  1. Maybe your stick drifts or doesn't center properly? Add some deadzone and check if problem persists
  2. A better screenshot would help, but I think you're talking about the backup reticle, there is a switch on your right side somewhere in the general neighborhood of the switches that you use to power chin stations and FCR if my memory serves me right
  3. GBU-24 are also penetrators, drop two and they'll blow up a bunker. GBU-10 and Mk84 from what I've seen aren't regardless of fusing
  4. Maybe they are realistic, just airflow behaves differently around them so stores can reliably separate even at transsonic or supersonic speeds? Maybe in case of JF-17 aircraft manufacturer cheaped out, skipped separation tests at high speeds for anything that isn't an air to air missile and just inhibited it in software for safety? I don't know, I'm not an aeronautical engineer, just a dude playing a video game
  5. There probably is a good reason why there are speed limits for jettisoning stores
  6. @Sniex I thought it was multirole from the very beginning, with two MFDs and some guided air to surface weapons
  7. How would you even fit a modern-ish glass cockpit multirole fighter into FC3 framework? Bazillion of shortcuts? Not to mention that FC3-tier module simply wouldn't be commercially viable because whether it's full fidelity or not you still need to make all the art and create a flight model, but you can ask much more money for a full fidelity module
  8. @pepin1234 4 variants, unless you count the unicorn ones that quite possibly never existed (at least the ARH one didn't)
  9. I think it's because most people are drawn to what they recognize, for instance from movies, history books, airshows, maybe their country's air force operates it (or used to operate it)
  10. I've seen Shrikes follow friendly jamming aircraft, so it's not just LD-10 issue/feature
  11. Interesting, it seems to show steerpoints in TGP like in F18. I wonder if it's a function of targeting pod or newer tape?
  12. @Mr_sukebeOG A10A is closer to F5 we have in game in terms of avionics than A10C
  13. Happened to me with autostart a couple of times. Pretty annoying, you use the autostart shortcut, go get yourself some coffee or something, when you get back jet is still not powered on. Nowadays I just flip the power switches first to see if there is power before I use autostart
  14. Don't let perfect be enemy of good, open source information can go a long way in creating a fairly convincing simulacrum of the real thing without anyone risking window cleaning accident or permanent vacation in certain Cuban resort. Also it's just a video game, a lot of aspects can be abstracted, you don't always need to simulate how something works to get decent enough results. Just take a look at Mavericks or targeting pods, there is no contrast locking in DCS, it just points at valid objects in the scene with some constraints applied like range, clear LOS, time of day, we don't have to deal with "tactical bushes" other than other objects on the map like buildings or lampposts. Though of course if devs do decide to go more in depth effects can be quite spectacular, like F4 radar for example
  15. @Raven (Elysian Angel) The issue is RB's Mig 23 was already quite advanced, if anyone else were to decide to tackle it tomorrow we'd be 5+ years away from release which means some of us might not be around to see it. Also there were some fairly unique opportunities there, one of the devs at RB used to be a maintenance guy, fixed Floggers for a living and has a ton of books and stuff on the thing. There also was Galinette, who not only is one of two people with proven track record of great radar modelling implementation in DCS that isn't FC3 based but also has experience with implementing GCI link system in the game, Mirage 2kC has TAF and backend would be largely reusable
