  1. I've voted for one large screen. There is a single fact that prevent me to judge 3 monitors as an ideal solution: 16:9 sucks for gaming. 16:10 is good but those screens are just expensive on their own. As said 3 16:9 monitors gives you great peripheral fov, but vertical fov is bad. You can put screens in portrait mode, but bezels actually get in the way. Of course, you can minimize this by adding more screens vertically, but price goes up as fps goes down.
  2. Well, I have a similar problem and dunno if it's related. I experience flickering on some textures, mainly on urban areas and trees. The effect was not as noticeable in beta 4 than the release version. I've been doing some tests with AA settings and have determined that flickering dissapears enabling super-sampling anti-aliasing and forcing AA via AMD CCC. Obviously, this is not bearable FPS wise even on my HD6950, but hope it could help to narrow the problem. I'll try to record two videos, one with the flickering and one without for you to see the difference. Also, if this is not the correct thread, let me know.
  3. Once you start dropping ordnance and get wings unbalanced, sure you'll miss that roll trim controls
  4. OMG! Gimme those CBUs!!
  5. Definitely!! Good update all in all!!
  6. Great additions, specially in the MP area: 80. Multiplayer client aerial refueling added. 81. Multiplayer client AWACS supported added. 83. Multiplayer client JTAC added. 84. Multiplayer client ATC added. Good work, ED!!
  7. I've got one HD6950 modded to HD6970 :smilewink: and frames are good. Not as good as expected, but hope it'll improve with the next catalyst version. In DCS BS shimmering is bad, but DCS A-10C hasn't any problem with it. Maybe future compatibility patch for BS will resolve this forever and ever. Anyway, I'm very satisfied with my new card. Highly recommended, specially now that mod to 6970 is still possible.
  8. Good to know! I also installed 10.5 but no difference with 10.10. By the way, how many FPS did you get with supersampling enabled on your 5770? I found that is bearable as long as there's not too much action on screen. Also, lowering some graphic options in game could compensate supersampling.
  9. Well at least I'm not the only one with this problem. I'm getting mad with it, since the only games I play on PC are FC2, DCS:BS and DCS:A10C and all of them are getting that shimmering effect that ruins immersion. I'll keep on trying but the lack of results is leading me to consider a gtx460 or gtx470 when A10C becomes gold.
  10. Sure, 4xAA Supersampling is the best compromise. Better than Multisampling as this unleashes the ant attack :-)
  11. I've tried mipmap settings as well as different levels of AF but notice no difference. So far, the setting that somewhat works for me is 8xAA with Supersampling, as Arrowhead pointed. However, this has a great impact on performance. Adaptive Antialiasing is a no go, as it renders same cockpit textures transparent. I tried also installing ATT and fiddling with lod bias options, forcing vsync and again this yield no results. Options are running out and Catalyst 10.5 is the only thing that's worth a try at the moment. Thanks for the response anyway
  12. Sorry for bumping this thread, but I'm fighting hard to get rid of city shimmering on my ATI card (5770). I'm still struggling with this, searching the forum for all the reports about this issue and I have not figured out a solution yet. This graphical glitch is important and breaks immersion for me. Have you found a solution? I've read reports of some success using Catalyst 10.5, but not tried it yet. I'm going to try this out and post the results.
