Pulling out the left red knob on the AchS-1 clock and using the mouse-wheel to adjust the time make the digit move CCW regardless whatever way you move it.

Same. The trim doesn't work on hotas nor keyboard. Does work by dragging it with the mouse.

Not for me. I'm on standalone and by disabling the remastered I am able to use the original F-5 at full fps on the newest Kola map.

Or if you want to fly the old Tiger in the up-to-date version of DCS, you can just disable the F-5 Remastered in the Module Manager.

The true E-6B did exist and was commonly used in WW2. -

They use it in the textbook Air Navigation from Army Air Forces Training Command, published in 1944, and call it "E-6B" at e.g p182 (https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/wwii-air-navigation-manual.20828/). Yes, but it still doesn't work (or at least last I tried a few weeks back). For me learning a ww2 navigators job is very appealing. Piloting is fun, but to also be able to be a navigator with an E6B and such sure is something else. Doing low level attack runs in bad weather in a Viggen is fun but that is 70s tech and feels like cheating. Celestial navigation with a virtual sextant would be appreaciated too. The proper stars are already in there I'm told. -

Any news about the drift meter? Doing some proper ww2 navigation would be really interesting. And a windscreen wiper for rainy bad weather landings. -
I find the Channel still to be more detailed and immersive - especially on the English side.

In the film 633 Squadron they always wheel land with full flaps.

Last year the military bought back nearby Gunnarn (now Storuman airport) so maybe Åmsele will be reactivated too. I really hope the road base system will be possible in the Kola map. It really is a missed opportunity from Heatblur but they lost interest in the Viggen a long time ago.

BTW, an example of a wartime airbase is Field 67 Åmsele. Decommissioned and sold in 2005 but with runways and readypads still visible. All types of maintenance could be done there. One long runway for heavy transporters and 3 smaller for the fighters. Hopefully it'll be in the Kola map on Friday. :-) https://kartor.eniro.se/?c=64.577233,19.316711&z=13&l=aerial https://www.forgottenairfields.com/airfield-amsele-eomsele-608.html An article about it in a local newspaper: https://www.vk.se/2019-12-26/nar-amsele-hade-en-storflygplats-for-kalla-kriget

Many AJ/S/AJS Viggen peacetime airports had multiple runways: F7, F15, F11, F13, F10 at least. And all(?) bigger wartime bases.

Cant taxi straight, cant maintain straight run during takeoff
Munin replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
Using the keyboard 8, 9, 0-keys you can control the engines separately. 8 selects left, 9 both, 0 right. When selecting both (9) again an analog throttle synchronizes both engines so it can be an abrupt change it you don't watch it, while using the numpad + and - as throttle the offset is kept. I use it to do tight turns while taxing. -
Viggen in Service - Viggen crashes next to a Russian battlecruiser

I remember that one. Here is the 13-page official report (in Swedish) from the civilian Accident investigation authority: https://www.havkom.se/assets/reports/Swedish/ml1998_2.pdf -
From today's newsletter: Mosquito FB VI. This year we continue working on the features from the Early access list. Including AI crew members and the Drift recorder. I am really looking forward to the drift recorder. Doing some proper navigator stuff would be a welcome addition to just being a mere driver. Together with more realistic winds and turbulence, icing and spherical map - and a functioning windshield wiper - would add a new dimension to the sim. Being able to put Lorenz-transmitters on ww2-runways a la mobile tacan is also on the wish list.

Funny note: I sat beside an ex real JA-pilot who jumped in and took off in DCS and way up in the sky just couldn't understand why the electronics didn't work. The generator switch was something they never touched. It was always left on.

I've been operating out of the grassfields in Normandy since they were added. Works with Viggen too (not IRL).

No everything is set to 0. Maybe because I have flown almost only warbirds the past 2 years and are used to be gentle and not firewalling the throttle. These birds are ridiculously overpowered. Making sure I take off and land into the wind is also something that helps. AI and ATC often (most of the time?) don't. -

I just tried the Mossie and was quite surprised how easy it was for me to take-off in. Put some curves and dead zones on my (crappy) joystick, 50% fuel, no flaps, a rolling start with slow throttle up to maybe 70%, using the rudders with stick in stomach until 80-100 mph with liftoff after ~1000 m (no wind). Didn't change any trim until airborne when I had to trim down quite a lot. -
1st Sept 2023 Sale -- is it really down to US$9.99?!
Munin replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in DCS: Normandy 2.0
When I'm logged out the Nor2 map is $48 instead of $60 (or $47.99 vs $59.99) while the 1944 is "Not available".
