Hi there. I see you use slew on your mini-stick. I have never gotten to make this work right in either Black Shark or A-10c. If I use the DCS profiler it will most of the time not recenter properly. it will "stick" VERY OFTEN somewhere on the x-axis between 70 and 5 percent off center whenever I release the ministick. This results in the diamond flying off into the distance if you are not carefull. Because it thinks its still being slewn. I have given up on setting ministick to slew and I use it now as the trimmer by assigning keypresses to the left and right axis on the x axis in the G940 software and offcourse the same applies for the y-axis. I have to set up a 70 percent deadzone and someone else has luck with dividing it into 3 bands and so on. What have you done to make this work correctly? I am using the latest firmware. Thanks

Question about Air 2 Air training mission
kingpinda replied to kingpinda's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Hi there Ok I don't have the official documentation but according to the beta manual it states this: Figure 478. TGP A-A Target Point Track 7. To initiate an auto-track of the target, press TMS Forward Short. Upon doing so, a tracking gate box will surround the target and the TGP will go into POINT tracking mode. 8. With the target being tracked, you may then wish to set it as the SPI by pressing TMS Forward Long. Once SPI, you will now have the SPI locator line on the HUD to help locate the target when not in the HUD field of view. You may also automatically slew the AIM/CATM-9M seeker to the target with the Slave All to SPI command by pressing China Hat Forward Long. PAGE 571 I don't mind there not being a box or diamond present if the real a-10 has this same "deficiency". However in above explanation it states: Once SPI, you will now have the SPI locator line on the HUD to help locate the target when not in the HUD field of view. The SPI locator line on the HUD is not present. I remember reading somewhere to a similair question that airborne targets cannot be set to be SPI. This is not the case however because I was able to set it to SPI and then slave all (being the AIM/CATM-9M seeker) to SPI. So all in all I am now able to find my locked target again by slaving the seeker to SPI. My question has been changed to the following: Should there be a SPI locator line on the HUD when the (point tracked AND set to SPI with TMS forward long obviously) airborn target is out of the HUD's FOV, or, is this an error in the manual. edit: Should this thread be moved? I'm becoming aware that this is not a training mission issue but inherent to the avionics/weapon systems. -
Because of this thread I went to youtube and watched my favorite SIM: LHX attack chopper lol. EGA. We jumped from a XT 8086 to the 486dx2 so it being ega i must have played it on a 8086 with a 20 MB HD which we stackered to 40 MB. Though because of the HD increase the MHZ was halved from 12 MHZ to 6 irrc rofl. Bugger me... Actually I'm tempted to install dosbox now :p

edit: Lol sorry for kicking this topic :p Didnt realise it was 4 months old.

Not sure but I think it says so in the manual also that the "analog" radios don't change. What is not mentioned though is that the digital uhf radio does change visually to the active freq. But yeah no surprise since its digital :) you could have a knee-pad with the presets and its freq. ready. you could also start spamming the channel yelling:"Hello Hello? Who's number is this???" Sadly I have been ignored by the AI so far though... There HAS GOT to be a pizza delivery place somewhere though right? :/

Hi there, I was wondering if the tgp Air to Air mode was implemented as intended. I was doing the air to air training mission and it asked me to use tgp in aa mode to lock a su-27. When slewing the cross onto the su on the tgp screen and tms up to lock it i noticed that there wasnt a diamond or indication present on the HUD. Only the little dot on the tgp screen in which direction the camera was watching. Accidently I overflew the Su-27 and was having a hellavu time locating the SU again. I had to fly and watch the tgp screen where the dot was positioned. I had to have the dot bang on in the middle of the screen and scan the skies through my hud. some time after i saw a pixel through the hud which was the SU. I tried setting the TGP to SOI and then setting the locked su to SPI but all never made any difference to my hud info. I had to resolve to pixel spotting while closely monitoring my tgp screen to get the directional dot dead on in the center. Am I doing something wrong? I can not imagine that this system would not allow a diamond or box on the hud to monitor where my air to air lock is located. Furthermore when I tried to lock the second SU in my tgp screen I had no idea how high or low the camera was looking. Just the general direction it was pointing to.in the manual it states that when first used it will be located 45 mils blabla and dead on in front of you. But afterwards its guess work. Thanks for reading this :)

The first joystick with hydraulic feedback
kingpinda replied to Frazer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Aah that explains it. I contacted them last year september or so for the second time. They would let me do a review on the paccus hawk but I never received it. Forgot about it untill now. They mentioned that the hawk was postponed due to revision. But money always plays a role so it seems. I hope they will succeed. Holland is a small country and I would be oh so proud if my fellow country men will come up with a HELLAVU device :) Been seriously looking at that french site which makes replica's for a few crates. The BF109 for instance. Can't remember the sites name.. but man that looks wicked. I would really love to have such a stick and pedals. I wonder if i can modify my G940 so it will be a longer stick... probably the forcefeedback will be weaker with a longer stick... aah well.. I will wait and see what the sim world will come up with these next years. aah found the french site: http://www.valiant-studio.eu/tarmac/html/en/hangar.php So you basically need the mechanical base and a stick. - Innovative technologies for forces management and the realistic reproduction of the sensations of a real device (no return to zero) ... guess I have to mail them to find out more about this force management... -
Curiousity about trim & AP channel authority
kingpinda replied to Sulman's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hmm yeah i might try flying like that. So i take it whenever you do a turn: You hold down trim, use cyclic to turn maybe throw in some rudder, ease out of turn get your new heading, centre rudder and then trim release? I'll try practicing with this. BTW before 1.01 came out this was being discussed *somewhat* : Quote: Originally Posted by lion737 The easy fix for the rudder trim is not adressed ???? So, if you set HelicopterTrimmerZoneRudder = 1.0 - you don't need to return pedals in center at all. The above answer was from USSR_Rik - ED Team I've tried this today but no effect. Weird that USSR_Rik would comment with this while this has NO effect whatsoever on FFB Joysticks.. At least not that I noticed. -
Curiousity about trim & AP channel authority
kingpinda replied to Sulman's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I've been playing this sim on and off from release but I still have to find a way to decently trim... I have the G940 HOTAS from logitech and its forcefeedback. I have some issues when trimming that my rudder trims also and when the rudder trims it will be multiplied by 2. So I have 100 procent more rudder than when i started to trim... I'm using a command someone long ago posted so it will reset the rudder after trim. that way when it notices my feet i only have to wiggle a tiny bit so the sim rudder will be in the same position as my feet are. The only downside is: With this modified trim command I can't hold trim! because it will register: Trim pressed, Trim depressed, z,x pressed. So when ever i hold trim it will automatically follow the command and the command will be executed in a few milliseconds no matter how long I hold the trim button. Anyone have any tips or insights how to overcome this? I just want to be able to use trim like its supposed to be used without my rudder going full left when I trim with half left rudder. -
Hi there, Don't know if i should put this here but anyways: Could a Admin or someone PM me how I can get access to the beta forum? I've bought pre-order beta DCS a-10c and it states that I know have acces to the beta forums. I believe this isnt the beta forum is it? Because when I click the link in my mail access to beta forum it states that i don't have privileges to view the page. Furthermore several people have posted here links to pdf's or other info and when i click that it takes me to a forum thread which i'm not privi to read. Do I need to register my serial with the forum or somesuch? Please PM me the procedure. Thanks

Will the Beta use up one of my activations?
kingpinda replied to WarriorX's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I've installed the 64 bit version of the sim and activated it. Then I came to realize that trackir wasn't working. Soon i found out this was due to naturalpoint not supporting 64bit yet. So I uninstalled A-10 with the uninstall option in programs and reinstalled the sim with 32bit support. I didnt need to reactivate the sim. so yes. don't clear your registry and you'll be fine
