Hi folks, Is there a particular folder in DCS that contains all of our bindings? I want to backup the data. Thanks in advance. Wolf

Side Keyboards and panels for VR Users
Wolf1964 replied to Wolf1964's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've been thinking about using velco straps and securing the comms keyboard to my thigh next. I feel it would be easier to use there. So I need to find a thin piece of plastic to mount it on with ordinary velcro first. -
Hi Folks, I wanted to simplify things with some big buttons for various functions while using VR that I could place close by. I bought this piece of kit and I've been using it for single player comms. I just programmed the F keys into it and the \ for the comms menu and it works great. There are 3 dials on there too but I haven't got uses for them yet but I'm sure I will have as I develop certain abilities in the game. I don't need a powered USB 3 connection for these items. The smaller buttons are the width of my desktop and light enough to velcro in place. They're called custom keyboards and you program the keys at www.sdcx-tech.com and you don't need to have an account with them - the process is free. I bought these on sale with Temu. The lights can be turned on or off and colours can be changed. Find the current keyboard command for the function you want in the DCS control area and program that command into the big buttons via the website above. It's very easy to do. I have a Viper panel too and that takes care of my other basic needs: Undercarriage, flaps, arrestor hook, loading bay (C130), air to air refuelling boom etc...and there are still many unused swithces on there. Find the device in USB Game Controllers and enable 'Virtual' buttons by putting a tick in the box. DCS recognises the device without any programming but you'll need to tick that box for windows to recognise the undercarriage lever etc. Both bits of kit make life easier in VR for me and I can program in different functions as my needs change. Do an online search and find the cheapest prices before placing an order.

If the UK map encompassed all the former RAF and RN bases in the South West, eg Cornwall, as well as Wales, do you think would be of interest to other players enough to make it viable? There are quite a few bases in the area that could be used for WW2, Cold War and just for modern flying. St Mawgan, Portreath, St Eval, Coldrose, St Athen, Valley, to name a few. This could be an extension of the Channel map.

It's only for LFA7 because it's one of the most used Low Flying Areas in the UK for us and we get a lot of visiting aircraft coming through too, particularly when Cobra's on. I thought someone would be more likely to have a go at a smaller project. Have any of the other terrains done a whole country?

Okay, using 1.0.7 now. Many thanks to Enrico. Bugs: the canards flicker like humming bird wings. First missiles don't work well at all. It's flyable and looks good.. refuels when parked. Doesn't rearm. Radar works intermittently. Comms menu works. Air to air refuelling boom doesn't retract but stops the canards flapping when extended. The HUD is a huge improvement, you can read your instruments in bright light. Can't wait for the official module...please create a map of the mach loop to go with it.

Any chance of a map of the Mach Loop, LFA7, Wales, UK in please? It's one of the most photographed Low Flying Areas in the UK and I feel it would be very popular, as we have gotten a large range of aircraft coming through over the years - fixed wing and rotary. The Mach Loop is a series of Welsh valleys used for low-level military training flights, located between Dolgellau and Machynlleth, from which it gets its name. Part of Low Flying Area 7 (LFA7), it offers NATO forces, including the RAF, a challenging environment to practice flyinnullg as low as 250 feet (76 meters). You would only need 1 airfield in there: RAF Valley. It takes a Eurofighter approximately 6 minutes to get around the loop. Regards Wolf

Hi mate. It was the V1.7 that the Black Owls shared. I've got it now...and it works with the latest version of DCS. Now I need to setup the radar correctly...it doesn't show aircraft targets.

The EF mods don't work on the latest version of DCS. I run 2 versions an old one for the EF and the latest for everything else. That's why I'm trying to find a player that is using V 1.0.7. Yes, the original Modders have stopped working on it...but there must be other EF fans with the mod. I need one of them to share their mod.

These links are no good mate. They are all dead. I'm trying to find people using the Eurofighter mod of 1.0.7 or later that can zip up the file and make it available here please.

I have 2 versions of DCS on my system now. 2.9 and an older version for the Eurofighter. Now I'm trying to find the last version of the Eurofighter. Does anyone have the zip file for Eurofighter Typhoon by Lechuzas Negras v1.0.72 please?

Eurofighters on their way out. RAF Coningsby. The second image is in LFA7. Images 3 and 4 are going out on night manoeuvres. 5 is practising for airshow season above RAF Coningsby. The images are mine. Feel free to share but do not adapt or claim ownership. Thanks. Wolf

No...so many software providers are trying this on...and so many people have left them for other options. Besides, I've spent money to support DCS for a reason...to help them develop. I and other people on low incomes might not be able to afford a subscription based DCS and it might throw up legal arguments for people that have bought modules.

Version 1.1 was the EF mod. It worked in an older version of DCS. The people releasing the mod were lechuzas negras but they're not contactable. I have 2 versions but neither work properly - 1.0.69 and 1.0.5. I'm running 2 versions of DCS - an older version compatible with the EF and the latest version. The old version isn't updated - only the new one. I can't find where the files are either for 1.1 or 1.0.72 of the EF. Any help locating the either of the newer EF downloads would be appreciated.

I'm looking for V1.1 or anything newer than 1.0.69.

Has anyone got the last version that was released of the Eurofighter - 1.1?
-
Yes mate. I'll give it a go. Update on the unit too...Windows recognises when it's plugged in and removed with a sound notification but I don't know what the OS has named it.

Is DCS flight panels a separate piece of software?

I was also worried about the noise the rig makes from my neighbours point of view, as well as the weight of it being in an upstairs room, 150kg. Also, just found a vendor for these rigs online that's UK based. It'll be worth making contact with them, as I'd assume they have a right setup for eemo purposes somewhere? https://simreality.co.uk/pages/about-us. On the issue of software, there are 2 programs that I've read about. It doesn't look like either are free...one's definitely subscription based.

From what I've read online, it's fine tuned in dependent on you (height, weight etc) and the rig software, as well as the game software you use. I've read good things about their customer support for PC users. They can do a remote connection and sort out the settings for you.
