  1. @Flappie Thanks for the reply. I have asked our server managers if we can run a non-mods version but it seems to revert will be a bit of a mission for the test so I am looking at trying it on my own machine to see what happens. I also forgot to report that we have our vehicles with auto start enabled so I am going to try with that off.
  2. Had a great first time session on the DangerDogz server yesterday with a couple of my squad mates working on the tanks, both modern and WWII. All three of us had no engine sounds in all of the tanks we tried, Abrahams, T-80, Sherman's, Panzers. Gun sounds were fine, just no tank engines. A couple of the trucks we also tried (can not remember which ones) were ok. Server is running the open beta version. There were mods installed on the server and obviously our machines, which I know you don't like for bug reports but all we had on the server is the A4-E, the Bronco and the T-45, nothing else. These are all long established mods which I feel sure would not be a cause.

Salute As I embark on getting to grips with my brand new X56 and also mapping keys for the first time I thought it would be useful to have an overlay I could use to write on what I have assigned to the switches (I think I have changed the layout 10 times already and only had it a few days!). I looked around the net to see if I could find anything but could not see one (perhaps there is a reason why no one has done this before... ) anyway, this morning I set about making one. Its not pretty, no "CAD" used here! but for a learning tool it probably will have a short life. If you print it out just remember to print "actual size" and not "fit to page".   4. Salute, I am just trying to get my head round driving the Sa15 as a human operator. I have watched the video by Grim Reaper and got the basics from that. I know how to stop emitting, but how do (can I) close the spinning radar down? I tried the "radar off" command but did not seem to work? Cheers DD_Friar
  5. Salute, Please excuse this post if it discussed someone else. Point me in the right direction and I will go on my way. I have recently installed DCS, Combined Arms and the World War II Asset pack with the specific reason of looking at what DCS can offer me in the realm of the World War 2 tank. The equipment list of drivable units is very impressive and the quality of the ground objects (houses / towns etc) is definitely better than the world of Il2 GBS and Tank Crew of which I am a regular player and mission builder. The options available on the tanks is not so good however, no "Commander" view from an open turret, driver not "inside" the tank (I wholeheartedly apologise if these features are available and I just not found the correct key combo yet), if even if just behind a visor without the interiors. Tank Crew does this a whole lot better. I like the look of the mission editor and can see what could be achieved. But my question is there a document anywhere that lists what the development team may have planned for this module?
