I was using FRAPS to record. Replayed my track few times and recorded views I liked- I've used F2, F3 and F4 views and some static camera. After that I've used virtualdub for movie editing.

You can install open beta as it's separate install from normal 1.2.7 (do no install it to the same directory!). Open beta beta has a separate config folders also. Keep your 1.2.7 install- it will be updated to 1.2.8 when it moves out of beta version.

Yeah- even on my wife's old pc it still runs with decent fps.

1.2.8 version is not final and was released as a open beta. Open beta works as a separate install (you can get it from dcs website)

At last- free Su-25T got 6DOF cockpit and it looks great! Su-33 got the same treatment and I have to say that cockpit looks stunning. E8zdEELGj5c

I did that by giving infnatry team "embarking" advanced waypoint command and chose Uh-1H heli group. Uh-1H alslo had a advanced waypoint action "embarking" set. At heli landing point I've added "disembarking" command for infantry group. No clue if that's the right way to do it. That works for AI heli.

I think it's new (I haven't seen it in 1.2.7)- in 1.2.8 you can set up "embarking" task for ground troops (and helicopters). Looks very nice even though there is no animation for it, and troops are not visible inside heli. I wasn't able to get them to get inside my UH-1H (not suprised seeing how I fly it :)) HZ4FHs4oO-8

You can use free camera mode- LCTRL+F11. Position your camera using mouse and * and / (to move forward and back). To track your plane from that view just press "NUMPAD ," with view pointing toward your plane.

Thank you! I'm really happy that you guys liked it. Making that video took me around week. Many Su-25 were lost during filming:) Some fun facts about this movie: 1) SAM and AAA snow shot was filmed multiple times. I tried to attack from high alt, low alt ect. In the end I used first pass for the film. 2) Getting damaged plane shots was harder then it looked. First i tried to get hit by SAM, but I was either damaged a bit (not enough) or blown to pieces. When I switched to just AAA I had problem cause they missed a lot. 3) When I was filming that damaged plane shot it was a close call. Due to damage (fuel leak) my engines died just when I was filming. You can even hear them dying but it sounds like part of the music. 4) Non of my Kh-29L hit that commad center since I was quite busy dodgeing missiles. 5) That scene when i dodge avengers missiles was filmed around 20 times, but I'm still not quite happy with the result. 6) In the ship attack scene, I was vaporised many times before I was able to get a shot at him. 7) In convoy straffing shot- I forgot to switch on second SPPU pod. When I tried to do another run with both of my gunpods shooting I couldn't get a good pass. I was either too low or too high. So in the end I used first pass with one SPPU.

From DCS A-10C manual p. 133 "Note: For negative G flight, the A-10C has collector tanks that will supply the engines with sufficient fuel for 10 seconds of operation at MAX power. If you fly at negative G for more than 10 seconds, you risk the engines shutting down due to lack of fuel supply."

Maybe Combined Arms have some "arcade feel" but on the other hand it adds a new layer to DCS. Check out this short movie from MP session. It was recorded quite some time ago- in 1.2.1 version (I'm going to record something new soon) but still you can see more or less what CA is all about. I had a lot of fun making that video- hearing my friend flying A-10 yell to "stop moving that damn laser", watching bombs drop and destroy marked targets, and above that- sound of A-10 flying by. But you have to keep in mind that CA is quite simple- it's not Steel Beast Pro, or SAM simulator. dx1_7wcxPa8
