I did the unguided bombs training last night and it was flawless. There were a few times when I hit the spacebar to advance, where it seemed the "training" was doing a catch up but the lag time was not bad at all. It was very well done

UPDATE. The book has been spoken for.
-
It's a very good book, but I doubt i would read it again at least in the near future. Maybe what I should have done is trade it for A-10;s Over Kosovo. It is supposed to be online but can't stand reading it that way. Amazon is selling them dirt cheap so will order it soon. Speaking of books, I love fiction that is based on real life experiences. Anyone know of any authors that flew the A-10 that might have written something like that?

I'm going to stay with the continental United States. Sorry, as that is what I said and I am going to stick with that

I just finished reading "Warhog, Fying the A-10 in the Gulf War," by William L. Smallwood. Thought I would share it with someone who doesn't have this and would like to read it. Offer is only good in the continental US as it is so much easier to send. Won't cost you anything, just send me a PM with your name and mailing address. I'll try to update this soon so you know when it is gone. On another note, though it is very different I ordered the pilots manual for the A-10a that has been declassified. I never flew it in the Lock On series. The only time I previously "flew' the A-10 was in A-10 Cuba but at that time my computer couldn't handle it either. Any one have this? Still it should be interesting.

I am not sure if this has been posted before as it has only been out a couple of months. I searched and didn't find, but if it has already been posted, my apologies to those who have seen it already. Really takes hold now that many of us have been doing some aerial refueling. http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123216494 I noticed the last two threads I started have been moved. No problem with that at all, its just I thought if it is about the A-10, it should have been where us A-10'ers can see it. Like as much as I love aviation in general, I have once focus and that is the A-10, not the Su whatever or the F-16. But, I am learning, being new to this forum. I'll go and see if there is an area that gives some guidelines about posting new threads and the areas where they are supposed to go. I do appreciate immensley the amount of work that a moderator does. So thanks guys and (gals?) ARE THERE ANY OUT THERE?

Ok, so I have been reading about MP since the very first days I picked up the sim. I am totally at zero with regard to MP; I do have Teamspeak and have many online hours with FSX. That is my only experience. Here are some questions. I set up my account and went and opened the MP and found about 6 different groups or servers going on. I think I know how to join, and some of you have alluded to just jumping in. A little scary as though there are many, many helpful members in this group, there have also been some that are so experienced in the Lock On series from the beginning (I AM not) that it is more than intimidating. 1. Is everyone on Teamspeak? And if so, how does one find out what the settings or numbers are? I certainly can't type and fly this A-10 at the same time so the chat thing is out of the question for me. 2. I noticed that there was some training going on. I beleive it was 4 people that were together. This is what I am looking for. Anyone thinking of this for future? 3. I know that the MP as well as much of the beta is still a WIP. I have a tendency to think I might wait for the final version, but that could be months. I've been trying to get a couple of my FSX friends involved but they just want to fly around and look at scenery. :smilewink: Fact is, to me the A-10 is better than any aircraft I've flown in FSX and I own at least 20 payware aircraft and 5 times that in shareware. Just flying this beauty is worth every cent to me. Dropping ordinance is a plus 4. This is not a quesiton, but I have looked at many of the online squadrons (actually there are only a few in the US time zone) . Some have an open invite, if there are any that are going to form, I'll be watching and waiting. I must have other questions and I have scanned and read many of the posts. I'll continue to keep watching and will also ask away, thank you

Screenshots of Feinting I went up to 30,000+ feet and being low on fuel I kept on climbing until I ran out of fuel. Screenshots are as follows: I eventually ejected.

A10C IVS (Instructional Video Series) - by Tyger

Ran this mission a couple of times and it just gets better and better. Well done, and thanks again -
Nicely done. The only thing disturbing (and you certainly don't have control over it) are the weeds or vegetation that are present a couple of times. And that might just be because everything else looks so realistic. I Love it!

Not knowing how it really works at all, I put them on the outer pylons. They were supposed to be red in color (I had tried a blue earlier) and they still show white. Once I turned them on, they kept on throughout the whole flight. Couldn't shut them off -

Another great video Tyger. I know it has been asked before, perhaps not of you specifically, but if one could make or post a mission such as this where we could practice. I am one of those challenged when it comes to making a mission. I've done a number and without any instructions or guidelines, for someone who had never done before it really is a hit and miss. Lots of us out here in the same airplane--er boat. Thanks for any consdideration from anyone. I won't give up though, never. -
In the United States this is our Veterans Day and I want to thank all our Veterans for having served. I know there are many of you out there, so thanks. Serving with you was the best part of my life. And for those Veterans of the many other countries that are represented by membership in this forum, your service is appreciated just as well. Thanks to you also

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)

Nothing new here, but posted in another thread where I have had about 6 attempts at getting fuel and no luck yet. I'll get it one of these times. -
And why should one consider buying a Warthog Thrustmaster which will cost about 1/3- 1/4th of the cost of a darn good computer (US $) ?? Kind of hard to justify
-
Thanks for the missions Ells228, now I have 3 missions to practice with. And also thank you Druid and all others with my sometimes many questions
-
Trying to fly the tanker and not the boom. I am on about my 6th attempt now and the closest I get is careeming it off the nose. Last few times I have went invulnerable but for some reason my tanker disappeared after I hit him. And I was invulnerable!. Have put the boom thru my canopy twice! How is anyone else doing?
-
That is great news. Thank you sir.
-
Thank you. I will take a look for it next time up.

Thank you Kylania. Thank you. I had this mission downloaded and the other one which was/is called aarsimple. I tried both and finally went into mission editor and figured it out. Now, i have been looking for the key command to open the refueling door (or whatever it is called). The manual doesn't say, a printout of keyboard commands has "R" for refueling and "RLCtrl" for toggle refueling boom. I have made contact with tanker and the boom retracts or extends but have to figure out how to open door. Thanks
