I've looked at the squadrons, every one of them and more than twice. What I find is that you cannot join them on the server unless you "join" their squadron. I hope that makes sense. Guess what I am talking about it is a "trial" run so to speak; . How about an open time slot of a willing squadron or just some experienced online flyers that would be willing to take us newbies on? For example on January 27, and 28 for a period of a couple of hours; an invite to all who want to give it a try. A PM to someone to get the password for TS entry- and entry to the server, then just some introductions and etc. I know there may have to be restrictions on numbers because of the problems with too many pilots. After introductions; perhaps just some simple flying from point a to b without having any mission so to speak. If one has to targets they want to expend some rockets, gunfire or mavericks- maybe that could be a part of it, but nothing detailed. Just a simple indoctrination into multiplayer. Just some thoughts, it probably has been done many times in other sims. Or should we wait for a final release?

There have been many good points made and I've tried to keep up with them on this thread. Also the thread about the multiplayers locked and etc. I can understand why a group going through training and testing does keep them locked. However, having never done any online flying with a combat sim (many hours with FSX group) how is someone who is tentative like me, have a chance to know what online is all about? I know there used to be invites to sit and listen in or join in a flying session without joining a squadron, but again, what about us new people out there? I've many hours in single player and enjoy it alot, but sometimes I just want to get up and fly with a real person. My good flying partner in FSX wanted to join me in A-10, but he is very ill. My other buddies I used to fly with in FSX are not interested. All the movies and pics I have sent them, they still want to mosey along (is that slang still used) in their Cessnas' . Maybe someone (maybe I will do it) should start a thread where we ask and allow newbies to have an area -and I believe it was just mentioned a couple of days ago- could hang out and fly together. I use Teamspeak but have no idea how to find or open a new channel. Anyone have any ideas? So at this point- I remain 100% offline, but with a desire to go online. My last 6 or so checks of the servers in the last week showed me that everyone was locked. Maybe I missed an opportunity. Thanks for considerations

I believe in the most current beta release, a jettison of stores results in a CRASH.

Beautiful. How do you come up with the fog? I know we have the different weather options but don't see fog. Are these early morning flights, and thence you get the fog? Thanks -

various from A-10, But what the ? These models must still be a WIP? The A-10C is from a mission by Grebs -
I took an unusal amount of time in the outside view looking at the great environment when I should have been going thru the startup procedure. SO, looks like a problem on my end. Thanks

Just tried the new SP Hawg Hunt 2 that you provided. Especially like the new camo version. One slight problem maybe? My wingman never joined. I saw him on the ramp and first look at him he had begun to taxi, but an F-16 was in his way and they were both stopped. I would ask for him to rejoin and he would answer with an affirmative but never moved. Subsequent checks saw that now another A-10 was stopped behind the F-16 in the traffic jam. I will be trying it again in a few hours and maybe it was a one time occurrence. Will let you know if it clears. Without the wingman I still had a great time, though expended all my ordinance and still had a pile of targets left. Great stuff.

Wondering if anyone enjoys making skins that would make one for me? I was/am a member of another group (Over Flanders Fields) and we have some guys that love doing this and some like me have no idea of how to start or really wish to give it a try. Just wondering if there is someone who might be willing to give this a go? It would be very simple in nature. Send me a PM if interested. Thanks

Great mission. Just finished it also and what I found amazing, after I put 3 bombs into the runway and there was no danger of landing; I landed and went over each crater purposefully. You could actually feel the tire hitting the hole and the jolt or bump while in the aircraft.

I can't wait to give this a try. Always look for updates to your missions, Grebs. You are keeping us on our toes. I know you've had requests for certain scenarious. The one where one would have to take out some hangars, runways and etc that has been suggested, would be a great one. Also keep in mind if we were to find a train that was moving. It was mentioned weeks ago in another thread (can't remember) and Ii think the discussin was that a moving train could not be found. I've seen trains parked with military equipment loaded, but is it perhaps because we have our "traffic" turned to low? Has anyone found a moving train? Thanks again

Just watch it undisturbed. No explanation needed. Even if you never wore the uniform or saw a second of combat you will appreciate what you see here. http://biggeekdad.com/2010/01/tango-mike-mike/ Viet Nam , Iraq and Afghanistan vets will understand this short video clip. Heros like thismake you proud.

Scene From One of Greb's Mission Thanks Grebs for some great missions. This shot is from the mission CAS Convoy (latest version) with a great immersion factor. Sometimes its hard to go thru the startup because it is so much fun glancing around at the vehicles, security guards and etc. -
Another mission, Well done. I really enjoyed it and will do the night mission next. Thanks. +1

Thanks much

When I tried this last i avoided waypoint 2 and 3 and set a course for 4. Don't know why but I also did not contact the JTAC until I had been flying for about 15-20 minutes. I got a mission to take out the structures/bldgs but Ii was having trouble with putting in my coordinates. I did finally find the correct target (using labels and maps) and completed the mission. I couldn't go on as I had to quit at that time. You might want to give it a try just for kicks

I was just looking over missions and the one made by Geskes called Wake Up Call sounds very interesting. But it was made some time ago, maybe when we had Beta 2 or 3. wondering if anyone has tried it with Beta 4? I will be going ahead with this later on but until I can get away from chores around the house i am at ground level:)

I haven't unpacked it. When it is saved to my folder, it says it is a rar file. I then copy it to the missions area and cannot run it. So what gives with that? -

EDIT. Tried it and it still doesn't work. I put the whole folder in missions and nothing happens. If i click on that it just takes me to sub folders. When one makes a mission and saves it for himself, it is saved as a .miz file. At least for me. What happens to the rest of you. Is it not saved as a .miz file? Thanks -

Do you mean the folder that all of the files come in or just the mission file itself? I believe I have tried either way and it never workds. I'll get back to again, but I am not sure?? -

dane48 replied to -C.O.U.G.A.R-'s topic in User Created Missions General
I would really look forward to this but have one request. Could you please put it in a .miz file? I tried everything and cannot get your first version unpacked to play. That goes for all files unless they are miz files. I know others have had problems; I know it has been explained how to do it, but I have been unable to get these missions to play unless it is a .miz. Thanks for your consideration -
I'd like to take a look at that Smokey. Do you remember in which mission or campaign you saw that? Thanks
