell a module that's only available on the Beta version can they? So I went to the module manager and removed Normandy 1944 module trying to force an update by re installation. The game uninstalled the module no problem and restarted. I went to the module manager again and when checking for new licenses it finds nothing. Does not ask me to reinstall Normandy... does not even list Normandy anymore. It seem up and gone... Started full DCS repair > no effect. What is going on?
  22. Phenomenal textures. Really brings this is module up to date in terms of visuals. Love it.
  23. It is one of the worlds largest, if not the largest, Mod-Database/Host. Large files sizes shouldn't be an issue as they host large mods for many games. Mesh and texture overhauls quickly grow in size e.g. the The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project Ultimate hosted by NexusMods comes in close to 10GB. They are very reliable and trustworthy. The site exists since 2001 so they have now more than 20 years of service under their belt. Edit: There is one caveat though: Politics. You might want to contact a moderator before uploading textures that include swastikas... usually they are fine, especially in a histroical setting, but its better to check in before uploading something like that.
  24. If not possible may I suggest NexusMods: DCS World Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
  25. I'm surprised no one took you up on that offer.
