OK ED... Anytime your ready to announce the next aircraft
miguelaco replied to 1stVFW Hawk's topic in Chit-Chat
A DC engine is not a random mission generator. It's not the best term to describe it, you're losing many features in the way. Falcon engine is far from perfect, but you can't call it a random mission generator. On the other side I still prefer a flawed DC engine that makes you feel part of something than a bunch of unrelated missions. My main concern with a sim is how the plane flies and how the battlefield responds to my actions. In that respect, DCS-A10C is unbeatable, but with the great level we have now, I think ED should focus on completing this piece of art with something that could leverage the immersion factor. -

Well, it's not the tools or the lack of dedication. IMHO DC offers much more than a way to auto-generate missions. You are part of a war and that makes it much more immersive. You cannot achieve that with a random mission generator. -

I don't care about knowing what is the next aircraft. I'm sure we'll enjoy the new module in the same way we are having fun with A-10C. That said, I think we haven't had any update lately from ED. I miss those tweets and posts with new features or bugs corrected. It helps to keep the community interest high now that the most active thread in ED forums is about Falcon BMS. Don't get me wrong, I'm not critizicing anything, I'm just pointing out it would be nice to have a little more feedback about next releases, new features and bug corrections, just as it was not so long ago. -
Looks good! Thx for sharing.

I'm afraid it is not an easy change, since this limitation exists from the very beginning of the series. I hope that developers take this into consideration or even already working on it.

I have to agree with this request. It is not the feature itself, but I believe it could open new possibilities. The sim could take flight groups into account and provide better AI response from ATC and tankers in multiplayer. I don't know how it works IRL, but take aerial refueling as an example. Lead could request rejoin on behalf his entire group and take turns on the boom without every member calling for abort at the end of its turn. It would smooth the proccess while possibly making it more realistic. What do you think about it? Are there any plans to introduce this feature in future patches/releases?

You must first set the Rotary Selector Dial in the intercom panel to the INT position. Then using Mic Switch Fwd initiate communication with ground crew using option 8. Don't forget to reset it to the VHF position once you're done with ground crew or you'll not be able to communicate with other assets. Hope it helps!

Flying with HOTAS Warthog and Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals here with 20 curve on all axis. Works very good for me to improve ground handling and above all, air to air refueling

Well, AFAIK they are linked. I have mirrors turned off too for this reason. Decoupling these two settings sounds very reasonable to me.

I've just come back from a beer weekend in Brussels. I'm a big fan of trappist and abbey ales, as well as lambic style. One of my favorite beers is Tripel Karmeliet: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/tripel-karmeliet/5368/ There are too many beer pubs in Brussels, but I'd like to recommend Le Poechenellekelder. Great selection of beers and good atmosphere, far from the crowded Delirium Tremens.

Negative, but I'm just finishing a TARGET profile for it.

Ground Weapon Employment: TGP elevation source
miguelaco replied to miguelaco's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Agree, see my post above. So elevation info is accurate, but CCIP bombing using DTS is not in mountainous terrain due possibly to calculation limitations. -
Ground Weapon Employment: TGP elevation source
miguelaco replied to miguelaco's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Sorry, but we did not use dynamic weather, so wind and pressure remained constant throughout the scenery. However, I see your point regarding DTS. It is possible that DTS is totally accurate in the mountains while CCIP pipper is not. So, only devs know what's going on here. The only effect I see is that CCIP is not accurate in the mountains, and that could very well be as in RL. -

Respectfully disagree. Have you tried to bomb a target in CCIP in the mountains? I can confirm, based in several MP missions made with our squadron mates (actually your squadron mates too as it is E69 from Spain :)) that CCIP accuracy is affected by terrain type as long as you select DTS as target elevation source. However, agree with the consistent suite thing. Note that I've not asked it to be implemented, just asked if it is implemented now :smilewink: -
Ground Weapon Employment: TGP elevation source

Dunno what happened to slackerD answer. It kinda dissapeared. He pointed out what's been said. It's an unimplemented feature as paulrkiii noted and my own tests seem to confirm. Certainly it's a very exciting feature and that was why I started the thread. DTS elevation source is not very reliable in the mountains and the alternative to do an accurate delivery is to enter TGT elevation manually, which I see impractical. -
Great idea! Certainly more realistic than what we have now.

Bumped just to point out that this glitch is still present on 1.1.0.9

[Poll] CCRP, CCIP, or CCIP-CR? and a question
miguelaco replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thx! Sounds very good. Flight plan to assist on the approach is a good idea. Will try to replicate. I'm afraid I'll be back with more questions when I get into it. P.D: Rep inbound -
[Poll] CCRP, CCIP, or CCIP-CR? and a question
miguelaco replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Hi Laud, I'm trying some CCIP deliveries using the same document base (hawgsmoke mils pdf), but I am not very familiar with data from z-diagrams. I want to be sure I fully understand those before actually trying in the sim. For example: I'm planning a computed CCIP delivery using DRC as track reference. I recognize this values from the above diagram. Base Range: 1.6 nm Dive Angle: 45º Base Alt: 9500 ft Check Alt: 7500 ft Release Alt: 6000 ft Minimum Recovery Alt: 4700 ft Desired Time Of Fall (DTOF): 11.1 s SEM: CLM It seems AOD, IHP and IAA are not needed when using DRC, so nothing to say about them. So I only need release speed. Is that number on the right that reads 375? Hope you can help with some insight and advice. Regards. -
Many thx!!

Try orbit task with radius=0. Cannot tell if it works, tough.

Interesting! Little off-topic, but never understood SCS purpose. Can anyone elaborate on its practical use?

UK people... where did you get your TrackIR?
miguelaco replied to 112th_Rossi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Bought mine from SimWare Simulations http://www.simw.com They are based in Belgium, but is very likely that they ship to UK. -
Set a stop condition for orbit task on user flag activation. Activate flag with a trigger of type: ONCE -> UNIT DEAD(unit) -> FLAG ON(flagId) Once the unit is dead, flag x will be true and orbit task will end. Your Apaches will continue their flight plan. P.D: Druid always fast to the rescue!!
