  1. Yeah, so I order them to move forward to their final objective, "Indiana", and to help the wait I hop over to the other JTAC to have some fun, before I know it, I get " Pine destroyed, MIssion failed" I go, "WTF!" and check them out, and I find a bunch of burnt Bradley hulks. The M1s then come by the Bradleys and they start getting shot at by the invisible T-72s as well, soon, they are destroyed. I then perform a ragequit ( whatever that is )
  2. The Home of the Brave ( U.S )
  3. Why did the Vaporware XSI guys bother to participate?
  4. Well, GG, I was trying to say that your beloved AIM-120s ( if they were launched ) did not save the F-15 flight from the hordes of Migs and save me from hordes of Hinds.
  5. Oh really, when I was flying an A-10 mission I heard a bunch of bullet-against-metal sounds and noticed that all my systems, including my engines, were down. I ejected and cycled through the F2 view and found a Hind flying over my burnt wreck. I looked up into the clouds and saw it crowded with MIgs. I then remembered I had a four-ship F-15C CAP with GG's AIM-120s somewhere, so I looked above the cloud layer and found it crowded with Mig-29s. Wondering where my F-15s where I searched frantically with the F2 button, I finally found the sole surviving aircraft landing in Tbilisi, missing parts of its wing as well as its radar and the whole aircraft was a wreck with bullet holes as shrapnel holes covering it. This was the improved A-10C 3D model with a better damage model than the A-10 itself. I could barely see the "Capt. Todd Pearson" or whatever scribbled on the side, it was torn up and beat up. I do have to say the fight was pretty unfair though. I only had two A-10Cs, two grounded apaches ??????, four F-15Cs, and two German SEAD aircraft, but the Russians had multiple Four-ships of Mig-29s, and Hordes upon hordes of Mi-24 Hinds. Sorry for bringing DCS A-10C to the Black Shark forums, but I needed to show GG that Eagles are not invincible. Cheers! By the way, vote for next aircraft as Tornado IDV, whooooooo!
  6. Good day, I have a Saitek X52 that I've used for just a year ( i've had for a year, just actually used it about 7-8 months of that ) that I got from Best Buy that is in the same condition that I bought it in. I'm not using it because I replaced it with a Warthog. It comes in the original box and comes with the cables I bought it with. ********NOT THE PRO VERSION!******** Update- the price is fifty dollars.
  7. I think the Mission ( Devil's Cross 01A )is a great concept, with having large, realistic force on force battles on the ground and air, but a couple of flaws stand in the way of this vision. First, the JTAC is not available, second, the mission is vey unfair, with my two hogs going up against hordes of MI-24Vs and MIg-29As. The CAP seems to be either unskilled or inaccurate, because they seem to takeoff, fly some circles away from the battle area, and then land without doing anything. The Migs then get me and if they don't, the surprisingly deadly Hinds will. The SEAD support is adequate, I have the luxury of not hearing whinings on my RWR from Buks and Osas because of the Germans. The friendly air defense is also adequate, once the Migs kill me and my wingy they are immediatley on the defensive from Patriots speeding towards them. Now, about air support, ( my job!) the A-10c is a wonderful aircraft, but it itself cannot stop eighty attaking vehicles ( two OPFOR reinforced battalions, right?) without at least some apache longbow help. The Russians on the other hand have Hordes upon Hordes of MI-24s that devestate my arty and C&C, where does this come from? Now, about order of battle. The Russians have two reinforced tank battalions, eighty vehicles in RL and it looks about right in the ME, but the U.S Calvary SQUADRON, not battalion is not properly represented. A squadron of Cavalry is supposed to have 3 troops ( companies ) consisting of two M2 platoons and two M1A2 Platoons, and a whole company of M1A2s as well, along with organic artillery and air defense. in Devil's Cross, two squadrons are represented by a Plt of M1A2s, and the other one is a group of six bradley sections. This is just the best review I can gie for the Devil's Cross 01A, thanks for reading! P.S. the composition of a troop and a squadron are very easy to find, ED :)
  8. That makes sense, hmm... I always do designate the red diamond as a SPI, but the problem is the tanks are placed far apart, so I have to manually sweep the camera left and right, this is problematic because the T-72's top in the game is well... cold! this means in WHOT the top for the tank and most of the tank itself is black, blending in with the pattern of black and white in the background ( shouldn't the ground be cold at night?) So it is very difficult for me to pick the target out, and I have to go through a long, grueling process to find it, longer than it should take. I'll try what you said about playing with contrast and brightness. Thanks
  9. Do you set the VNAV from the NAV/ATTRIBUTES pag or the steerpoint/waypoint page?
  10. Interesting, I will have to try this in Devil's Cross for the time being, looks like JTAC for this mission will have to be fixed manually or I'll have to wait for the final release. My primary concern with the Georgian Oil War MIssions ( that's what it is, right?) JTAC is that his IR pointer doesn't work, meaning that I have to pause the aircraft and spend time trying to pick T-72s out of the ineffective FLIR. WHen I say ineffective, I mean that in WHOT, the background is hot, as well as my targets, meaning I have to spend time trying to find them.
  11. well, I just wanted to get it noticed more.
  12. Excuse me! I have a TM Warthog and it is so much better than the Saitek X52 which I had originally. ( maybe that's because its serial # is higher than 10000)
  13. Is everyone aware of the problems in the two campaigns ? ( "Devil's Cross" and the other one that's not "The Shore" ) In Devil's Cross, the JTAC doesn't work, in the other one I am currently stuck on mission 3-1 chiefly because The two groups, "Mace" and "Pine" stop halfway to their objectives and don't finish their route. Also, in the same mission, ( which is "offensive CAS" by the way, these issues probably apply to all "offensive CAS" missions ) which is at night, I cannot find the tanks that the JTAC gives to me because his IR pointer does not work. This means once I slew my TGP FLIR to the target, I can only find the one right under my crosshairs, and then after I'm done with that one, I have to manually search for more of them, which is very difficult because the hot ground seems to hide the tanks, making life very difficult. ( hmm... it's 'White Hot" why is the ground at night which is receiving no sun turn up white in my FLIR?) I just wanted to check to make sure that it isn't me.
  14. moving to the general disscusion.
  15. In the first Devils Cross mission ( the only one I've been able to access), the JTAC isn't much help. I contact him at the CP, like the briefing says, and he says no further tasking availible, you may depart. Is it just me, or is the JTAC scripted wrong, or is the mission set up incorrectly?
  16. The JTAC seems to work with you only, and not interact with other flights.
  17. So you're telling me that if I set to N/T, the prox fuze will burst the canister and the ground effect will be correct, but the animation will not be?
  18. O.K. well the autopilot is always trying to get you back to the state of bank pitch and roll you last trimmed for, so whenever you trim, those controls are released, so there will always be some sort of jump. I just press and hold, so I can somewhat avoid the problem.
  19. I don't have that problem, everything works fine for me.
  20. You in theory should not fly without all the autopilot modes. You can temporarily disable all of them by holding the trim button down. That is what I do. The preferred method however, is to press and release, press and release, press and release, press and release, press and release... get used to it if you want to use this method. ( which is what you are doing now )
  21. YES PLZ! and keep working on that datalink as well! :)
  22. well, I mostly use n. 2 function because n.1 results in unintended jumps from the flight regime, while n.2 is mare smooth.
  23. Shamandgg- interesting, I gave up flying the thing because I thought it was not modeled ( combat ) well enough and will wait for the pro pack to come out, but still a great add-on for FSX.
  24. THe datalink still needs work?
