  1. Any update on this?
  2. Same issue was reported here as well.
  3. I tried this on both Persian Gulf and Cacusus. I have a group of 4 BTR's out next to the airfield, they always seem to suddenly pop-in into the radar image at exactly 10 nm away. This seems strange to me when the airfield equipment that is of roughly similar size is showing up brightly on the image from at least double the distance. This also means it is incredibly easy to spot targets as you have an immediate before and after image as soon as you cross the 10 nm mark. Video and track attached. Weird A2G radar behavior.miz.trk

  5. No, this is not an ED issue, please read. I tried the Penetrator -31 against the ammo dump building and they seem to phase through the structure and hit the ground underneath. This results in no damage. No changes in fusing seem to do anything. v1 and other bombs detonate on the surface and cause damage and a fire. I tried using the v3 on the Hornet and they functioned correctly with that aircraft. Video to follow.
  6. The bomb guided towards the center of the TGP despite a considerable offset from centerline on release. So, yes, the laser was on. Yes, there are multiple ways for the Mudhen to determine slant range. I've only seen the slant range units change to feet with laser ranging.
  7. See track. GBU-24 set up for ALAS continuous, I pick a random spot in the water to designate and climb up above 25k altitude. Observe Laser Arm light extinguish, and TGP screen "SAFE" I offset in order to induce error so that if the laser doesn't fire the bomb doesn't hit my designation point. I pickle, immediatly observe that I have laser ranging due to Slant range changing to feet, and the bomb guides perfectly onto my designation despite the amount of offset I put into the drop. No other entities in the mission. tempMission.miz.trk
  8. Track attached. In the track I use CDES to automatically update the designation with a slew and release, then I try to PTRK the bus in the track and the designation spot never changes according to the HUD. I even slewed and released back onto the bus periodically near the end to update the designation with that method but the PTRK itself fails to move the designation with the bus. tempMission.miz.trk
  9. If you have a TREL indication at the bottom right of the HUD while you have a target designated then that means the pipper is not showing the impact point, yet. Once TREL dissappears, you'll notice the pipper move up from the bottom of the HUD.
  10. Yep, third parties can tweak how the weapon interacts with the aircraft, but something like blast radius in this case is an ED thing.
  11. High speed is achieved by not only just having a clean jet but one that is defueled as well, you can cut 10000 lbs of weight just by decreasing the fuel to 50%. Also you need to have a specific climb profile as described above, thrust decreases with altitude but increases with speed, drag decreases with altitude. You need to balance the two in order to achieve the speeds you want.
  12. Tried a cold start, hot start, and an in-air start, with and without having the NAV pod already loaded. The boresight is always zeroed out, and no values seem to be stored anywhere, kneeboard or anything. I had one cold start where the NAV pod was horribly off boresight, the nose of the aircraft was quite visible throughout the entire flight in the upper left corner and isn't accurate at all at long distance.
  13. I gotta say, this was pretty poorly "announced". I get that the LITENING in its current state is a bit of a mishmash, but it's quite a large change and some people are worried about the specific implications this will have with TGP use in the Viper.
  14. Then present the contradictory evidence. If you're not accusing them of incompetence or dishonesty, then they have no reason to present you anything to prove they are right. You are the one that wants the change. You are making the claim that they are wrong therefore the burden of proof falls to you. If you truly believe that they are not dishonest or incompetent, then you should not have a problem with them making an internal comparison without revealing what their side of the data is.
  15. I gave it a shot at night and managed to take on about 5000 lbs. I'm happy with that.
  16. Ok, so, would you recommend I try to do it at night then with an F-15 or something first? I've been trying to stop looking at the boom as others have suggested and just focus on flying the aircraft in formation with the tanker. So, it seems a bit counterintuitive to reference the boom to me.
  17. Thing is, it seems to me that the light on the right os significantly harder to see then the leftmost one. Is that also normal?
  18. The left side light is ok. But, I can never seem to get visual on the right side light until I am already too far forward.
