  1. True! Wouldn't want to flip all the switches when trying to get that perfect shot of the canopy locking mechanism! ;-)
  2. I was just thinking that using SE-DXN for reference when it comes to parts that are hard to get photos of would be a no brainer, but maybe it has been modified somewhat for civilian use? :-) Can't wait to see the final results! :D
  3. Any reason you have not used the Swedish airforce historic flight AJS 37? :-)
  4. Sounds great! We are looking forward to it as well, as you might have noticed! ;-)
  5. Not in a Viggen with no external ordinance. :P
  6. Let's leave that open! XD
  7. Ah yes, the famous 5km, we once walked said 5km (more like 20km lol) and then when we entered the gates thinking we were done we just kept on walking through the base out the other end. That was a rough day, the grin on the COs face was massive.
  8. RaXha's attempt at Jedi's simpit No cutting this weekend so I took the time to apply the first layer of base coat to the cut parts. Lots of sanding and painting to do before assembly. :-)
  9. DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Discussion Cobra mentioned this in the new years update (specifically about the Viggen and corsair): "We have spent considerable time and resources into making sure that the products we create have an appropriate environment, opponents and other content."
  10. DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Discussion I'm pretty sure the Bk-90 is designed to be released down low. :-) it can glide up to 10 km if released at 50 meters agl at mach 0.9. Releasing it at high altitude just increases the probability of the capsule being detected and intercepted. :-)
  11. DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Discussion Exactly, what is to be used for fix points is known points in the terrain, like church towers, lakes, communications towers etc. These are most likely already programmed into the computer beforehand. Viggen strike missions were usually somewhat pre-planned. :-)
  12. Well, technically we have gotten a peak, we saw the splinter cammo in the headline of their last update.
  13. Pretty sure that was a joke :P
  14. You should probably expect 70s or possibly 80s avionics to not be disappointed at release. :P
  15. Yes, it's mach 1 capable at low altitude. The radar does help at low altitudes. :-)
  16. It's a extremely specialized design. It's sole purpose was more or less to sink a Soviet invasion fleet. Since the Gripen wasn't ready until 1997 (I think), we needed something that could carry the much improved and very advanced anti ship missile Rb-15. :-)
  17. DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Discussion Exactly, it was upgraded to carry weapons designed for the Gripen. (Bk-90 and Rb-15) We (Swedes) don't normally buy foreign fighters, we have done but it's more of an exception than a rule.
  18. The F/A-18c is vastly more capable. :-) The AJS just got a few new weapons during the 90s and a different radar but the difference compared to the AJ is not that significant.
  19. Ah! gotcha! :P
  20. We now pretty much nothing about what is modeled and not since LNS won't give much info until they feel ready for release. :P I would assume they will model it if possible though. :-)
  21. Well, we kind of forced out way into the loop by revealing there was a Viggen project at all. If they had their will we wouldn't even know the thing existed yet and would not be tormenting them about it weekly. :P
  22. A moose, actually. :pilotfly:
  23. I think what he was trying to say is that MDF that thin would resemble cardboard since MDF is pretty much made up of the same material (wood fiber) although a lot more densely packed. I have never seen MDF below 6 mm. :-)
  24. I bought some bosch blades designed for extra clean cuts without tearing the top and bottom layer of plywood. Home depot appears to have them available in their stores. I use these for straight cuts, they can be used for slight curves but they really do try to keep going straight no matter what you do: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bosch-4-1-2-in-Jig-Saw-Blades-5-Pack-T308B/202242756 And these for curved cuts: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bosch-4-1-2-in-ECC-HCS-T-Shank-Jig-Saw-Blade-5-Pack-T308BO/202242766?keyword=T308Bo Keep in mind that the Blades for curved cuts are only designed to cut up to 15mm thick material, but i managed to get by cutting very slowly on the 18mm board aswell. :-) Bosch has a pretty good list of what blade to look for depending on the kind of work you need to do. :-) https://www.boschtools.com/ca/en/boschtools-ocs/t-shank-jig-saw-blades-for-wood-t308bo-35144-p/
