  1. I'm interested to find out for sure, but I think the hardest part about phantom mastery is going to be aviating and navigating . The systems will be significantly less complex than the mudhen's. However, that presents its own challenge around getting the most out of those systems used to get you to the right piece of sky with respect to the target. Getting weapons off the jet the way that you want should not be your greatest challenge. That's all done with manual switches that you can visually check the status of without going into a menu. I think being in the right place, at the right speed, and the right attitude (Jester allowing ;)) will be the hard part. The phantom also has more aerodynamic quirks than the mudhen. Getting it off and back on the ground will certainly be more challenging than in the mudhen (AAR too). Also interested to hear other's thoughts.
  2. Collapsed gear on a carrier is better than collapsed gear in the ocean!
  3. That would make more sense.
  4. I was curious about within DCS. That might be useful debug information for ED.
  5. You had a shrike track on a Vulcan bomber?
  6. I tried 6 or 7 times last night. All within 9nm( down to almost 2 nm) with the AGM-45B and AGM-45A. All 4 of 4 shrikes failed to track. Note, I want to be clear that they failed to TRACK at all. If you want, go to the DCS bug reports, I’ve posted some track files there under the bug report that was started by @Moosemermaid . Also, if you check out the A-4 discord, there’s been significant discussion going on about this issue there as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm seeing this same issue. Here are two track files. One with the AGM-45A and one with the AGM-45B. Flew the A-4E against an SA-2 site with no launcher. Did an earlier check and presence of the launcher did not seem to matter. Hope this helps! The track file shows a series of launches within 9nm, down to almost 2nm. 8. Seems to be a pretty common issue on the A-4E-C discord. Only problem is, there's nothing the A-4 team can do. Missile is ED's once it leaves the rail. If I get time I'll go post a bug report somewhere appropriate on the forums here.
  9. I'll check tonight and see if i have any issues (I have a SEAD practice mission with the A-4 ready to go). Any chance you could share a track file? I can replay it and see if there is a difference in how they track on my install. I also have the F-4 mod but haven't had issue yet.
  10. First dumb question; Is the radar radiating in your direction when you fire it(Ignoring the AI F-4 for a minute)? Second dumb question; What range are you firing the shrike at?
  11. Been itching for a navy fighter from this era!
  12. Great to hear! Thanks! My squadron will be excited.
  13. We really need that whiteboard from Cabin In The Woods to capture everyone's guesses. The community is all over the place.
  14. Hi All, I'm seeing an issue with the Belouga's dropping long. I've attached four track files to provide examples of what I have tried. However, let me provide more detail. The issue seems to be that when flying the HUD symbology, the BLG-66 will drop with the first bomb impacting after the indicated impact point. The distance varies with speed(I've tried at speeds between .75 and .95 mach), though not noticeably with higher altitude. This issue does not seem to exist for the Mk82 Snake Eyes or Mk82 Air. I've attempted the drop according to HUD symbology and down to 200ft which worked but significantly deviated from what was presented by the HUD symbology. The issue persists with and without mods installed. I've tested with two versions of OB, both the current version and two patches earlier. I hope I have provided sufficient detail. If this is not a bug, I apologize. Let me know if you need any additional or clarifying information. 15. Most aircraft without Fly-by-wire will do this when you add an extreme pitch or yaw input. Can you elaborate on if this occurs in two axes or all three? Can you also describe how quickly you are moving the stick when this happens? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Read the book "From F-4 Phantom to A-10 Warthog" by Steve Ladd and you will get a phenomenal encyclopedia of fighter pilot humor. After which it should be obvious that jester's humor is extremely immature, just like that of the pilots of the time.
  17. DCS Sport on youtube has a good video talking about the nav computer.
  18. Very exciting!
  19. I love that museum! I need to get back there some time! Once HB's F-4E comes out I'm going to need a plane to do some rivet counting on
  20. I think that’s called sarcasm…
