Thanks for the site Third :) I got a ton of mig pics, i could fill a whole room with it. Sky Eagle, unfortunately, the file you gmailed me is corrupt, could you send it again please :) ? Thanks :) you should not forget Johan's work though, he did most work, im just refining / redoing the mesh to be possibly used in lomac. When im done i will most certainly contact one of them, if they want :) By cockpit i meant the canopy, it needs still quite some work :) im not going to model the entire cockpit exactly from the inside, just try to view the cockpit of any of the models in lomac from an external view :) Ill post more updates soon, currently im trying to animate the rear landing gear properly. Depends, if the devs want it in. Maybe not, because it doesn't fit in the timeframe according to some. My opinion; this game is situated in the 80'(?), mig21-bis's were flown then by several airforces active in the region, so imho it fits in the current game. But, future addon's seem to focus on an later era, so who knows, in that case ill problaby donate the plane to another (maybe opensource) sim.

To corner the problem. But hey, if you dont want to and just try and "reinstall windows" which doesn't always seem to work for the average Joe User, go ahead.

In any case, it's bad PR for ED and you dont want that. -
Like i said, pull out everything you dont need for the game to load up --> unpower your dvddrive.

dualboot windows? -
No not the pics, the mesh itself. Give me a screenshot so i can see how those lines came up. And pick up a book of 3dsmax at your local library.
-
Alright, first, resize everything 10 times smaller so the grid becomes useful, second, what are those "loose lines" can u give me a screenshot in edit mesh mode?
-
What mobo you got? Also, plug out everything you don't need (only keyboard and mouse) and try again. Same for running processes in the background.
-
You need a plugin for that, easiest way is to use printscreen.

Hi, not a bad start :) Can you give me a 3d wireframe of the nose? What works for me is first build the rough shape, with not that many "height" parts of the cilinder. Selecting a bunch of vertices and scaling them doesn't wreck your mesh. After im satisfied with the basic shape, i start slicing some pieces (under edit mesh) and refining it. Just like sculpting. If you have too much vertices, you can *weld" them together, see an online tutorial for more on welding, its quite useful. Everyone creates ugly things in the beginning, you dont want to see my first creations :P. Good luck!

Cosmetic changes you'd like to see?

Please, dont compare 2 completely different game's and their engine capabilities :). I would like to see some 'acceleration effect' when being pressed in your seat (moving the camera a bit backwards). -
Thanks :) Practice makes perfect. Pick a plane to model (i saw that civilian planes could be useful) start modeling it, and create a thread for it, and i will give tips and pointers. Smoothness is acquired by putting the vertices at the right spot. But the basic shape of any plane is an cilinder, for the wings it could be boxes. Just start modeling :)

Thanks :) , im having a hard time animating the rear wheels properly :( 50.800 polys, but i can cut alot away still, but i have to add a new pilot object, and i can move the detail level a bit at some places. I mostly use cilinders, cones, and an occasional box. Good luck with modeling! Everything is animated properly, except the rear wheels. I only hope someone can show me how the rear wheels retract. I want to do it realistically.

Comeone people. Can anyone give me one good reason why when Longhorn comes out everyone has to run it? Let alone play a game on it which was not programmed for it, although MS states it can even run DOS programs, i highly doubt the backwards compatibility of the OS. All that hassle for a new skin, a "new" filesystem, and a 3d workspace. And it even makes your games run slower because all the crap it loads up, not to mention cpu cycles. Still im quite impressed with the propaganda machine which still seems to work well. Amen to that. -
For tanks use boxs and cilinders. Just try and find out.

Well, 1.1 is out, post what you think...

Hey :) , yeah hope to see you soon on HL. I tried nurbs years ago, but i didn't like it at all :) i prefer lowpoly boxmodeling --> meshsmooth. Spline modeling i do like :) -

The first stable 64bit windows os won't be out soon, so that 'lack' of development doesn't suprise me. -
