  1. I really hope that the relevant people see this and implement it in an upcoming update
  2. This is an awesome project, it's a shame the CAC Sabre isn't in DCS, it'd be a fantastic match/equal for the MiG-19 as it stands
  3. Tim is the only person outside of a Bell aircraft engineer, or actual Huey pilot I trust regarding the DCS module at this stage, dude's grasp of the mechanics, how the data presents itself, and how to apply it to DCS makes me wish I'd payed more attention in maths
  4. More documentation, turns out according to different documentation, namely the Standard Aircraft Characteristics manual for the F-86F-25 thru -40 states on page 3 that it could indeed carry the above 1000lb bomb F-86F-25_thru_-40_Sabre_SAC_-_1_October_1956.pdf
  5. If I'm reading the charts correctly and looking at the current weight of the F-86 in game the "basic weight" (as per the above definition which is full ammo, [no pilot assuming 230lb pilot as per Pilot manual referenced above in T.O.F-86F-1] is 11585lbs) is still set too low somehow at 11669lbs (assuming pilot weight removed this rounds down to 11,439lbs) which is still 149lbs under weight. "Basic weight" conditions in mission editor vs Gross weight conditions as per mission editor As a side note, the max internal fuel appears to be off by 16lbs according to the "Standard Aircraft Characteristics" chart for an F-86F-25 through F-40 "air superiority mission" typical mission graph and thankfully only 1lb off according to the T.O.F-86F-1 pilot manual. Here's hoping that the weight issue is sorted out soon On a side note, given that this post from May 2022 states the guns are modelled at only half their weight in the code and the only updates the Sabre has received in the last 2 years have been to the controls effectiveness/IR signature/clickable switches and campaign missions, I wonder how it would affect the overall weight taking that into account?
  6. These look really fun, I hope we'll get them eventually
  7. Hi all, just a quick post highlighting some missing ordinance that the Sabre historically was equipped with as per manuals for the F-86-E series and F-86-F35 (the Sabre we have in game). As per the manual for the F-86-F-35 and F-86-E-1 shown above, the Sabre should have access to the M65A1 bomb with the T142 fin assembly on pylons 4 and 7, currently in-game the Sabre has access to the M-64A1 general purpose bomb and M177 "Demolition" bomb on these pylons. F-86-F-35 documentation F-86-E-1 documentation Currently in game the only M65A1 that is in game I believe is part of the WW2 assets or is a droppable ordinance from the AI B-52/B-17 You can see what I'm assuming to be the 1000lb bomb above, used in this video by the Grim Reapers showcasing the AI B-17 below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKKNpg2olFM The M-65A1 W/T142 fin can be seen here in this manual of ordinance (OP-1280 Aircraft bombs) Thanks in advance for adding this ordinance option as I was surprised to learn it wasn't already in the sim. 8. A reminder that people also stated the Gazelle flight model was correct based on "feel", feel means nothing if the numbers don't match.
