  1. I believe you would still have to unpack all the Mission files? Still seems like more work than just doing the same thing in two database files.

You are correct I would essentially be on a custom Massun but it would be far easier I believe to disable the custom database, upgrade to a new version, and then edit the database again if needed or just restore it, than editing 100 missions. Again this is all theory at the moment. I plan to make these edits, create the OVGME module, and test this weekend. It may be Massun92 tells us this is all not possible? No harm in trying.
  3. Are you saying unpack the mission file and edit the mission file from the miz file directly in Notepad to change all those names? It seems like that would be more work to do for each mission rather than edit the database that would fix all missions. I am planning to edit the database and then create a Mod pack for OVGME with the updated database that I can enable/disable to test.
  4. Agree would like to know more. I've never had a crash due to Massun92 pack. I just looked over my Mission files and I have nearly 100 missions that use the pack. That's impossible IMO for me to go through and try to replace every asset. Sure I can keep both versions but I don't always know what mission I plan to play when I start up the sim? I realize these are certainly first world problems of course but it is disappointing. I'm especially heartbroken about all the great FOB's that creators have made with the pack that are now empty. MrGoodnite is my favorite FOB creator in the User Files Downloads. Don't know if he is active in these forums. @Massun92 When you say we can edit the database.lua which are you referring to in this list? Thanks. null
  5. @Massun92 Also wondering if there is a way to do this? So greatly appreciate all the work you do and contribute to the community but there are so many wonderful missions that have been built using your assets that are now broken if we replace the old install with this new version. It seems insurmountable, for me anyway, to have to rebuild all those missions. Are the names all different enough that we could have both versions installed at the same time by renaming the folders? Thanks for any guidance.
  6. If I were to guess this is just a result of timing. Hellenic Dawn was released much sooner when Apache launched and people were still hungry for Apache missions. Horizon was after the initial hype and also right when F-15 launched if I recall correctly. So the feedback on Horizon is from the more dedicated Apache flyers and the previous missions were just everyone downloading to try. Sinai is also just a wonderful map as well. That's my humble opinion. Keep them coming good sir.
  7. This mission remains one of my most replayed missions. When I just feel like getting in the Apache this is my go to. Looking forward to more from @Don Rudi.
  8. Would I be correct in that if you have been meaning to do a clean install now would be a good time? As long as I backup my saved games folder all my mappings etc will be saved? Thanks.

  10. Just a follow up on my original post. Flying it in missions now I am even more disappointed with the quality of switches. Especially the "Push" on the 4 way and 3 way buttons. They are absolutely awful and inconsistent. Mushy and terribly balanced. Its as if the stem on the buttons is just too tall and when you try and get a clean push they rock side to side. In game they failed to click several times unless I really slowed down and found the sweet spot to push. The push on all my other Virpil devices is short and crisp. l don't see how I can use the push on any of these buttons so they are essentially useless and I just won't map them for now. I also find the two pinky buttons on backside of grip terrible as well. Way too much travel and play before you get the click. They should have used the same two small buttons they have on the top front of grip. Those feel fine. I still feel the body of the grip is not an issue at all. No flex and feels fine in the hand. If the buttons were on par with the other Virpil grips it would be a huge win but they are terrible.
  11. Just got mine and strongly agree with several posts here. It just doesn't have that expected Virpil quality to it out of the box. The plastic body doesn't bother me so much but the buttons and switches are just sub par for Virpil. I've got hundreds of hours on my other Virpil devices and I don't even consider they will fail. This not so much. Feels like its not long for this world from the start but we will see. It looks sweet though. The counterbalance is superb though. Amazing design and I can loosen the clutches almost completely and adjust the collective with the counterbalance alone. I had the clutches completely loose so the collective dropped freely. Adjusted the counterbalance until it held it in any position with absolutely no movement, then just added a touch of clutch to give it some resistance and its perfect.
  12. @putze4711 I think this is a superb mission and very tough. Great immersion. I failed my first attempt at rescuing the troops as single player but have a better plan for my next try I hope. Looking forward to more missions. Great contribution. Thank you.
  13. I'm figuring it out. Found a good tutorial. You mentioned in an old post that you use the EQ to cut off higher frequencies? Would you mind sharing what your EQ settings look like that did that best? Edit: I have it working. Getting DCS sounds to my speakers/headset and the shaker. Now I just need to tune it so I'm very interested in EQ settings you have found successful as a baseline. Thanks for all your help.
  14. Hey thanks so much for replying. A lot to understand but let me get the app downloaded and see if I can start to figure it out. Any links to the best tutorials you mention? I'm visual if you happen to have a diagram on how things route ie: 1 Channel = PC sounds -> Banana -> Bass shaker Input --> 1 Channel = PC sounds -> Banana -> DCS Main Audio --> etc. I currently have my general PC sound on the audio out of motherboard to a Fosi amp to bookshelf speakers and a sub. Then I have wireless Corsair headset Then the nobsound via USB just for the shaker. So these are my three sound choices: If i understand correctly. Banana will become a 4th choice and the current three will be inputs to Banana? Maybe its more complicated than that. Thanks again for taking the time to answer.
  15. Sorry to reboot this old thread but very interested in trying out this method of using game sounds instead of SSA for my BassShaker. I have one Dayton Bst-1 and the Nobsound amp connected by USB. Currently using SSA but would like to see the difference. For game sounds I usually wear a wireless headset along with my head tracking. Can you share how I would go about setting up the basshaker to use game sounds? Thanks.

  17. I'm newly setup with SSA/Sound Module now using 1 shaker on my Monstertech MFC chair. Can anyone point me to a resource to better understand ASIO mode?? What is the benefit and does it work with just one shaker? I've also seen some posts about enabling Stereo Mix? Link below. Is this still necessary to configure?   19. Hey all, I'm new to setting up a BassShaker. I've searched through the forum and this thread but this thread is long. My plan is to use either one or two Dayton BST-1 and the Nobsound amp. I've seen several videos where the Nobsound is connected to the PC simply by USB and it is essentially a sound card itself. Then I have seen setups where people still use an external USB sound card. Can someone please just summarize the difference and whether I can just use the Nobsound via USB with SSA and the Sound Module OR do I have to have an additional sound card to connect the Nobsound for use with SSA? Thanks so much for any quick advice.
  20. Thanks for your reply. Comfort and familiarity are the primary reasons. And of course all free apps like these have development and support, until they don't. Very grateful to @sedenion for both these great apps and the ongoing support he provides. Just wanted to have an understanding of what kind of longevity to expect from OvGME. Thanks.
  21. I have been thinking about making the move to OpenMod from OvGME but I am curious if there is any reason we should fear that OvGME would stop working or be incompatible any time soon? What would be the threat from Windows etc that could make it no longer usable? Thanks.

  23. @Eight Ball I also discovered the errors while troubleshooting CurrentHills mods today. Game still launches ok with these errors but not sure if any missions with these assets are affected.   24. @currenthill I removed all the old mods that I could identify. I am able to install all your assets now except UK or USA. Either one of those causes the game to shutdown on launch. Here is my log file and my mods directory. Can you tell me what the conflict may be? Thank you sir. dcs.log
  25. So is their a list someplace that can help identify all the OLD assets? Obviously all those prefixed with CH are simple but I thought there were some that did not have the prefix and I am having a hard time identifying them in my large list of mods.
