  1. Ah yes, the pride of this great nation!
  2. They still don't let stuff go to waste! Those very cannons are still used on the currently in service PATGB 203 (The Swedish Army designation of the Patria Pasi). xD As i understand it Cobra is still quite ill, although in recovery. I don't think well get to much info from LNS until he feels well enough to get back to work. :-)
  3. Haha, you are right about that!
  4. Some photos of the interior as well as some detail shots of the exterior of an AJ if anyone is interested. :-)
  5. Well there you go! Can't wait until it's sorted! :book:
  6. Most of it is probably locked up in the Swedish national archives, It's "just" a question of getting it declassified which i understand can take a while, sometimes months, to get approved. :-)
  7. You guys have a lot of work ahead of you converting that to DCS. ;-)
  8. Hmm, googling doesn't do much since i just find people trying to sell me trailers for trucks and tractors! :megalol:
  9. I'm not sure, but the word itself would translate to something like "pitch gear", so it could be related to the AFK or possibly the autopilot systems?
  10. Is suspected as much! This part was interesting to me. :-) The AFK appears to be used mostly for landing if i understand the modes correctly: Mode 1: Is engaged when the landing gear lever is set to IN, and sets a speed of 550km/h Mode 2: Is engaged when the landing gear lever is set to OUT and sets a speed suitable for landing at 12° AoA, that would be a normal landing. Mode 3: Is engaged when the landing gear lever is set to OUT and the switch α 15.5° is pressed. This sets a landing speed suitable for a 15.5° landing, as mentioned this would likely be a road base landing. I noticed from the diagrams that the landing gear lever is not on the front panel, instead it's on the left side panel at the very rear, that to me appears quite unusual. Btw, reading this manual gives me flashbacks to reading the SAAB 105 (SK-60) service manual in school. xD
  11. Is this a common way to land an aircraft or is this something fairly unique to to the Viggen? :-)
  12. Yup, 10 Meters ASL / 20 meters AGL was an accepted flight level. :P
  13. I dont think the Viggen has the smokeless ones, all i can find is the AJ using either the AIM-9J or the AIM-9B. :-/ The fighter variant carried the AIM-9L in later years (after 1986). [ame=http://www.robotmuseum.se/Mappar/Robothistorik/10_Jakt/ARM_RB24.pdf]Info here[/ame] (again, in swedish!)
  14. I'm fairly sure i read that this was possible the other day, but of course now i can't find the source!
  15. It has, but it doesn't have radar guided missiles. It can be used to assist in targeting the AIM-9 though.
  16. Ah yes, very good, I see you're already fluent, you're not going to have any problems reading the Speciell Förarinstruktion Fpl AJS-37. :pilotfly:
  17. In addition to this, we have this top secret thing were you have to think in Swedish and the plane will fly itself, the makers of Firefox actually got that idea from us!
  18. That adds the question wether the coordinate data will be editable in the mission editor or possibly the loadout menu. :-)
  19. You are indeed correct. :-)
  20. So it appears the Viggen has a "Hands Off Throttle And Stick" system :P
  21. I found the first part of the pilots manual for the AJS-37. It is of course in Swedish. :P [ame]http://www.flyghistoria.org/image_forum/2012-05-23_SFI_AJS37_flik_01.pdf[/ame]
  22. I guess that's true! Haha! XD
  23. The manual for the JA-37D is declassified? Cool! :D
  24. I read that a few if the late JA had a NATO compatible radios added for use since they were part of a NATO QRF of some kind. The finns are antennas for this radio. :-)
  25. I think this is the case, in Sweden you can request to have old documents declassified, but most of the case anything less than 40 years old is going to be very hard to get approved for declassification, and i'm pretty sure the information about Jaktlänk would still be classified and would hardly be approved anytime soon. :-/ I dont unfortunately, but i do have this handy chart of the specs of each model. xD
