I have a different headset but for me, I put on the headset and enable link cable which displays a menu of things I have ran before. I start DCS from there or I lift up my headset and mouse click the icon.
-
A box comes up that says: Wrong video card Please plug your headset into the same graphics card as your primary monitor. Never seen this before, nothing has changed on my pc that I know of. I played it last night in vr with no issues. Anyone else getting this? Quest 3 RTX4070ti 64gb ram 5TB m.2 i7-10700 Using link cable as always

Says all I need to know about you. Have a good day "Karen"

My settings: Quest 3, resolution default in app tray tool: left and right eye set to .70 link setting 400 bit rate and 3646 DCS: 1.3 pixel density this gives me very clear gauges in the Huey which I fly 90% of the time my system specs: i7-10700, 64gb ram, 2tb ssd, 1tb M.2, RTX4070ti

Is there a way to increase the narrators volume? I can barely hear what they are saying. I have set each of the volume controls in DCS audio menu 100% with no luck
-
I recently re-installed from scratch 2.9 and started playing worlds apart. The audio from the narrator can barely be heard. I remember not having this issue in other campaigns. What setting do I need to adjust, seems like the music setting if I turn it to 100% then I can barely hear the narrator. Could be my fresh install or maybe I have a setting somewhere set wrong. Thanks for any help!

I have a quest 2 (Q3 coming today yay!) and have been using the link cable, if I don't have that cable strapped down to the headset in a couple places it desyncs and DCS crashes when moved on accident. I normaly experience this when putting on my noise canceling headset on over the quest and somehow moving the link cable just a tiny bit. I see some people mentioning using air link or virtual desktop. Can someone give me feedback on what they have tried and what works best for them? I know one big advantage to using the cable is that the headset battery is being charged or maintained while using (I have one of the charging link cables) but the major downside for me is when it gets moved and DCS crashes.

After reading another thread, wow! Some people. Please do not take my question as anything against the developers or the new FM. I kNOW the problem is I have to learn the new model and what’s changed.

I bought the gazelle right after I bought the Huey, i have done 90% of my time n the Huey and 10% in the f18 or a10. I’m feel very comfortable in the Huey, hover, transitions, sling loads hardly ever crash anymore. i saw they recently updated the gazelle so I thought I would give it a try. all i can manage to do is roll over and crash. Then crash and crash. Can’t seem to take off or hover. I set my stick to 26 and then 30 so it’s less sensitive at first just like the Huey but to no avail. It immediately try’s to roll over and any amount of correction isn’t helping. am I missing something very fundamental with the new update? When I first got the gazelle a couple years ago I had no problem hovering or taking off. any comments welcome!

I'm sorry I don't understand "shifter?" Heres a video discussing it: You can get the unit on the big A website for $50 If you look around there is some tutorials where people have printer a box and added switches and wired them into the controller in the handbrake. I think I even saw a shady job where they taped a button box to it and plugged that in to the pc as well.

I had an x-52, which was great, so I thought I would buy the x56 because all of the extra controls would also make flying the a-10, f18 better. But in the end the throttle was just too stiff to use as a collective so I put the x56 in my shed and went back to the x52. I bought a usb handbrake last year to try as the collective but I have not taken the time yet to figure out a mount. Anyone else try the handbrake?

So it’s not something I’m doing or not doing, it’s a bug in dcs? That means I’m not a total noob pilot! Thanks for the reply.

Multiple attempts now and I can’t get past mission one where I have to orbit the building while wolf 1 lands and inspects. I orbited for 10 minutes, then 20 and tonight until I ran out of fuel! What triggers this to go on? Yes I am orbiting clockwise. It’s a huge throw something factor when you spend an hour to get to the part that you can’t get past and must start all over for another attempt. DCS: suggestion, code the ability to save current position in a mission to continue later.

VR settings (ASUS ROG Strix G10, RTX 3060, Quest 2)
DCoffey replied to sBinnala64's topic in DCS 2.9
using the OTT set the FOV multiplier to 65 or 70. This someone explained to me causes stuff that you don't see in the headset to not render, this gives a good boost in FPS, I started at 85 and checked that I saw no difference and just kept going down by 5, when I got to 65, I noticed a slight black box effect on edges so moved it to 70. that's the sweet spot for me on my Quest 2. -
Turns out the problem was with some new dimm modules. Took out the new 64gb I had just put in and put the 32gb back in and problem solved. its weird the problem surfaced only when entering vr so I naturally thought it was because I monkeyed with the dlss file thanks to all that replied!
-
Well aren’t you just negative. You tried it on your system with your settings and it didn’t work for you. For me DLAA on my 4 series card was a huge step up in getting rid of sparkling, jaggies and a nice increase in fps for me in vr.

I knew it, I knew it, So I copied the FS2020 DLSS dll (3.5.10) into DCS (bin-mt) and it crashes as soon as I get into VR cockpit (many tries), so thankfully I backed up the original dlss dll (version 3.5.0) and restored it and now my DCS crashes every time when I click "play" on the start screen. One file, I changed one file and put it back. what am I doing wrong?
-
I saw a video a few weeks back on YT about using DLSS swapper app for MSFS, I did and selected the latest version and it made a big difference for me (4070ti) VR so I wondered if dropping that into the bin-mt folder would work with DCS but I was to scared too try since I had just spent a lot of time figuring out my best settings. I didn't want to rock the boat so to speak. I am glad to hear someone tried and it works. I'll give it a whirl this weekend and report my findings with my system setup. Left skid low.

I am not very knowledgeable in this area, but since DCS uses DLSS 3.5 without frame generation and I have a RTX40 series maybe thats why everything looks clearer / sharper for me?
-
You may be CPU bound, I have a 10700, 32gb, rtx4070ti 2tb SD and the 2.9 release was game changing for me in VR, everything was clearer in the cockpit, I settled on .5 on sharpening everything turned to max except shadows. solid 72fps in marianas when I was getting 20-30 I hope you work out whatever your issue is. 2.9 MT is awesome for me in VR
-
It’s been a couple months before I found time to fly around in my uh-1 and wow! I’m getting 72fps in VR at marianas. Visuals are sharper might have to turn those down, gauges are easy to read. what a difference MT and DLSS has made. I’m going to start those campaigns again now that it’s playable. Congrats on your hard work. Rtx4070ti, oculus quest 2, i7-1700

I 2nd that. you make my fell old. My first aviation related was p-51 on a coco which was as basically a line for the horizon and a few pixels for the runway/planes. Then it was the first Microsoft flight sim. Lol more lines and circles but the sky was a different color than the ground
-
when I was using my RTX3060ti I noticed that setting the pc resolution to the lowest settings imrpoved my VR FPS, also I was running at 1.2 pixel density, is there a reason you are using .6?
-
Update: I bought a openbox 4070ti with a $250 savings, I am so glad I did. I now can run DCS on max everything, also increased the bitrate and now the cockpit is crystal clear in VR on the quest 2 and its at 36FPS solid, I think thats because I have the refresh set at 72, I may try to go to 80 or 90 but see no reason to for now. no more ground studders in my UH-1 even on marianas, solid 36fps. For me, 10700k, 32gb, SSD this was the thing that I needed. Oh, and I never hear the fans spin, this card runs cool. my 3060Ti would go full blast after a few minutes. Hope this helps anyone else who may be on the fence.
