New SimHaptic for bass shakers works great!
KeyserSoze62 replied to Peedee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just saw their Youtube announcement and came here to search if anybody had tried it. Sounds encouraging. I've been using Simshaker with the plugin and its ok but I've never loved it. -

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
KeyserSoze62 replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks I think I have that exactly right. So this will setup the UH-60 but anybody know if you can do the OH-6 the same way? Even the the OH-58 as well by just repeating this? -

Ok so first image is the original and second is the modded file. Look correct? Could you repeat this same technique to add support for the OH-6 mod right after it? Thanks. --------- -

So do I copy the UH-1H section and add a new section or does this change replace the UH-1H? I fly both regularly so that would be a pain. -

Sounds good I'll look into that too. -

Are folks using the generic SU-27 mod app for the UH-60 Mod? Or can you edit the simshaker.lua directly to add the UH-60? If so please share how. Thanks. -

Ah. I see the issue apologies. I was trying to use take off from ground and trying to do multiple clients for a multiplayer mission. When I use parking they superimpose the helos on top of each other in the first parking spot only. I guess this more of a basic mission editing question then but how would you be able to designate what pad to start from so that you could have statics on the other pads? Thanks for the great additions. -

I tried on all 4 parking pads and got the same message. Edit: If i choose "take off from parking" it throws the helo way over on another ship I have in the mission. -

@tobi Question about the VAP assets. The Sea Float Barge is under ships and I have no problem landing on it or placing statics on it and linking them. I can't however place a helo on them for a hot/cold start. Get the message below? Can this be fixed? -
Dude are you serious? Where is the conspiracy theory? No conspiracy or brag. I said it felt surprisingly easy to me. That is all. The SME I referred to is someone I know and have worked with one to one. I admire and greatly appreciate all his contributions to the community but that doesn't preclude me from having my own opinion and feeling about it. No I have not flown the Kiowa in real life as I mentioned. I won't bother with any other life experience with flying its not relevant. I'm saying the FM is the easiest to start with of any other helo mod I've played in DCS to date. That's it. A simple search about any other helo mod in DCS on this forum will bring up hundreds of posts about how difficult some models were to fly on launch. This one not so much and if that means its a great and perfectly realistic model from Polychop then hallelujah and congrats to the developers. Nothing that serious here. Thanks. I've been flying Tobsen and Eightballs OH-6 for weeks now and its terrific and very challenging. I love it. Which Is why i said again I was surprised the Kiowa was so easy. Thanks.

I'll definitely try that but the Apache has SCAS and I think lots of people would say it was a challenge to fly when released. Maybe PolyChop just did a fantastic job with the model? I've never flown a Kiowa so I'm just wondering.

I was expecting struggles with flying it and tons of posts from people debating curves and settings etc. but this is the easiest DCS helo to fly out the box ever. I mapped, added a little curve to cyclic and took off. Easy steady hover. Is it too easy?? I wonder if we are not getting a real sim experience? I know an SME has given good reviews but just wondering if it was dumbed down a bit to appeal to the masses?

Agree but current state on this version you don't have anywhere close to that much time. Its instant. It is better if you are cruising at speed 80-100 knots. But hovering or anything slow no mercy. No ability to hold trim button depressed while you move either yet. I did chat with developer in the discord. Hopefully will adjust it next version. -

Agree its an Instant Trim but there is no delay or opportunity to jump the stick back to center before it multiplies your input and sends you sideways. It also adds more input than the trim position when you press it by almost double. You can see it very clearly if you just trim on the ground. Watch the controls indicator jump well past the trim spot in this video when i hit trim. You can see how much it adds too when i try to trim in hover. It needs a slight delay to allow you to re-center the cyclic or it should behave like the center position trim on other helos and disable input until you re-center. -

I can't make sense of the new trim release feature? I have all the trim buttons mapped. Trim reset and the 4 directional trims all fine and obvious. Trim release I expected to work like the Apache where you either hold it, get stable and release or fly get stable press it and then re-center your flightstick to regain control. When i press it in either case it immediately trims to that position but it multiplies my control and the aircraft goes out of control. There is no ability to re-center joystick and keep flying. What am I missing? I have center spring Virpil and I did set the special settings to central position mode. -
I pre-ordered on March 26th. Still no t-shirts.

It took a minute working with many of the settings some have shared here but once you figure out how to fly it this mod is amazing fun. Got a solid hover on lift now and was even able to put it down cleanly on a moving destroyer. Great work and thanks to the developers for this amazing addition. -

Wow. I certainly didn't notice that. I've never had that happen before when setting controls. No idea why it didn't set as an X to begin with but you have saved the day. Thank you. -

I captured some video on what is happening with the controls that I cannot overcome. You will see in the controls indicator that the pitch and pedals move smoothly. The roll however does not respond. It moves a little and stops then jumps to catch up. In the video where you see the roll indicator just move slightly I actually have the stick fully left or right and it doesn't match or it will jump suddenly to match my input. It also doesn't return fully to center when i release stick. This is not happening in any other aircraft for me so it is not hardware. Very frustrating because I have seen people flying it now on posts and videos and it looks like a blast and if I say so myself I am not a total scrub flying the helos. Clearly something is wrong on my installation at least. I have many mods but again no other aircraft is displaying this behavior with the controls. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. -

I agree with everything you have described and also can't imagine the amount of work that goes into these modules so am very appreciative but I tried everything and have not been successful in flying it more than a few KM's before it get ugly. If those of you that have figured it out would be kind enough to share some of your settings and adjustments it would be greatly appreciated. -

Not to sound smart but I fly every other helo module and do fine with them so I understand the process you described. I certainly know nothing about the coding though and whether it would be reflected in the tuning screen just reporting what I see. I see others reporting that the collective seems to be inducing an exaggerated roll as well. -

Beautiful but man is it tough. I've added large curves to all controls but can't seem to keep it from rolling over. Try to get it gently into a hover and it just takes off forward or sideways and rolls over. Curious to see what others are adjusting to get a handle on it. Edit: There seems to be something off with the roll response. In image below you can see the roll stays stuck right when releasing the cyclic back to center. It takes a few jiggles to get it to re-center. I checked several other aircraft and this isn't happening with any other so it shouldn't be my hardware. All other helos are flying just fine. Its not happening in the pitch control or pedals. null
