  1. +1 So much potential there.
  2. Moving and controlling units on map in CA can be very tedious. Adoption of general purpose Real Time Strategy controls would be helpful. -Click and drag selection. -Hot key shortcuts. -Group/ungroup controls. -WASD scroll controls. -Zoom to preset location hotkey -SAM unit green/red condition indicator on map unit icon -Incoming fire alert
  3. I'm sorry, maybe i've been awake too long, but you're just not making any sense to me. You want to know what people think about a plane being smaller?
  4. The problem with a "real" scenario is it's subjective and doesn't really tell you anything solid that's of much use. Why waste all that time producing something that has limited value?
  5. If I have time tomorrow i'll set up a test and throw the results up here. It's be interesting to see what it yields. Say, shots of f-15 and Mig-21 at different ranges and angles for comparison.
  6. There's a texture issue on one of the LOD points for the main rotor mast. Just go into external view and start zooming out and the mast will appear grey as you step down to the next LOD.

Sensational work, Rudel. The Mig-21 just keeps going from strength to strength. It sets a very high bar.
  8. This sort of discussion comes up often. The F-14A/B had a long one regarding AIM-120. Seems to fall in three camps; those that want a particular weapon for gameplay purposes knowing it isn't realistic; those only wanting what can be a proven reality; and those that want to prove a fictional reality to justify the weapon. The M2000C discussion has already been done to great length and from what I remember there is no credible source showing that ARMAT was deployed with FAF M2000C (Correct me if I'm wrong). Why can't we be happy with just sticking to reality?
  9. Oh well, good to know at least that it can't be done.
  10. Just wondering if it's at all possible to rearm/refuel the Ka using support vehicles and without a FARP. Say, having the support rally at roadside or decent clearing and then landing for a quick turnaround.
  11. This would have a huge impact on online missions. Would make life so much easier than dealing with external comms.
  12. Also on top of this the brakes still work despite there being no available air.

    M2000 vs Mig-21

They can lock you from above providing there is enough offset from target and ground. They simply just roll on their back.
  14. I've just been doing a few tests and found something interesting. In prestart there is no air being consumed in the pneumatic system. On a standard startup this does not change. On pulsing the brakes a few times there is a measured consumption of air. Leaving the aircraft in idle the air is still consumed at a constant rate. On shutting down the engine and all electrics the air is still consumed at the same rate. It looks as though as soon as you use the brakes it invokes a constant bleed of main air. Also on startup the chute will deploy the normal way. Obviously once all the air is depleted the chute can no longer deploy. Can anyone else replicate this?
  15. Do you notice the constant bleed of the main air system gauge even when gear is neutral and brake is not depressed? What else is consuming the air?
  16. I've tried the alternate Default.lua and it works ok. The only oddity is the afterburner alternate switch is backwards. Up is off and down is on. the Virtual switch just remains in the down position. Afterburner works fine regardless.
  17. Good job, Golo! I'll check it out later.
  18. I've had something like two successful deployments. The rest of the time I'm swearing and mashing the button as I reef the brake handle trying to stop before the end of the runway. I'm not sure if it's a bug of a malfunction somewhere between the flight stick and the seat.
  19. Has anyone had issues with deploying the drag chute? I've lost the ability to do this. At first I thought it was just a binding issue, but even mousing the button does nothing. I haven't had the time to really take a close look at this. Do the chute system need to be armed now?
  20. 1+ for FeistyLemur's thoughtful list. Just echoing that this isn't a jab at LN. Constructive feedback is useful.
  21. No, that just brings up the chat text. Found it to be control-y.
  22. Is there any way to remove that little envelope icon on the right when online? Does my head in. EDIT: NM, just Control-Y kills it.
  23. TM WH user. I'm disappointed with the reduction in compatibility. I can see this new standard being very good for non-positional switch HOTAS like x-52, but is of little use for TM WH. Would it have been feasible to have both methods of toggle or positional switching? Doesn't mean they all have to be bound by default, but it gives flexibility in binding. Is there a way to revert to the pre-1.5 system?

    M2000 vs Mig-21

It was unfortunate for my friend. He was actually almost in the pocket of a lag pursuit of the defending F-15. I was coming in behind him to support when he said he was merged, but sadly my friend overcranked and killed his energy staying with the Eagle (The F-15 over-cranked too and really hurt his energy). Buddy elected to roll out and extend. I didn't realise he was rolling out, I thought the F-15 was scissoring him, but actually saw that he was disengaging and reversed turn to catch him. By that stage they were both exhausted and I was trying to stay in a deep lag so as to not overshoot. It ended up being an easy kill, once he threw all his energy out the window there wasn't much he could do.
  25. Got into a BFM fight with an F-15.
