  1. :] For best results put the reflectors on your hat.
  2. Razor sharp enough? http://img41.exs.cx/img41/5104/mig84ok.jpg Ill redo the canopy/cockpit later on. EDIT Some changes made to front cockpit: http://i135.exs.cx/img135/9483/mig103ug.jpg http://i135.exs.cx/img135/8891/mig117xu.jpg http://img83.exs.cx/img83/4171/mig120qu.jpg
  3. Did some work on the engine inner parts (old version). http://img204.exs.cx/img204/108/mig70bh.jpg Thanks peter for the link :] Dont worry about the materials used, i am concentrating on the modeling now, materials and textures will have final priority. Same goes for the way the picture is rendered, i could use Brazil to make the image look more lifelike, but that is useless for a game model WIP screen.
  4. Very nicely done :]
  5. Hi, and welcome to the MiG-21bis WIP (work in progress) thread. Some time ago i wanted to model the mig-21 for LOMAC, after some hours spent on modeling i needed more detailed pictures for further progress. Then i stumbled upon this site: http://home.planet.nl/%7Efran2233/ . I figured why reinvent the wheel, when i could use his model for integration in LOMAC. So i emailed the author (Johan Franken) and here we are. I must say the model already looked gorgeous when i received it, but i plan to (and am in the process of) redoing/editing/fiddling the model to make it look even more splendid. -TODO *model interior engine *redo cockpit *redo pilot *cleanup canopy /editing *stuff i forgot *texturing modified parts *animating parts (has to be done after the model is 'done') -Questions / Suggestions to everyone / person(s) adressed *Be critic if the model / other stuff isnt accurate. *The way the materials/textures are used isn't that important at this point My thanks go out to Johan Franken who offered his great model for (hopefully) an inclusion in future addons for LOMAC, and FLANKER for his great mig pictures. Ofcourse also to ED and Chizh for this new subforum. Some crappy renders: http://img120.exs.cx/img120/633/mig12zk.jpg http://img120.exs.cx/img120/1314/mig26bl.jpg http://img120.exs.cx/img120/9319/mig31al.jpg http://img120.exs.cx/img120/7303/mig48rf.jpg http://img120.exs.cx/img120/9128/mig55tg.jpg http://img120.exs.cx/img120/2616/mig66en.jpg S!
  6. Hey, criticism is what im here for, i just sent you my email address. http://img100.exs.cx/img100/4493/fixedcanopy2ia.jpg Could you please point out where it should be less reclined? Thanks for the feedback,
  7. Thanks for the link flanker, thats exactly the good site i lost the link of. BTW, i read the mig21 stock version uses its main wheels to turn on the runway, is this the same as in the bis? http://img173.exs.cx/img173/3540/brakechuteexample6zc.jpg See image above, is this the correct relative size of the brake chute, and or ropes?
  8. Hi guys, i cut the poly limit to 45.000 now, so i started redoing/adding some parts now. Does anyone have a good picture and or technical drawing of the engine (viewed from behind)? Also, does anyone have a good picture of the PT-21UK dragchute being used by the plane? take care,
  9. Didnt know this method was also possible, i got the same results (i presume) by just using saiteks software to create a lights on, lights off macro.
  10. Hi guys, Strikemax, i must say you are doing an excellent job in modeling that bird, you never told me you had any experience with 3dsmax during the time i used to fly with you. For the mig21 lovers, i am still in the process of trimming the polies of the bird down a bit, while keeping the quality modeling of Johan. By the way, are there any special moving parts of the mig21 i should know about? I hope i can post some pics, take care,
  11. I just received the model and mappings from Johan, i hope i can finish it up soon.
  12. It adds something to the atmosphere of the game, and it certainly isnt hard to code.
  13. The creator of this model (entirely textured and modeled by Johan - not me- http://home.planet.nl/%7Efran2233/ will offer it to me to adjust it to the wishes of the dev's. I want to thank Johan for offering his great work of art to the Lomac community. 8) I am talking about the mig21-bis. I hope to have it ready in a short time.
