  1. Is this competition limited to photoshop users?
  2. @Spirale SRS should auto-connect when you join the server. IP: 141.94.200.37 Port: 30201 You can find all IPs and other informations also in our Discord https://discord.gg/4ya
  3. The thing is that those strategic raids you speak of went to Germany, not to the small part of France that we currently have in the map. We can't let them fly off the edge of the map. We will have some a bit longer range raids when we get the map expansion with the Paris area. But if your dream is to fly 4 hours long Ramrods to Germany then we need an even much bigger map first As for the P-trap furball, this will all but disappear once we get the new map. The different and much more realistic layout on the Normandy 2 map will cause the focus of the battle to move further south-east, and the longer ranges will make tactical flying more important. Finally, the long range from the German spawn points will meand that Germans will very seldom venture to the P-trap anymore. However, as dictated by the map and theatre we are working with, our focus is clearly to simulate the epic actions of the tactical 2nd TAF and 9th Air Force, less so of the 8th Air Force with it's strategic raids to Germany. We can't have people move and hide our ground targets, since their position is marked on map and briefing as targets. That would be unfair for the pilots. And on top of that, ground battles are quite terrible for performance, so we rather provide better peformance for our flying players, which are most anyways
  4. Currently combined arms can be used for anti-aircraft guns only. We may build some special combined arms tasks in the future. But there is too much potential for exploits for having all our ground targets controllable. Yes, SRS helps a lot. It is not used actively by all players, but we are focussing heavily on promoting it's use, since it improves gameplay a lot. It just makes much more fun if you have a way of connecting with others, and you hear where action is going on on the server. And you can ask for help if you are in trouble
  5. @Spirale Hey there, So in general since this server strives for realism, finding enemies will be more difficult than on more dogfight-themed servers. A couple of suggestions: - Make sure you are actively using SRS to communicate with others. Most engagements you will find because you hear someone calling it out on SRS - Approach people to fly together. Flying in a flight of two or more is not only much more fun, but also increases your spotting capability a lot. - Carry out mission objectives instead of just doing CAP. Escorting bomber raids is a good way of getting into a fight, as is doing ground attacks.
  6. Yeah the British were not the most creative with their paint schemes But even among such standard schemes there are possibilities to make liveries that look so much better than the default. Take invasion stripes for example, if those are hand painted in several layers, they will look so much more realistic and cool than what we have in the default.
  7. Is the competition restricted to photoshop users, did I understand this correctly?
  8. The Mossie is the module with the least skins in the existing default pack, only 3, I think choosing that module for the competition makes sense.
  9. I think the tone of the conversation should rather be that in addition to specially beautiful, creative and fancy paint schemes, it would also be really nice to get some standard period- and theatre-fitting liveries. These may be less fun to make by the artist, but since we currently don't have a single livery in the default livery pack that fits the 2nd TAF during the summer 1944 Normandy campaign, it would be greatly appreciated to get some through this competition. So in short, a large panoply of different skins is great, and summer 1944 2nd TAF schemes should be part of that ideally.
  10. Stunning! Fantastic work on those airfields! And I am super happy that we get Saint-Andre-de-l'Eure
  11. Yes that would be great. There will be 10 choosen liveries, so there is room for some fitting to the theatre and some from other places and times. Ideally there would be at least three historically fitting ones, with no invasion stripes, half invasion stripes, and full invasion stripes to cover the different periods in the ETO.
  12. I would also like to raise the artist's attention to invasion stripes. During June 1944, Mosquitos involved in the Normandy campaign had full invasion stripes top and bottom, and during July and August they had invasion stripes on the lower half. For our server for example, the presence of invasion stripes is critical.
  13. Awesome initiative, more Mossie Skins are greatly needed! For the livery designers, please consider making changeable bort numbers, since only those liveries can really be used.
  14. Especially also since Ugra has announced for the new map several airfields which were the actual historical operating base for units whose accurate liveries are proposed to ED for free in the aforementioned livery pack.
  15. Adding some accurate historical and period correct liveties to the default Anton skin pack for the first time since it's release would awesome for the launch of the new map. Much better than for everyone to have to fly on the new beautiful map with some old, half fictional, 1942, or Eastern front liveries
  16. @ButcherBiird Within the squadrons and area that is relevant for us (France summer 44) they received the A8 mostly only in Mai or even in the beginning of June. Given that the EN modification was validated for the second time and officially in April, and it was an easy field modification, it seems very likely that the vast majority of A8s got immediately fitted with it when they arrived at the squadrons in late Mai or June.
  17. I absolutely concur with this request, for ED this would be a way to improve the quality of their product for free and alleviate some of the deficits in ww2 aircraft liveries. To further add to the points made above, we currently have only 5 liveries to choose from for the FW-190 A8, because only those 5 have changeable bort numbers. Among those 5 one is a livery of a squadron which was only operating on the Eastern front in summer 44 (2. Jg54). It also has a squadron marking band, which they only got in autumn. Another is a paint scheme from 1942 and 1943 (JG2 Generic). A third has a cowling painting which was only used until spring 1944 together with camo colours which were only used from late autumn 44 onwards (the JG1 one). Then there are two nearly identical plain skins. These are ok, but have a camo colour which is rather early war, one of the colours use should be darker in summer 44. Furthermore, only one small ground attack squadron was flying with plain camo liveries during the invasion, so these skins are not satisfactory either.
  18. This couldn't be any better, something for every taste and scenario! Awesome, thank you very much!
  19. Looks nice, but during the war cities were dark at night and not illuminated due to the strict blackout that was enforced in Europe.
  20. Can you try to select a default global setting in DCS ("low", "medium", "high"), restart DCS and then revert back to your custom settings? This seem to have fixed it for another player.
  21. Looking stunning! Any news on Dreux airfield, is it still being worked on to add it?
  22. It's reported internally at ED, but I have no more news than that at the moment
  23. A trigger has to evaluare the condition every second, otherwise how would it check if the condition is true without evaluating it. But once it is true, it will fire only once and then be inactivated, hence the type ONCE. As for the example of the waypoint action, it's likely that there it's the same, the trigger will be started at the waypoint and then behave öike a normal trigger.
  24. O believe this works as intended. Triggers are evaluated every second, so every second you have a given probability (defined in RANDOM X) to trigger the action. So with this you can make the timing random, but it will eventually happen. If you want to make something happen only sometimes, you need to use "flag set random value" in a separate trigger.
  25. I was able to replicate this bug. Will forward it to the ED team
