thanks guys : please don't waste any more of your time on Me with this issue , I have read it all and tried to comprehend it all to no avail , beyond my capability's , tried what i thought was suppose to do = No Joy and then DCS no start =something about bad image ?? so I reversed engineered it back to before i messed it up , ran it / cleaned it up also DSC repair just incase , all works well again butter smooth ,, i Give Up , will just remap bindings for P47 / F4U and F6F when released and forget the rest , DCS just seems to be too much work =Its always something ?? I'm not super computer illiterate , I have gotten myself out of trouble a few times even a few blue screens of death , and fumbled thru a few issues with the help of some from here. But I just don't feel like beating my head against the wall anymore ! --- I have learned one other thing == Now I know why I Drink and swear so much !! before i bought into DCS I was a Priest at Father Bobs Orphanage , no drinking or foul language / sang in the church quire with the Nuns / cookie sales with the girl scouts / rescued cats from trees == now look at me ?? but i still do rescue the Animals in need .... DCS cant take that from me !!! === seems my Gin and Tonic is empty - that was quick !! must get another . thanks guys for trying to help == Cheers ..

Thanks Everyone for your inputs ..when I get some time in the next few days or so ---And it Looks like I'm Gonna Need it ?? I will give all these a good read and try to understand it all / decipher / and give it a try , although the old HD has been cleaned out also with a fresh win 11 install updated from 10, all I have to work with will be the saved game folders I saved on a backup external HD ...

So here is the problem --i have saved all my aircraft input folders -- bought a new computer win 11 --reinstalled DCS -- as expected all input bindings are back to stock ... so now no mater where i replace my saved input folders , either in the saved game folders or the ED core folders . still have stock binding .. saved files did not change anything ---so it looks like spendings hours and hours re-doing the bindings == PLEASE SAY IT AINT SO ? Have i done it all wrong or ?? === Not looking forward to re-binding Everything ===any ideas or Help --Thank you ...

auto start can only be assigned to key pad , not any controllers .. hopefully they will fix this so it will be same as other A/C ,, and by the way its not the only item that cant be assigned to controllers , but only keyboard ? === fix please ..

Any Idea when this might be ready for use ?? Inquiring minds would like to know ..

The P-47 is such a good module, but it is Missing something .........a Radial Eng Signature item. .....Smoke belch on startup .. there's gotta be some oil polled in those lower cylinder heads? ED === Can we get some Smoke Please??

Success !! I guess i had it all backwards , The reading of the Symlink instructions was a bit confusing .. and i ended up making the symlink on the D drive .. "wrong " other way around is what was needed .. so after your last reply .. I slept on it thinking and the light bulb in the brain flashed ... ( I had done it all backwards ) so i found this on the internet in the morning = same thing as your last reply .. ========================================================================= I use this shell extension on Windows: https://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html You need to put your data folder in the other drive, right click the folder and select "Pick Link Source", then drop at DCS folder as a symbolic link. This way, you are going to have a link in DCS that points to the folder on your other drive. ============================================================================= So in the end once i understood how it works , it was just SO easy .. download tool / configure it / drag and drop terrain file from C to D drive / delete C file / rt click on the D file and send Symlink back to C , and everything works Butter Smooth .. So I learned 2 Tricks in the same week . Good Deal ' So now I reinstalled the Caucasus Terrain map, then moved and linked all 5 of my terrains and gained back 165 GB of Free Disk space == good to go / no need for bigger HD for long time now . if ever ?

so as a test .. you say delete the original terrain file from C , then just copy and paste the symbolic link file from D back to C ... == Or use that tool again to send it back ?? how do you create the link back to C

i tried that and the i lost the terrain ... I just rt clicked and deleted a terrain file from C , and when i started the game could not fly anything related to that map ... I will check back in the morning ..

Yes .. from the DCS / MODS/TERRAIN folder , all the terrain files but not the folder . I see the terrain files in both C and D drives , and the ones in D have the little symbolic link symbol at the edge of the files.. everything works , but I saved No GB space at all ...

and just what , pray tell are "tbe" files?? i just used the Link Shell Extension tool and made symbolic links of all my terrain files from the DCS Mod folder in "C" to the "D" drive ....

Bit confused here , so i just did a Symbolic link with one map as a test from C to D . but C drive still shows same amount of used space , so if it does not free up GB space ? what is the point of doing this , I thought it was to free up disk space ? should i maybe have done the Hard link instead ?

Hey guys what do you think of this other option ? I did look into the cloning of the M2 NVMe drive and that seems doable for me .. but now i think there might be a faster and easier option with a portability capability ( If there is No Downside and Would it Work ? ) to hook up Via a USB C port an external 2 TB NVMe drive , and then just transfer or copy / paste the entire DCS folder to the external ? it would then be portable to a future new computer the whole DCS folder complete with all setting / bindings and no need to re download . and it would keep the operator sys on a separate drive .. what do you think ?? or is it just opening a new can of worms ?.

C drive is about 1/2 full . and B drive only about 5 or 10% full . don't want to move DCS to the SSD as I believe the NVMe drive is faster then the SSD ? even though the C drive still has a bit over 500 GB free , As Foolish as it sounds !!! I want to keep it free for IF or WHEN or EVER , DCS releases WWII Marianas and some new warbirds or Maps ?? ---I know , I know -- Keep Dreaming and Good Luck with That .. Thanks again

Thanks Silver Devil : I would like to try that if there is an EASY way ? all i have looked up is very long drawn out process with command prompts and such , sounds dangerous for the not so tech savvy ? -- i have win 10 home with 1 "C" drive NVMe 1 tb and a second "D" drive SSD 2 TB . if you might have an easy link you cold share ? === would be appreciated . would just move some terrains there .. I think you are asking how to arm your bombs as to not Frag yourself when they go off ? when you select the ground crew to rearm / refuel , after you select which pylon to load , with say a 500 GP bomb , the arming screen appears and there is a small yellow / orange triangle tic next to the bomb , click that and the Fusing page will appear .. i select the following and you can still do low level bombing safely .. nose fuse well = Mk 244 mod 1 has a 4 sec delay . tail fuse well = AN M116 has a 5 sec delay . i tried to take a screen shot , but for some reason it wont take the pic of the secondary page overlay on screen ?? =========== is this what you wanted to know ?? sorry I don't have any tutorial , just trial and error ..
