RESOLVED thanks to a friend. I had the skins as .zip files like they are in the CoreMods folder. That doesn't work. You have to extract them to folders from the zip files.

I am having an issue. I am trying to use my saved games folder (Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\FA-18c_hornet) to put all my custom skins in, but none of them show up in game. If I move them to the DCS.openbeta\CoreMods\aircraft\FA-18C\Liveries I see them. I have changed the FA-18c_hornet to fa-18c_hornet and FA-18c_hornet and those didn't work either. I did have DCS World (non-beta) loaded when I loaded the beta version. After I confirmed everything was working, I uninstalled DCS World. I am not sure if that could be the reason... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That's why we need the Deltas. Same jet (for the most part as the C) but adds the WSO seat. Make it an expansion to the hornet. Just an idea. Not saying a Rhino wouldn't be a good addition, but that can come later.

Now that we have multi-crews within the game, it makes perfect sense to do so with the Hornet. Let's get the most popular jet, the F/A-18C, in the 2 seat version. Bring on the Deltas!

@AngryEchoSix That's what I did. What a royal PITA!!!!! My first skin didn't turn out too bad IMO. I am pretty happy with it, but boy did it take a lot of time to get it anywhere near correct!

@_mu110_ I created one over the weekend. I am not an expert by any means, but I am pretty damn happy with the way it came out. This is BUNO 161961. It was the first hornet in 251. It arrived in '86. The skin is not what it looked liked in 86, but in early 88. LtCol Bob "Dog" Maddocks was the CO in 88, just prior to us deploying to the WestPac, so I put his name and callsign on it to honor him. What a great leader! Unfortunately, we did not take 161961 with us overseas. We transferred it prior to. I uploaded the skin to the user files. Once it is approved, it should be available if you are interested.

I am struggling to align the text on the spine. Does anyone have a trick they use to make it work? Rotating the text on 2_DIFF by about 4 degrees gets it close, but then the antialiasing makes the text look different. I’ve wasted too much time on this without success, so I turn to you, the experts. Thanks!

@_mu110_ Any chance for a early 90s skin. I was a TBolt from 86 to 91. I would love to fly that version since it’s dear to me.

I just saw your post… I don’t remember anyone that went by Dutch. What shop was he in? @F18mech do you remember anyone called Dutch in 533?

I have really no intention of flying off a carrier with the F4U. I want to fly from land bases with lots of mission to fly from there. Rabul, Henderson Field, etc. Having IJN carriers and other assets is what I would want before the Essex, but that's just me. The 50's USMC CAP is a great idea too. Would love to fly that as well.

I have just about any button for the Hornet now, and I’m willing to share any of them or how I made them to help you learn. If you ask about other A/C, look elsewhere…LOL

Well, that couldn't have been any easier. Momentary Button/Display button type under Title Text Change on DCS Update Settings Total Fuel = 2008 Internal Fuel = 2009 Bingo Fuel = 2010 @Bailey I wanted to add a Chaff and Flare current count on a couple of buttons, but there are no indicators within the cockpit that shows this. They can only be viewed on a DDI. Is there a way to get that data to display on the SD?

@Baileywhere would I find the values for the fuel weights?

I've been looking to expand my SD XL to display fuel weights and current trim settings (one of the most difficult things for me to get a hang of, let me tell you). I searched through the hornet lua and I don't see anything for fuel weight. Is this something I can get through the lua?
