  1. Are you using it together with motion reprojection?
  2. Which tool have you been using?
  3. MANY THANKS FOR CREATING THIS! Do Mariana and Caucasus map still require F4 MOD to be installed for this to work?
  4. Thanks for your answer. I am quite bothered by seeing ghost plane whenever a plane is crossing in front of my nose with high deflection, or even seeing it with my own plane whenever I switch to the fly-by view. Is this due to the ghosting of DLSS or to the artefact from Motion retroprojection? Unfortunately I am incapable of running the game without Motion retroprojection. Many thanks again, y.
  5. Does this trick eliminate ghosting even when you have motion reprojection enable?
  6. I would if I would have a headset, unfortunately my G2 is finished, and I am in a market for a new headset and also a new GPU (coming from a 3080). Hence, I am questionning myself if I should buy a new headset without or with eye tracking, based on added performance and clarity, or if it is better to go with fixed foveated headset and invest into a more powerfull GPU. I was initially under the impression that it might be better to invest more money into a headset with eye tracking to use Dynamic Foveated rendering, than investing into a 4090 instead of a 4080 for instance, or a 5070 Ti instead of a 5090. But since I cannot experiment it by myself, I am putting this impression out there to be challenged by people who might have played with both Dynamic and Fixed Foveated rendering, and be able to assess the performance gain from one to another, as well as the overall impression of clarity.
  7. Thanks for your reply, very helpfull. Good to learn the possibility to live with a smaller center size with eye tracking dynamic foveated rendering compared to fixed. -> Hence the difference here would be 97% at 0.5 resolution vs 75% at 0.5 resolution. But I am quite surprised to hear that both dynamic and fixed accommodate the same 0.5 resolution for the peripheral area. I was assuming (maybe wrongly) that you could live with lower resolution on the periphery with dynamic eye tracking, since you would not really realise the resolution of the object out of your focus because out of your eye cone, while with fixed looking at the sides would result in a very blurry impression hence requiring to dial up the resolution of the periphery.
  8. Thanks for your answer, I was also considering getting an original crystal instead of the crystal light for eye tracking, despite the battery problems.
  9. Thanks for your reply. This somehow confirms my initial impression, although i have a hard time to find data which could quantify the actual difference between Dynamic and Fixed foveated rendering in terms of number of pixels rendered, or effective reduction achieved compared to full resolution for each solution. I was thinking indeed that you could potentially achieve much higher reduction with DFR than with FFR, because with DFR you can focus on the cone only and leave all the rest with very low resolution, and not realize it, while in FFR the resolution outside the cone still need to be somehow higher to not be shockingly blurry. Hence, if DFR with eye tracking can achieve 70% reduction of pixel (as per a post mentionned above), what can you reasonnably expect for reduction with FFR to obtain a similar impression of clarity?
  10. Thanks for your answer. Your point about different depreciations, as per how fast the technologies advance relatively, is very valid. I don t have a 4080, I currently have a 3080 and it is failing, and i will have to replace it. So, I am in a bad spot of having to upgrade both, my GPU (and probably my PC in general) and my headset (thanks to window 11 update), hence the question where to put more money, if investing in a super powerfull GPU or in a higher end headset with eye tracking. Regardless of what is available on the market, it also boils down to a question i asked in another thread: what is the reduction in % of pixel rendered with Dynamic Foveated rendering vs Fixed Foveated rendering for the eyes to perceive a similar clarity (although i know that in one case the head must move entirely, while the other case it is just the eyes moving).
  11. What is the difference in pixel rendered between quadview for eye tracking with dynamic foveated rendering vs fixed foveated rendering for no eye tracking headset?
  12. I guess i didn t express myself correctly, hence the confusion. Let s forget about the 5000RTX serie that is not going to be widely available at a reasonable price anytime soon anyway. I am not buying 2nd hand GPU, learning from previous mistake, with card not functionning properly, either abused through OC or through bitcoin mining. My question is therefore the following: Where is it more worth investing 1000 bucks for upgrading? What is the best value for the buck in term of gain of performance/visual? More GPU power making the jump from a 4080 to a 4090, to get more raw fps, with a Crystal light OR Getting a better headset with eye tracking like somnium instead of crystal light for instance, to be able through Dynamic Foveated rendering to lower the need for more raw gps power, using a 4080. Both correspond more or less to a 1000 euro jump. I play only DCS and IL2 in VR, amd have no interest for non VR, nor any other game. I personally really hated the G2 ultra narrow sweet spot and narrow fov, it was my first headset and very cheap when i bought it, so it was a good introduction into VR, but not something i m willing to repeat. Quest is totally out of question because of Meta. Y.
  13. I am also in need to retire my reverb G2. I am trying to make a decision based on performance as i will not be able to afford a 4090 or 5090. I am poundering if it is better to invest in a headset with eye tracking to benefit from Dynamic Foveated Rendering, or go with Crystal light with Fixed Foveated rendering. Any advice in term of experience and performance difference? I was initially assuming that it was better to invest a little bit more in a eye tracking headset and keep a 4080/5080, than spending a splurge into a 5090 struggling to render the full screen, but i might be wrong. I also cannot get myself to give any money to Meta and its ecosystem, for as good as Quest might be, as I despise its entire ecosystem. Many thanks in advance for sharing your expertise, Y.
  14. Which trackball are you using? With a left or on the right configuration?
  15. Hello, I have encountered a problem that happened for me only when flying Instant Action missions in Kola. It happened with all the planes but just for Kola map. The text with instructions provided at the very beginning of the mission when you are already in flights remains displayed on screen for the whole mission, regarless if I hit spacebar or not. Any idea why and how I could solve this? This is quite annoying to do all the mission with a text box on the screen. Many thanks in advance, y.
  16. Many thanks, that was indeed the AP, I never realized that these missions were starting with AP engaged at the very beginning!
  17. Let me start saying that I love flying the F16, and it most of the mission it works very well. But I have encountered some issues with some specific missions. For instance, the one that is more easy to reproduce because it is systematic, in Afghanistan Free Flight in Instant Action, the plane will take the initiative to roll left and climb all the time, even if there is no input in the control and regarless in which direction I am flying. I tried Switching to CATI and jettison all the equipment, and exact same behavior. Is it normal? f16 erratic control.trk I am attaching the track with the visualization of controls. Many thanks in advance, as it is very frustrated in certain scenarios. ----------- FIXED: I did not realize that these missions were starting with AP engaged. y.

  19. Interesting. When is Zen6 planned for?
  20. Hello, Today I had an interesting case, I emergency landed the plane succesfully, the plane was fully at stop and I was safe, no vibration whatsoever. I decided for fun to eject, and the seat started vibrating like crazy. I retried with the plane now at full stop on the run way, cut the engines, no vibration at all, and then I ejected, and got the full chair hard massage again. It works the same with most of the planes I tried in DCS: F14/A10/F16. Is it only me, or you can reproduce it as well? Looking at the log: 13:52:53.9588 Playing effectId: Canopy/Door Open/Close File: p1_14_0_2 gain: 1 13:52:53.9588 Sent: p1_14_0_2~1~100~1 13:52:53.9588 Sent: p1_14_0_2~1~50~1 13:52:53.9588 14.Canopy loss. I disabled canopy/Door Open/Close, and immediately stopped. I will have to keep this effect disabled if it gives so much issues with ejection (as I am ejecting a lot ) Would you be able to look at it, to see if it can be reproduced on your side? Many thanks in advance, y.
  21. My point is that while Persian Gulf has plenty of missions, it does not have any of the basic missions the other maps have: Cold Start, Take Off, Free Flight and Landing I understand from the conversation above that HB should be adding them.
  22. Does it depend in this concrete case on Ugra Media as the developper of the terrain or to Heatblur as developper of the F14?
  23. Persian Gulf is full of interesting missions for F14, but I am very surprised not to find the standard basic missions for F14 existing in the other terrains, such as Cold Start, Take Off, Free Flight and Landing. Am I missing something or these were never developped? I am surprised they exist for the other maps, even the more recent Afghanistan map. Many thanks in advance, y.
  24. New fog looks impressive. Hope it will not impact performance in VR.
  25. Has anyone tried the Viper with a FFB stick and original configuration?
