-Option to decouple the pedals from the trimmer system (If that's how it is in the real thing). -BST to keep doing what they're doing -The Fan. (On future startups, if I discover that the fan is malfunctioning then the mission gets cancelled.)

I'ma bit tired and maybe my reading comprehension is not what it should be, but can the rudder be decoupled from the trimmer system?
-
Is there any way to disable trimmer for the pedals so it behaves the same way the Huey does in that regard?

Does DCSW really need more than 4Gb of RAM?
Zomba replied to Gloom Demon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I do a lot image creation on my PC. 16GB is pretty much standard for that sort of thing and I often use most of it. The less reliance on pagefile the better. -
Diveplane, that Jumo engine sounds awesome. Nicely done.

What about direct connect? -

If you've already reinstalled DCS and deleted the temp it's doubtful that it's the sim doing it. Any IP or peer blocking software running? -
Great update. Looking forward to the 190, it's going to be an awesome aircraft to fly. I never really had much interest in the WWII era sim aircraft before, but they are just so much damn fun to fly.

How does the Kickstarter work if the goal isn't reached? If the campaign doesn't make it's goal does the money get reimbursed or do they have the option to make do with what they have?

I wonder how they will model the engine performance? Would Lockheed give up that sort of information? If they don't then what could they do to get around that?

I'm with Optus and have been with them at this address for over a year now. I doesn't seem like an Optus issue, although could be wrong. I'm pretty well acquainted with the network behaviour here with them and erratic network latency tends to be consistent across the board when it does happen, not just specific to one game. It looks like allmhuran and I both have the same motherboard with the same onboard NIC. The e2200 is supposed to be a gaming orientated card that will throttle non-gaming traffic and prioritising games. It looks like that service the interfaces with the card to cater to this doesn't run well with DCS despite setting DCS as a priority. No big deal as for now disabling the service fixes the problem.

I have this exact problem. New MSI mpower motherboard that has the integrated e2200 Killer ethernet controller. All games are fine, except for DCS. Server browser shows typical pings, but when I enter our 161sqn server in Australia I get pings ranging from 3000 to 15000. I get similar results with other DCS servers I join. Pinging other non-DCS servers at this time just gives me the normal results I expect, so I only get this issue with DCS. Killing "Qualcomm Aetheros Killer Service " in the services.msc and restarting DCS resolves the issue completely and I now get pings just like I had before.

Here's me thinking that F-117 was shot down by an SA-3.

I don't think the word "Troll" means what you think it means. Go join a squadron, or even set up your own server and attract the hordes. Otherwise this just seems like complaining about things because they don't exactly match your prefered condition. P.S. Relax!

I like how this thread rapidly turned into a discussion on beer. Thanks to ED on their efforts to push this patch and also for the updates on what was going on. Good and bad news, I like following the process and it sheds a little light on how difficult and challenging developing this sim is. It's more like a living document that's constantly evolving than a typical game that is released, maybe a few patches and a DLC pack and that's it. For a reasonably small outfit ED definitely punches above it's weight.

Ha, Skatezilla, sounds like an awesome experience. When I was younger I wanted to be a rescue pilot in the military. I wasn't keen on the idea of killing, but saving people had a lot of appeal to me, but medical wouldn't let me go further. I took the odd route of taking a career under the sea instead of in the air. Some of the companies I worked for used various Huey derivatives (Don't ask me which, they just all had that distinctive shape). One of the pilots was an older guy that had flown Hueys in the Vietnam War and mentioned to me once, as we were landing in a clearing in the middle of nowhere to get fuel, that this reminded him of inserting troops into clearings in jungle clearings... minus the people shooting. I've always wanted to know what it was like to fly one.

Just to add on that. One of the BI devs, Dvordin, would sometimes jump on our teamspeak server leading up to a patch release and have a short interview about any issues we've had with the beta patches. I assume they did that with many TS servers.

I really can't be bothered, you seem to be misunderstanding what I was getting at. -

Yep, only five tankers. Which Indonesia will unlikely allow within it's airspace during a conflict unless it suits their interests. All of which need barrier CAP. -
Oh well, problem sorted. Hooray for testing.

Wing loading is a problem when the f-35 is the aggressor and the Flanker is the interceptor, which is what he was saying if you had cared to include that. Long range isn't debatable unless Australia is about to sink some serious coin into tanker support now (Which there are no plans to afaik) or Australia is about to be magically teleported close to the Asian mainland. Which one is it? If EF doesn't have the legs then all it can ever be is a defensive interceptor here. We can never assume that other nations in the regions will automatically give us use of their airfields during conflict. This doesn't mean that the F-35 is a poor aircraft, it just means that it's not designed for what we require of it. -

Keep in mind that articles written by Dr Kopp are from a purely Australian defence perspective. Australia requires long range, high speed strike capability with minimal tanker support. We used to have a defence doctrine based around the fact that we were too far away from the Asian mainland to be worried about long range strike from potential enemies beyond the Indonesian archipelago while retaining that capability ourselves. But recently there has been a proliferation of Russian Flanker variants which changes the situation and also the decommissioning of our F-111s. So naturally there is a lot of focus comparing various aircraft to Flanker variants here. Also his criticism on the F-35 is from an Australian defence requirement perspective. So bearing that in mind his definition of 1st tier is based on 4+ and 5th generation aircraft with emphasis on powerful radar, high cruising speed, very high agility, very long range and reduced radar signature to maintain a technological advantage over any other countries in our region. Of this there is only one operational 5th gen so far and a few 4+ gen. So aircraft like the F-16, the Rafale, the Super Hornet and also the F-35 are regarded as 2nd tier, because they are not designed to provide that capability. Whereas the F-15 is still regarded as high capability. -
Yeah, Grimes, that's what we were suspecting. Our missions are often dual sided with ground commanders so hiding units in the editor isn't an option unfortunately, although worth remembering for the odd one-sided mission. The majority of our KA pilots are very good, so no need giving them any crutches. We'd be a big supporter of editor control of ABRIS intel.
-
It's a problem that has developed with DCS World and is fairly common, especially in multiplayer. As to how to mitigate it, I'm not sure.
-
Does anyone know of any way to disable the enemy and friendly position indicator marks in the Abris via the map editor? The multiplayer missions in the squadron I'm in tend to have F10 map disabled to encourage recon and whatnot, but unfortunately the automatic generation of intelligence on enemy positions in the Abris nullifies all of that.
