  1. Sorry cichlidfan - just for you info: Original Post Martin...
  2. There is a small A10C BETA module for DCS World - HERE (very bottom of the page, below the 4 main 1.1.1.1 files and above the Torrent links) If you have already activated your original A10C (the one that can be at most v1.1.1.1) then simply install the Beta module by running it. Be aware there are a number of Beta bugs in the DCS:W version of A10C at the moment. You can keep your original A10C v1.1.1.1 copy around for now if you want - space allowing :) If you want to transfer your controls that is currently a manual process (you would have to inspect the relevant files in your Users/%YOU%/SavedGames A10C folders and add the changed portions to the newly created DCS:World ones for A10C. These old config files are NOT to be dropped straight into the DCS:World A10C, as there are newer features in the DCS:World files :) Martin...
  3. Re-installation of just the game software won't use up an activation - these are stored separately from the installation itself. A full OS wipe, on the other hand, would require reactivation (possibly even major hardware changes - like motherboards). Martin...
  4. Back when the TM:WH was released - several customers had issues with the throttle portion when powering on/off their computers. Several attempts were made to try and tie this down to particular motherboards or chipsets or issues with the early firmware in the throttle. Some people had their throttles fail at this point (possibly due to the device losing it's firmware) - others had them fail when a newer firmware was released and they attempted to update to this firmware. "Bricking" merely refers to the process by which an item fails to complete it's firmware update correctly (in this case, the Warthog throttle) and then will no longer perform it's original functions. New Warthogs should already come with the newest firmware and thus should no longer exhibit either the power on/off "bricking" (again - the loss of throttle function due to something untoward happening to the firmware at this point) or the update mechanism one. Any better ? :) Martin...
  5. Indeed it has - since there's an entire section for it on the main website - HERE :) Martin...
  6. Blaggards won't SELL me a copy yet though will they - argh :D Martin...
  7. And the answer is yes, yes he will :) But only from his purchased aircraft ;) Martin...
  8. You only need to own the modules you wish to personally control - if you only want to fly you only need to buy the modules for the aircraft you wish to fly. No tank driving aspirations ? No need to buy Combined Arms (but your human tank drivers - the ones you want to target - will need to own a copy of CA to drive tanks) :) Martin...
  9. You know - if you buy it - you can admire the cockpit detail first-hand ;) Just sayin' :music_whistling: Martin...
  10. The people saying they like the idea of a trainer are also customers (whether "mad to want this" or otherwise). Since all the work creating the trainer aircraft is work they would have to do for the "full beans" jets that you're interested in - why do you think they're daft to do one - when they can re-use this early work making the jet you want AND get paid by their other "mad customers" for the jet you don't want in the meantime ? :) Different reasons have been given by lots of people, but pretty much every developer has said the same thing "we're going to make an easier airframe/trainer/whatever to learn the ropes - which some people will like and pay for at the end, helping us with both knowledge and funds while we continue to work on the bigger deals". I think I'd be happier getting paid once in a year and then some more in 2.5, rather than just one lot in 2yrs and nothing in the meantime - matters in business ;) The rest of these opinions are people living out their fantasies. Dunno about you but everyone seems to have their own ideas about how to spend their money living out their fantasies - not my place to tell em they can't, just so I can get my freak on earlier ;) [Edit: Great - took WAY too long to answer and now look at all the same stuff there is! Ah well, still valid I guess...] Martin...
  11. The Hog is too slow for that :P Unless you were at 50 to begin with, that is :D No problem - once you rip it's wings off with missiles it will pass quite quickly through 10m ;) Martin...
  12. "I think I'll call it 'Bomb' - I wonder if it'll be friends with me..." :music_whistling: Martin...
  13. Hehehehe! Excellent:megalol: Martin...
  14. Special Delivery for EtherealN! I really want to say something but...:megalol::megalol: There really is nothing to say except - here you go EtherealN :D Wait - I can see it - it's just peeking out from behind Panzertard's original model... bless ;):music_whistling: Martin...
  15. What if we just change the firmware slightly - Rep instead of Ban would work well - yes ? ;) Martin...
  16. Amen! Uhuh - you say that now - wait til your 100th cup :D Martin...
  17. I dare say we could do a limited run :music_whistling: You'll be flying that jet before you know it - way things are going around here :) Martin...
  18. Order at the usual places ;) Martin...
  19. Interesting stuff :) The 2nd and 3rd papers are both quite well reduced examples of attempts to model flight response to standard inputs, seemingly to provide exrta real-time safety and instrumentation system ideas for aircraft. I like the non-airflow-dependent modelling in the middle paper (they use it for ultra-high speed and transonic flight modelling, where the system being modelled may not have useful access to live airflow information). Problem you would have is that they are all designed for in-envelope flight data - at altitudes outside of ground effect and in most cases with no extraneous elements on the aircraft (gear retracted, etc.) - so a flight model for general simulation use would have to have extra functions to cover these other aspects of the flight regime. Anyone not too bothered about actual maths should take a look at the 3rd one - some general information about stores available (at the time of writing) for the F16 - look at the pretty pictures! ;) Thanks for those - very interesting :) Martin...
  20. Are you remembering to turn OFF nosewheel steering at around 70 knots ? :) Martin...
  21. I believe thats called COIN. ;) Or Crop Busting! :D
  22. A quiet life, more stick time, the same as the rest of us ;) Martin...
  23. That's what Templates are for in the ME though (there's an example USA Patriot site in the ME if you go there in DCS World - probably in standard A10C/KA-50 v1.1.1.1 as well) :) Martin...
  24. Blender is a bad example to pick for your argument, as a long while ago it was a payware product that fell into disrepair. One of the original developers then got the community to pool their resources (to the tune of €100,000!) to buy the rights to the software and make it open source. It won't be going back any time soon :) In terms of capabilities, it's not primarily a game modelling tool (although there are strides in that direction, with included modules for physics and a game engine and so on) - different software packages have different capabilities throughout the software world and Blender is no different. Would still be nice to have EDM export for that and others :music_whistling: As to OSS packages competing with their closed source/payware alternatives - that's an argument for another day (and a different forum) Martin...
  25. I don't see THIS key wearing out anytime soon :P Martin...
