Yes. You need double throw switches for any switch that has 3 states (On, Safe, Train) and a single throw for anything with 2 states. Your top switches look like double throw, the middle like singles and the bottom like double throws again. I think the laser is a tri state switch now? May need a double throw switch for that. -

Yes...the least known fact about Switzerland. For all you non European types (and even some of you Euros) the official name of Switzerland is the Confederate of Helvetica. This is why domain names are .ch and the currency is CHF ;:smartass:

Hog/pitbldr...I'm in CH. I would be interested in the Electical Power panel.

How To: Build a A-10 flight panel controller

1. I am positive almost any toggle switch will work for. With voltages and amps we are using from an interface card, your toggle switch will be rated for much larger than we are dealing with. Don't pay too much attention to that. 2. Making these cards is not trivial. The electonics is simple enough but also need to program the chip which performs the USB interface. The amount of time and effort put in would far out weigh the cheap price of 39 USD for something like the GroovyGameGear board. Only a real hobbyist would see the fun in making a board from scratch. A woking knowledge of programming chips would be required as well. GroovyGameGear ships to a lot of places. You sure you can't get one from them? -
Here are the beginnings. Warthog cartoon decal painstakingly recreated using Illustrator.

Yo Greg, That is awesoe...just awesome. So glad to see people taking my vids, turning into their own project and posting them in this thread. Glad you enjoyed the videos and thanks for sharing your project. Happy everything worked out well. I wish I could give more advice other than paper to make the panel writing......maybe for a future video. Thanks for sharing greg. -

How To: Build a A-10 flight panel controller
TigersharkBAS replied to TigersharkBAS's topic in Home Cockpits
Hey there. Thanks for appreciating it! ;-) Yeah, for the moment I either run through the shutdown procedure after landing or do it before I unpause a mission. I was hoping at one point that the "set switches to controller" option in the Options screen would have done this automagically but it appears it doesn't. This is a problem with the Warthog controller and home built panels. -
Second that. I even began making a mission like this for the clan.

Dear Moderator, Can we make this post a sticky as requested before? -
Hi ED, Just want to urge you once again to consider releasing the A-10 skin PSDs just like you did for Blackshark. Many of us are keen to get started on making new skins (both fictional and real) and short of making our own PSDs (which is possible but incredibly time consuming) we could use your help. I know you have priorities and this is a relatively minor task on what would be a long list, but I'm not sure what the hold up is. Do the files need to be "cleaned up" before release? Or is it for commercial reasons that you want to delay the release? It's fine if it is...would just appreciate it if you were up front with us and perhaps offer an explanation as to why. I know of course that you have no obligation to have to release these but as most game makers know, the modding community can help breathe extra life into a game and extend its lifespan (and potentially sales). Can anyone from ED comment on this? I totally understand if it commercial reasons. A short explanation would be nice. Thank you kindly, Tigershark (budding modder) PS. If you are answering this :-) Any chance that the ability to add the whole Bort# in the editor and appear on the plane has been added to the patch list of features? At the moment you can only add 2 digits.

Glad I could be of help MadDoc :-) -
It's only 2....the first one is baked onto the texture for the aircraft. I don't why they didn't allow for the whole 3 or even whole 5 number. Perhaps in a future patch.

Oh wait...I think I got it...they are USB monitors. They work perfectly? No problems?
-
Hi again, Thanks for the details but I am a little confused. I understand how you are using your Nvidia to drive 3 screens (I think you can see the three screens in the background) but how exactly are you driving the 2 screens for the MFD. They plugged into another GFX card?
-
Would be nice if you could give a little more info Jelal. Are you using small monitors under the cougar MFD? Which models did you get. How did you set them up? Would love to get more insight on this.

Hi all. Added a new video to my first post to show how to wire up a switch with an inbuilt LED. -
Pikas....you can use the 5v connection from the GPWiz40. However, you will need to put a resistor between your 5V and the pole for the switch. 47 ohm resistor will do the trick. You will need to run a ground wire from the GPWiz to the "-" pole, then a wire from 5V to the "+" pole with resistor on it, then you will need a ground wire to one of the other poles and wire from the 4th pole to the GPWiz button connection.
