  1. I have had good luck switching seats only when I have the aircraft moving above ETL. It still sometimes turns into unusual attitude recovery practice, but I haven't had a crash doing it that way yet.
  2. Personally, the only big thing I noticed when the engine model changed is I no longer have to babysit the exhaust gas temperature. With the new model, a lot of people have had trouble popping the rotor off when exceeding the torque limit. Keeping torque (mostly) below the redline and avoiding violent control inputs when near the line have made that a non-issue for me. I am not a real pilot so I have no idea if the old or new engine model is more realistic, but it's definitely still fun to fly.
  3. Yes, you definitely still need to trim when using a clutched springless cyclic. If you turn on the control indicator window, on the cyclic axes you'll see a red X (trim position), white diamond (physical stick position), and a green cross (SCAS system output). The SCAS system takes the positions of the red X and white diamond, does some math, and outputs the green cross. The closer together the red X and the white diamond are, the better the system works. I find it works best if you hold the trim release up when doing large maneuvers. This locks the red X to the white diamond, guaranteeing full SCAS authority. Once you're settled in cruise or hover, periodically tap the trim release up as you are making small attitude corrections to keep that offset minimized.
  4. Did you maybe have the IHADSS to display on both eyes before but now it's only showing on one? I find it much easier to read with both eyes, but much harder to boresight so I'm torn about which to use.
  5. Looks absurd! Sorry I missed it!
  6. Awesome, can't wait to see what you come up with next! I can't get the base ground crew to respond to my refuel request. Do I need to tune my radio to a specific frequency? The airport ground crew responds even if I have all my radios turned off. The pursuit mission definitely rules. More open terrain might make it easier but it is also fun to dodge light poles and trees while the deputy tries to aim her pistol! One more weird thing I noticed... Doesn't affect anything, but I think around the time of the most recent DCS OB update there are now a bunch of cars parked on the terrorist ship. It also sinks to the bottom now instead of sitting there on fire. So much for the tripulation, serves them right for letting terrorists drive hatchbacks onto their shp.
  7. I've been having a blast with this mission, thanks for making it! This has taken me from barely able to fly the Huey to flying like a champion and landing on a dime. The only Issue I have seen is on the task where you shoot out the jeep's tires. After the jeep blows up, I land nearby but the mission never advances. Easy enough to abort mission and move on to the next one. Also, the new flight model makes refueling at some point mandatory. Is there a way to refuel at the helicopter base or do I have to keep going to the airport? I got to do my first actual emergency autorotation when I ran out of gas right over the airport yesterday! I'd love an update with more content (maybe a plane crash rescue mission or some random air traffic to avoid) or another map and I'd pay good money for it!
  8. About 6 months ago I built my first gaming PC in 20 years. I was aiming for a general gaming rig, but I got into DCS and now I have an absurd (to me) setup and I'm already thinking about upgrades. I play 100% VR and have no interest in playing on a flat screen. My main modules are the Huey, Apache, A-10, F-5, and F-18. I do a little IL-2 Flying Circus, but that already works pretty smooth. On DCS I get a steady 45 FPS with decent visuals. I'm most interested in a crisper view of the cockpit. Based on my current system, what is my best upgrade path? Quest 2 with prescription inserts RX 6800 CORE i5-12400F 4.4 GHz 32 GB RAM DDR4 3200 MHz (2 open slots) Virpil collective Warthog stick/throttle MFG Crosswind V3 pedals Virpil CM3 base/extension/Alpha grip "order processing" for 5 weeks
  9. @Lord Vader That fixed it for me. Thank you!!
  10. Same exact problem here. I'm going to try reinstalling the Apache module...if I can figure out how.
