  1. Anyways, what are all the differences between Lot 20 and Lot 29 (Last Lot that came off the line with APG-73) Hornets?
  2. IIRC the USMC has said time and time again that they'd rather fly the Legacy Hornets instead of the Super Hornets. And the USMC has no interest in doing a ton of work for the Super Hornet (Logistics, Maintenance, ETC) when the F-35s are replacing everything by 2030. That's just 8 years out.
  3. As the USN has shown with VFA-97, they are entirely willing to retire a Super Hornet for an F-35. So, with the USMC's limited budget, they had to buy only F-35s. Their thinking was because of the aforementioned "There's nothing super about the super hornet" why buy F/A-18E/Fs and replace them with F-35s when you can just get the Panthers wholesale? (The F-35 is a better dogfighter, BVR fighter, basically better in everything. And yes, the F-35 can beat an F-18 in a one circle.) What exactly is that difference? None of ED's employees are in Russia anymore IIRC and even if they were the Russian MoD knows there's an FC3 MiG-29 that gives a near-perfect simulation so it won't be a big risk.
  4. VFA-34 was the last one, and it left carrier service in 2018. The F-35 never was fully introduced until 2019. Yes, they were never deployed full time. I believe this makes it seem like the Super Hornet is more necessary. The MiG-29SMT and MiG-29M (The current variants) are very different than a MiG-29A 9-12, so that may not be totally right. And finally, I can't find a way to differentiate between the Super Hornet Lots. Can someone please tell us all the differences between the Lot 20 and Lot 29 Hornet?
  5. I know that. At the same time, if they make the MiG-29 9-12 and come under fire by the Russians, it wouldn't be the first time they've come under fire from a government (See: ED employee gets some F-16A/B manuals and ends up being considered as one of the most dangerous criminals in the world. No, I'm not joking.)
  6. The MiG-29 9-12 needs to happen. The Super Hornet also needs to happen because it gives us a great simulation of post-2006 carrier ops. Especially because in 2018 we only had Super Hornets on carriers (Not including the Marine F/A-18A++/C+ Lot 20 Hornets)
  7. I get it. The F-16A would be interesting. I'd say that a Block 52 would have to be bundled with the F-16 Block 50 if ED makes it. It's so little work that it'd be a free upgrade. Some others have gotten a weird popup on their DCS homepage of an F-16A module (Which doesn't exist right now) so what was that about?
  8. Hey @Spino do you think a Block 52 would be a better option? F-16As would probably give us nice toying with the "Max Power" switch, but the Block 52 is no different than the Block 50 save for a few minor engine changes which have been modeled by the IDF mods team for the F-16I so it'd be a lot more easy.
  9. Problem is, we're getting a Lot 25 or Lot 29 Hornet. If we get a 25, there's still a ton of changes to avionics and flight model. If we get a 29 (The first Lot 29 rolled off the line with APG-73) then there's an absolutely crazy amount of changes. There's also the programming convention of not usually copying and pasting code, so the Lot 25 would probably be started from scratch, and the Lot 29 is an almost certainty to be started from scratch. In short, I'm saying that it'll be a ton of work to make a Super Hornet module, so you might not be seeing it very soon. I think world events may have put the brakes on it, but the MiG-29A is so unclassified that ED might actually be working on it anyway.
  10. Oh, maybe we're getting a more advanced one. So, what are the differences of the Lot 29 from the Lot 21 Super Hornet?
  11. The Lot 25 is the last Lot before there's the APG-79 and we can't go further. The Lot 25 has more advanced weapons than the Lot 20 in game. The Ka-50 Black Shark III is coming soon. I wouldn't bet on ED deciding "Yeah, you know what, let's update our old code instead of adding something new" like the Super Hornet. It looks weird to see the Legacy Hornet in the Top Gun-style trailers for ED, so the Super Hornet has a large customer base and I'd be willing to bet that it'd be the most popular DCS module. A third party could always make the Super Hornet. The MiG-15 was made by Belsimtek, but the MiG-19 was made by RAZBAM, so the Super Hornet may not be made by Eagle Dynamics. Exactly. The Hornet and Viper are about to be wrapped up and ED needs to get something new fast. The Super Hornet would be perfect for the job.
  12. In the Legacy Hornet, it's 1.6. I believe it's 1.8 in the Rhino Lot 25 that we're probably getting.
  13. Question: Does the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle come with an afterburner detent?
  14. I am considering whether to use VR, but I want to know something: If you're in a clickable cockpit (E.G. F/A-18C) and using VR, if you try to click a button with the mouse, will the cursor show up on the VR screen?
  15. I never said there was no change in the flight model, I said there was no major change in the flight model. If the Lot 20 is a dominant one circle fighter but not a good 2 circle one, it's not like that will change for the Super Hornet. I also never said it was the same as the Legacy Hornet's, I just said that it is so similar. A person who can cold start a Legacy can cold start a Super. They can still dogfight. They can still BVR fight. They can do pretty much everything that they could do in the Legacy Hornet.
  16. I think the Block 52 is available as an AI plane. Is it? If so, no classified trouble.
  17. Oh, come on. The T/W ratio is nearly the same; they're both Hornets, so there's no major change in the flight model. I know there's a new cockpit, and I neglected the 3d model of the cockpit, but it will still not take long to make the cockpit because it is just so similar to the Legacy Hornet's. Don't worry about the 3d model of the F/A-18E/F/G, CJS has that nailed down. This is a lot less than a year's work.
  18. I like your F-15EX mod, as a 16 AMRAAM aircraft is a nice thing to have on your side, and a great challenge for anything that isn't stealth. However, would it be possible to make it fully look like an F-15EX by adding engine guards?

I'm working with what I have at the moment.  My F-15EX mod borrows the closest 3D model we have in DCS - the F-15E.  I do not own that model and therefore cannot edit it.  I would love to replace it with a real F-15EX model, and the same with the cockpit, but both of those things would take a lot of time and effort, and unfortunately I have neither.  If someone is willing to help me make an EX model and do the texturing/animations, it might happen, but otherwise the mod will use the F-15E external model for the forseeable future.  On the upside, I do plan at some point to fix the cockpit issue, and add AMBER racks and the outer wing launchers for a full load of 20 AMRAAMs.

Maybe you can ask the community to make an F-15EX model. It would sure be nice to make it look like an F-15EX.

  19. They have a few new avionics, 2 new weapons pylons, and a new airframe (Plus new engines, but the flight model shouldn't change too much). The F/A-18E/F Lot 26, otherwise, is the same as the F/A-18C Lot 20.
  20. Well ED's not really the type of people who'll make guesses at classified tech like that.
  21. The G is an Electronic Attack aircraft. For all we know, the G can jam an entire squadron (And a few SAM sites) while killing a few SAM sites and aircraft. This = Classified so hard even Trump couldn't ever get hold of it. We can get an E/F Lot 26 (The last fully unclassified F/A-18) but no more than that.
  22. YES!!! Thank you so much for it!!!!! (On another note, and I will not stop mentioning this until ED does something, why doesn't ED make a flyable F-16CM Block 52+? It has a different engine than the DCS one and that's it! The F100-PW-229 is not classified, because the Flaming Cliffs 3 F-15C has it, so why don't they make it to make players have a proper experience flying Polish, Greek, and Pakistani F-16s?)
  23. Wait, there's an AI UH-60? On another note, the UH-60L mod maker says that he cannot get the weapons to work. However, the AH-6J mod has functional weapons if I remember correctly, so why exactly can it not work?
