  1. How much is known of the seeker? For example average power, HPRF/MPRF, beamwidth?
  2. The drag penalty of the gridfins is across all regimens relevant to a/a missiles. They do start to come into their own above M4'ish but no a/a missile stays in this regime for long. Gridfins in general have to be built to an effective mach range outside of which they have serious drag penalties. Even in that regieme you have more drag in part due to higher area then a monoplane design. They have their advantages but drag is NOT one of them. There is a reason why only two a/a missiles use them and why the R37 and R77M abandoned them. link to analysis doc from which above are taken: https://apps.dtic.mil/sti/citations/ADA509444
  3. Also can ED try this again now that the track system has been improved I highly suspect that track file issues have a role to play here in the inability to replicate.
  4. Are the aircraft DLZ's not taking this into account?
  5. Would be nice to have in game. We need more weapons and units in general.
  6. Статистика тяги и сопротивления С-300 была скорректирована для лучшего соответствия доступным данным летных графиков. Это стало значительным улучшением кинематических характеристик системы. На сколько мне известно, это были единственные внесенные изменения.
  7. I think there is a very effective solution that could be implemented relatively quickly without a major rework (which I think we still need) @NineLine The big problem is a lack of feedback on damage and the fact that stuff remains operational till fully destroyed both of these need addressed. How hard would it be to add a small white smoke effect and hatches opening animation for more serious damage. Say if 50% or more of hp lost after one penetrating hit event? For example there is quite a bit of footage from Ukraine of penetrating hits often resulting in white smoke pouring out causing the crew to immediately bail out. Then after some time a cookoff could occur (just make this a dice roll as well that's all we really need at this point) playing an explosion effect and thick black smoke with normal fire effects. null This is the direction the team should be thinking imo. And I don't see any reason that the current code wouldn't allow this kind of system.
  9. I personally foia'd the doc this number came from the 97000lb-sec is correct.
  10. The 97000lb-sec of total impulse is accurate per foia'd documents to the AIM-54 MK47 motor.
  11. This change is absolutely in the right direction. It puts DCS far closer to WT/BMS/IL2 in terms of their solutions for spotting difficulties. You have to compensate for the fact that your looking at stuff on a monitor and not with your actual eyes. The old system was not good and a reversion back to it would be a massive step backwards.
  12. I have a few issues with the current radar model and want to know the plans and reasons for certain decisions. 1-HPRF rear aspect detection HPRF can see objects that are cold even through the SLC however this is not the case for HPRF in the hornet anymore. In the Hornet it is essentially nill at sub 4-5nmi over open ocean at 15K feet. SLC and the MLC should not be major issues in this scenario. The M2K in the same scenario sees the target at ~60nmi (+-5nmi) its max head on detection range, and the APG63 report that ed has in lookdown it was 20-30nmi over land. *Opening rate was 115kts to get out of MLC fliter for both hornet and M2K. Target was a hornet. ^Intro To Airborne Radar https://www.amazon.com/Stimsons-Introduction-Airborne-Radar-Electromagnetics/dp/1613530226/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=87xHA&content-id=amzn1.sym.bc5f3394-3b4c-4031-8ac0-18107ac75816&pf_rd_p=bc5f3394-3b4c-4031-8ac0-18107ac75816&pf_rd_r=PVYJ1V3ZD01C7NGMW1VA&pd_rd_wg=n71wx&pd_rd_r=577c209e-68dd-46ba-93f9-d97806329953&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m 2-MPRF STT track stability https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1030876724415709184/1116398606648352840/2023-06-08_19-07-32_Trim.mp4 2023-06-08_19-07-32_Trim.mp4 Target was in an orbit it did not try to stay in the notch. Yet its a guaranteed loss of lock every time, lets also note that this is over ocean in a level scenario i'm not even sure the MLC would be strong enough to actually cause a break lock... I've tested it an had the ai in a 7G break turn it should have come out of the MLC (if there was a strong enough spike even) in a mater of seconds. Yet it was always a loss of lock, target was f18 at 15K feet over water. Range was 30nmi. Is track memory broken/not implemented? Will there be a more accurate simulation of MLC strength and width in the future? How are tracking gates currently modeled? How is range folding currently modeled? 3- RCS differences I think a big issue impacting the radar model that needs worked on is the RCS values. They need to be more varied and larger for larger aircraft. 5m^2 for a flanker/eagle is just not accurate a minimum of 15 to represent the average frontal/rear would make faaaar more sense. And they need at a minimum a side on RCS increase multiplier. Razbam has this in their own model added, will ED be adding this as well. ^ work by https://basicsaboutaerodynamicsandavionics.wordpress.com/2016/04/12/radar-electronic-countermeasure/ 4 - Terrain impact on MLC and SLC Is this going to be modeled? ^Intro To Airborne Radar https://www.amazon.com/Stimsons-Introduction-Airborne-Radar-Electromagnetics/dp/1613530226/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=87xHA&content-id=amzn1.sym.bc5f3394-3b4c-4031-8ac0-18107ac75816&pf_rd_p=bc5f3394-3b4c-4031-8ac0-18107ac75816&pf_rd_r=PVYJ1V3ZD01C7NGMW1VA&pd_rd_wg=n71wx&pd_rd_r=577c209e-68dd-46ba-93f9-d97806329953&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m
  13. Excellent work thanks for taking the time and doing this!
  14. @ChizhНа сколько продвинута работа по модернизации Р-27? Я знаю, что планируется установить более точную систему автопилота и перейти на новую систему моделирования полета.
  15. @Why485 Thanks for doing this I can't thank you enough. I'd wanted to do this for a long time but i'm just so catastrophically busy irl I never got the time. I've been talking about spotting issues on other forums and this one for years. Including issues with the dot system that was added.
  16. What is the change to the current behavior of the 27 I don't quite get what it means?
  17. Yeah fully agreed now that i've reminded my self of what each block did. A proper implementation of the latter versions would be quite good. As it would allow the ship to engage multiple targets, potentially even more then guidance channels. Just so long as it was sorted to have a guidance channel there for the last 5-10 seconds of flight. I think the game is aiming for a 2005-2010 timeframe, at least on ED's end, and the BLKIIIB would be what the ships of this era used. The small mods of this version are things that aren't particularly relevant to DCS but the combined IR/terminal SARH seeker would be.
  18. Depends on the version of the missile but I'd love to see the more modern versions of the system in game and the ability to change out what version a ship has in the ME.
  19. Are you allowed to share this document or at least this part of it? Or worst case the name of the document.
  20. It makes no sense that it doesn't track in doppler with a velocity gate. The AIM-7 can do this there is no reason the AWG-9 doesn't as well its a PD radar it is getting a good doppler return. Search and track are not the same thing the MLC filter makes sense for search not for track where your Vgate is going to reject anything outside of it. The way you had it before made a lot more sense then it does now.
  21. Then would it even be capable of working in cluttered environments, aka even the slightest lookdown angle? Without a speedgate it wouldn't be able to filter out any clutter returns.
  22. So just to confirm the 530 doesn't track the target via a speedgate. Just the radar returns?
  23. Agreed it really seems like its one set loft angle for all circumstances? Sure this angle could be a possible loft angle but for this situation its highly unlikely.
  24. Here's a source for this Also the max launch G of 2G isn't accurate:
