  1. I’d like to suggest an expansion to the current pilot profile system in DCS. Right now, the pilot profile does a good job of tracking stats like kills, flight time, and awarding virtual medals, ribbons, and badges. It’s a nice touch, but I think there’s potential to take it further and really enhance player immersion by shifting more focus to the pilot — not just the aircraft. What I’d Love to See: Customizable Pilot Avatars: Let us create and personalize our pilot with different gear, uniforms, helmet designs, etc. Walk-Around/Free Roam Mode: The ability to walk around our aircraft on the ramp, hangar, or airbase — even if it's limited to pre- and post-mission environments. Pilot Progression: Introduce a sense of progression — maybe a rank or leveling system tied to mission accomplishments, flight hours, or achievements. Unlockables: Achievements could unlock cosmetic items like custom patches, helmets, gloves, or callsigns that appear in briefings or cockpit decals. Increased Investment: These additions would help players feel more connected to their virtual persona — turning DCS into a more personal, lived-in experience, rather than just a series of disconnected aircraft operations. Why This Matters: Many of us love DCS not just for the flying, but for the fantasy of being a military pilot. By adding systems that reflect that identity, you give players more reason to keep flying, trying different missions, and investing time into the sim. Even for single-player users, this would add continuity and a deeper sense of “being there.” This wouldn’t need to interfere with the realism or sandbox nature of DCS — just give us a way to live in the world as a pilot, not just as a plane. Would love to hear what others think about this — and thanks for reading!
  2. The idx514 mod caused my game to crash so I removed it and haven't played itj since. Has that been resolved/removed? Also great c130 suggestion video...
  3. sorry to hear about cfrag just as i was starting to get into DML.. I do have a question tho.. i have a pulse zone that im triggering with a radio command that is using the explosion module to make flak on demand. Id like to be able to have the GM click it any time he wants to repeat the effects... but i can only get it to trigger once.
  4. oh thats neat.. glad to see that was included.. although hidden I know how to start MY WAY, but was a bit confused when the mission was rattling through stuff that i never really did. Thanks!
  5. i know these campaigns are pretty ancient.. but i was running through the basic practice for the startup mission.. and the talk through is pretty fast.. and new players would struggle to find the proper switches quickly.. getting the switches talked about highlighted would help alot, at least for practice versions.. so that during quals you can do it from memory. I dont expect any kind of update.. but just sayin
  6. Today the ix514 randomly broke ic.. and i wasn't even using the mission. I had to delete it.
  7. Managed to pull that ship file from a different miz. Seems like a great mission..however even with a 5090, 9800x3d, and 64gb ram..makes my frames drop badly. Ill have to mess with the graphics..just for this mission lol
  8. hey there.. trying to install everything for the mission.. but ITX514 file isnt available via the link on the forum post, nor the original link for the assets.
  9. Don't know if anyone will actually read this.. I have a motion rig, and when braking the albatross acts like the brakes are locking and unlocking .. as if i were constantly enabling and disabling the brake lever..but i have it held down constantly. Makes for quite a shaky experience. Wondering if this is normal?
  10. Flying corsair in vr and the crosshairs in the hud and the scope line from the bat bomb randomly "attach" to your gaze so that when you move your head they move along with it. Moving your gaze back to the center of the hud or to the center of the scope will cause them to snap back in place.
  11. No idea what caused its.. hopefully the track file helps? was trying to launch off the carrier when suddenly i was moving backwards.. looks like i was just floating in mid air as the carrier continued moving.. while i was not.. also my landing gear disappeared... totally twilight zone material. what.trk
  12. Hey there. You guys still accepting more? Discord invite is expired.
  13. Would love better illumination..would especially help the ww2 setting if flak bursts and search lights could illunlminate clouds, and if fires could illuminate a larger area to be more visible from the air.
