  1. :megalol: Edit: Oh, and a very nice update Cobra! I can't wait to "keep up foreign relations" later this year! :D
  2. As well as the M/90 uniform currently in service, and a lot of other Swedish military vehicles. (Well, at least they are very similar to that of the Viggen). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M90_(camouflage)
  3. DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Discussion The reverser doors start closing when the main gear is compressed, but will abort if the nose gear is not compressed 2 seconds later. So that would account for your missing ~2 seconds. At least that's what I have understood from previous discussion. :-)
  4. As you say the chance of success is probably quite slim due to the delay before the reverser doors are fully closed after touchdown, and also the fairly high touchdown speed. I wouldn't call it impossible though, so good luck! :D
  5. I got the sense that most of what's remaining has to do with visuals, so i'm guessing it's more or less feature complete with some polish being applied right now. :-)
  6. That wasn't an official announcement in that sense, more of a "we might as well mention it since there was a leak revealing it." The official announcement Wil be when they release trailer, website and imagery of the module, and that has not happened yet.
  7. Huh, to many replies in this thread! I can't keep up! Thanks for pointing that out hehe! :P
  8. Sounds to me like he doesn't know because it's more or less just up to ED finishing the Air to ground radar. :-) Edit: I take back this statement since apparently I'm as wrong as can be on this point! :D
  9. DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Discussion Wow, it must suck to be waiting on someone else to catch up when the module is otherwise more or less done. :P
  10. So uhm, how long do i have to wait until someone makes me a Warthog Compatible grip for the Viggen? :joystick:
  11. Cobra's new avatar The J 35 is just as likely as the JA 37, they were both in active service alongside the AJS 37. The J 35J was in active service until 1998 within the Swedish airforce.
  12. It's possible they will be including AI Fighter J 35 Draken to accompany the strike Viggen :-)
  13. For those of you interested in seeing a real life flying AJS-37, the operators of the only flying specimen just posted their schedule for this years airshow season! The page is in Swedish but it's not really rocket science to understand the schedule itself. :P SwAFHF Schedule They will be attending UK, Irish, Swedish, Austrian, Czech, Belgian and Polish shows this year! Plenty of opportunity for the european members of this community to see a real life Viggen! As a nice bonus the SK-35 Draken trainer will also attend most of the shows. :D Edit: The "JA" at the very far right in the table means it has been confirmed to attend, the others are planned but not finally confirmed appearances.
  14. Mind. Blown. :P
  15. To be honest, i'd say it should be on by default if the game installation is in english. Changing the textures to an english cockpit could be an option, the tooltips should be english by default. :P
  16. I would be impressed if the rudder still works though! :joystick:
  17. Dat black smoke though! :joystick:
  18. Well, as others have mentioned the entire design of the Viggen centered around a doctrine that pretty much allowed no loitering over the target area at all. :-) It was always designed for "quick get in and dump all you have on the target area and get out asap" type missions. :P
  19. As far as i've been able to tell the Rb05 is controlled by a stick on the right, the stick on the left is for radar control. :-)
  20. Well, you might as well just do it in Swedish, most people won't know the difference anyway! ;-)
  21. As i understood it you had three options: 1. The missile locks on the first target it finds after reaching it's cruising altitude 2. The missile locks on to the strongest ECM target (lock on jam as you said) 3. The missile selects a random target within a group of ships. Just like the doctrine of the time it appears to be designed to counter a large fleet of ships, so each pilot wouldn't necessarily have to select the specific ship to attack, the goal was to sink all of them. :P This is the way i interpret the manual, but I might have misunderstood completetly as always! :pilotfly:
  22. It isn't, it can just be used to ranging air targets. Regarding the capability of the ground mapping component of the radar it says the following: "The PS-37/A is a reconnaissance monopulse radar used for recon of sea and air targets and to aid navigation. it can also be used for: Updating the INS by referencing a known location Attacks with RB 04E Attacks with Rockets/Cannon against ground targets Attacks with IR Missiles against Air targets Attacks with Rb 05 against Air targets Obstacle indication" There probable is more detailed info on the section for each of the above mentioned weapons but i don't have the time to check right now. :P It's on page 25 of this document if anyone wants to read ahead. :P Edit: ok, so i read ahead a bit on the section about the Rb 05 and if i understand correctly what the radar does is measure the distance to the selected target and gives an "ok" when it is within the allowed firing range. I suspect it's more or less the same with all of the weapons. I would suspect this means that the radar can be used to scan for sea, air and ground targets. The Rb 04 (anti ship missile) will find a target autonomously when it has been dropped and it has reached its cruising altitude, in this case the radar is just used to tell when you are within the optimum firing range.
  23. I'll check the flight manual, just a second! :book:
  24. DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Discussion The AJS has a different radar than the AJ did. The AJS shares the same radar as the reconnaissance versions used, the Ericsson PS-371/A, while the AJ had the PS-37/A. :-)
