  1. Still happens to me all these years later. I've just been ignoring it for the last 2 years I've been playing but I'm at the point now I play a lot more F/A-18 and it's getting obnoxious. Happens no matter what whenever I advance the throttles past halfway, unless the MC is already lit from a previous throttle advance. Happens from cold start, hot start on the cat/runway, or already in the air. Tried the usual Google search but it looks like no one has an answer and all the threads on DCS/Reddit are old and dead.
  2. Bro... What do you do on MP Servers that simulate Vietnam/Korea? What do you do on MP Servers that don't have AWACS? Have you literally only ever played the F/A-18 with datalink? What do you think everyone else not flying the Hornet does in those situations? Gosh forbid you play a WWII Server with no radar or rwr and no awacs. Just Mk1 Eyeballs.
  3. Who cares? The F-14 having AMRAAMS has literally no effect on you or your life. So why argue with someone against having something they want in a game that they paid for the aircraft in? Honestly how does an aircraft in the game having the option to use a weapon negatively impact you? Are you going to lose sleep because it exists? We all know what the real answer is. You just want to look smart and put other people down for no reason by spouting off illegitimate reasons against the Tomcat getting a new weapon system. Doesn't matter at all if it never reached the point that Tomcats were all carrying AMRAAM instead of Phoenix. Doesn't matter if it was only done in testing. It means that it was possible and was done, and so can be done in the game. If you don't like it then guess what? Don't use it. It really is that simple. God forbid you find out there is already a Mod that exists that gives the Tomcat Aim-9X and Aim-120C-5 as well as JDAMS, Laser Mavs, and HARMs....
  4. "I want this but don't know how to do it and can't be bothered to learn how. You do it for me and do it for free because I'm definitely not paying anyone for their time and effort" That's how I see posts like this. Stop being lazy freeloaders and learn how to do what you want. You'll be a lot better off and have a new skill.
  5. After talking crap about it. Now you want praise for using it... What happened to complaining about no manuals and the flight model being a mess? I'm guessing it turns out that you just sucked at it because everyone has trouble when starting off in a new aircraft.
  6. What makes the mod different from the regular 25T? Other than nuclear weapons.
  7. Kinda wish it was the F9F-8 but I'll take whatever I can get. Love Grumman aircraft!
  8. Any update on this? It's been about 5 years now. This is such an amazing thing and I'd really love to have/use it. Not literally have it like own it, I just want it on my PC or on the internet to use it.
  9. Like people have mentioned, IRL it records some data to be viewed later. It is mostly used for BFM and can roughly figure out if your gun rounds would have hit the target(although HUD recordings could also do the same), and along with captive sidewinders(Aim-9 that cannot be fired and have no explosives or fuel) can be used to see if you had a legitimate Fox-2 shot. Now while all of this could be gathered from the flight data and video being recorded by the Aircraft itself, The TCTS pod offers a simpler and more straight forward way to get the same results. Rather than having to wait until you're on the ground and someone having to go through a mountain of data and recordings to figure it all out. It's basically a pod that allows you to engage in combat without actually engaging in combat, so no-one gets hurt. In DCS however it is not functional at all and just serves decorative purpose. I'm sure they planned on or at least 'hoped' that at one point they could make it functional, but this is ED we're talking about... Oh yeah, it also isn't limited to BFM engagements. It can be used for Air/Air and for Air/Ground and Ground/Air. Here is a little excerpt on what it does "Real-time weapons simulations and live monitoring functions for air-to-air, air-to-ground and surface-to-air missions, with Real-Time Kill Notification (RTKN), No Drop Weapons Scoring (NDWS) and Electronic Warfare simulation capabilities." RTKN means you are immediately notified if you got a hit or not, and NDWS means you will know if your bomb drop was accurate or not without having to drop even a training bomb(just a hunk of metal no explosive) Edit: I have a feeling that Razbam plan on making it functional at some point, not anytime soon, but some point. Due to the fact that they've included A/A and A/G Training functions in the F-15E already. Although they do not function yet.
  10. I can’t say it’s been a problem for me. Since I use a fairly big TV for a monitor and it won’t go above 1920-1080. So I’m able to see dots pretty far. But this does help even more
  11. This is literally still a problem in 2023 WTF. It's so damn frustrating. My mavericks refuse to lock ANY target and just jump to random places elsewhere. How have they not fixed this in almost 10 years? Edit: it's also not the version of Maverick. D H and K all do the same thing. D's are also useless in the daytime as the picture is covered by a black "haze" until you are within 5 miles of your target area.
