I randomly found this only because I often use the Marianas Instant Action Runway Start mission for the Apache to practice landings in confined spaces. I started that today after 2.8 update and the Carrier docked just West of the Helipad near the entrance to the port is invisible. The aircraft on the deck are all there and you can land on it but its invisible in Cockpit view. In F2 view it can be seen occasionally depending on the angle and zoom level you look from but not always. In F3 view it is visible. Here is a screenshot and fun track of landing on it. Re-Targeting from the Pilot Seat w George
KeyserSoze62 replied to KeyserSoze62's topic in DCS: AH-64D
No the mission is based on a historical event so its doable. It just requires switching to the CPG seat to send the additional Hellfires. I was hoping someone had a neat trick to send a hellfire from the pilots seat through George AI when there is no active target for him to track. -
Re-Targeting from the Pilot Seat w George
KeyserSoze62 replied to KeyserSoze62's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Thanks for your response. I am aware I can have George repeat the search but the issue is there are no active targets left on the building for him to track. The mission just calls for putting another missile in the building. I'll have to break down the triggers in the mission to see how it determines you hit the building a second time with no targets there but that's what it requires. -
Does anyone have some advice on how to effectively re-target something that you have already engaged , possibly destroyed, from the pilot seat using George? I was working a mission that calls for a Hellfire on some insurgents on the roof of a building. I target the insurgents and engage which kills all of them. The mission then calls for us to re-engage the building with a second hellfire. I know I can simply target from the CPG seat and put a second missile on the building but is their any trick or possible way to do this from the pilot seat with George? With no active targets left on the building after the first hit he obviously won't track anything. Is their any other way to slave George to a target that is already done? Thanks.

Single player Uh-1 Coast Guard Mission

This looks great. Will absolutely download this one. Can't wait. -
These guys beg to differ LOL. But I'm guessing OP means can we do it in game and I would like to know that as well.

Thanks for the feedback. As expected and understand the simulation of situational awareness in George.

I just recently started playing from the CPG seat after using George AI since launch. Of course with George you can easily tell if the target is enemy based on the color in the target list. Other than having an encyclopedic knowledge of enemy units is there any indication from the CPG seat if a unit is enemy on the TEDAC? I recently did a mission where friendly troops were assaulting a town and I was providing support where the units were in fairly close proximity. Most ground vehicles can be identified easily but infantry on the TEDAC not always so much. Thanks for any feedback.

I'm still not clear it was an intentional change. I appreciate per the Raptor9 explanation that it may represent realistic behavior but if was an intentional change then as you said how would that big a change not be mentioned in the change logs? And does it explain the sudden yaw issue others have reported?
-
So am I understanding correctly that this is realistic and correct behavior in the real aircraft. However, was this intentional by ED with this patch and what we should expect in the flight model going forward or is it a bug that introduced this behavior? Does this also explain the sudden yaw changes from a stable hover that many have already described? Other than the constant SAS saturated tone in the previous release I was very comfortable in the aircraft but since this change it feels like initial release day. I've been in nice steady hover engaging targets and suddenly it yaws right and the left pedal is totally ineffective to correct. I've also noticed after that happens if I can transition to forward flight and try to get the aircraft back in control the ball is pegged right and no amount of Right pedal brings it back. Then it will suddenly pop back towards center. Thanks for all the information you share.

Yes please. I enjoy the civilian traffic in my game experience but my son recently built a great Medivac mission for Huey where there are many landing zones on roads for evacuations and they get hit by civilian vehicles. I know we can forbid in mission but zone would be better option to preserve immersion.

Hi all. Has anyone been able to successfully save a Track file using this mod? Every time I try to re-watch a track or save track the result is nothing like the mission I actually flew. It usually shows the bird crashing in first few minutes even though I actually completed mission and landed. Thanks.

Thanks @Laurreth Appreciate the reply. That's definitely the issue and a reasonable fix but not sure I want to have to make that change every time I change aircraft. I'll have to see how close my FOV is on other planes and if close enough may be able to compromise on a value that works for all. I did find this in another post but not sure if this can be saved for each aircraft either or becomes a universal setting. And does it create multiplayer problems with passing integrity checks to edit the main views.lua?
-
Hey all. So I have set my custom FOV in the F18 by following the instructions on many posts in this forum and YouTube and that is working great. Small problem I have run into now seems new with latest update. I have a slider on my Virpil Throttle set for Zoom View. The slider has a detent at the center position. When I fist start up in the aircraft and set my default FOV by hitting Enter on the numpad everything is good. However, as soon as I use the Zoom View slider to look around cockpit and then return it to center my default FOV is gone and I have to hit Enter again. It doesn't retain that center position on the Zoom according to my default FOV. You can clearly see the jump as soon as you move the slider. I've checked the calibration on slider and settings in Virpil software. The detent has a nice deadzone so its not that. No axis to button setting or anything like that. I have no other custom views created. I went ahead and deleted my snapviews.lua and recreated my FOV from scratch to troubleshoot but no difference. Wish I could do a video but I'm an old fart and don't have those skills. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks and appreciate any help.

KeyserSoze62 posted a topic in General Bugs
Suddenly I can't load a profile for any aircraft or controller in DCS. The window to choose file comes up and in bottom left you can see this "File does not exist" Any file I choose and click OK nothing happens. The dialog box only closes if I cancel. Appreciate any help. Thanks. Edited to add I can save profiles. -
