  1. Ok, looks like a vr problem, Meta has also dropped an update, I'll work back and try to find the problem. Interestingly memory usage jumps to 96% when I switch to these aircraft....64gb system
  2. Settings are not too ambitious......I've had this setup for over a year, runs very well high end pc FPS dropped from a very smooth 60 odd in vr, to a complete mess overnight.... I'll try the shaders though, thanks
  3. Hi all, There are a couple of posts on this but so far I have found that the frame rate drops to around 2 FPS on both these aircraft as soon as the game is un-paused. All maps are affected, even a blanc map so not related to unit density. Interestingly these are my only two aircraft that have radar, so don't know if that's the issue? Other complex models such as the av8b, are fine..... Audio has gone funny too! Les
  4. I've got the same, the mirage F1 is even worse
  5. The normal fault is that you click on launch and the screen briefly goes black with the three dots before returning to the headset screen. Or it will get stuck on the three dots and never get to the link environment - the grey grid....
  6. Mega, Thanks for the info, fantastic. We are hoping for another invite for RIAT 25 , I'll keep you posted!
  7. Hi, Generally speaking the 4 stations we have work, but we have found the oculus wired connection to be very unreliable- you can update everything, check everything and it all works- the next day one of them just won't link up.... As I say my own quest 2 is great over a dedicated 5g router with virtual desktop but hasn't worked over a cable for more than a year..,. Three different cables tried, updates, reset the headset....nothing works.. Should have said, its a cadet base where I volunteer thats doing the upgrade, we have 4 laptops with q2 headsets and warthog controls running dcs..,I know everything is going wireless, I guess we would need a dedicated router for each station? To avoid problems..... Hadnt considered psvr, that could be interesting if the adapter works well?
  8. Thanks for the reply, I think we are all good on the legal side- we don't charge any money as we are essentially a youth organisation, linked to the RAF. I contacted ed when we first started using dcs and they threw us a few free modules to get going, which was really good of them. We have had a stand at RIAT the last two years, in the tech zone, but of course with the 4 setups running offline as stand alone. Ok cool, so looks like its feasible, I can link them up via switch then let them all authenticate over a phone hotspot, then using local IP...I'll give it a go! I'm sure I'll hit problems getting them to recognise the server etc but I'm sure I can sort it Many thanks Les
  9. Hi all, Can't quite find a solution to this one, I know it's been discussed before, but wondered if anyone has got it working... Trying to link 4 pcs to fly multiplayer but we can't always have an internet connection as we take the setup to airshows and schools.....I can setup a good WiFi router so they can have a really good connection to that , but no internet. Is there anyway to make this work? I can use a phone hotspot for authorisation..... Thanks
  10. Hi all, We are looking to upgrade our quest 2 vr headsets at our air cadet unit, We generally don't have a good WiFi signal or internet and at some places like airshows we have no internet at all which causes us some issues! For that reason I was steering away from the quest 3 as we have a fair amount of problems with the pc link by cable.... My own quest 2 won't link up by cable at all any more! Any advice on headsets that are fairly trouble free when connected by cable? Ideally better than the quest 2, but equally we don't have the funds for pimax!! Any help appreciated as always
  11. Mmm, I'm not sure- the speed the stick moves looks like that in flight or on the ground, I did a rough timings, actually i think it's close to your timings, i make it about a second to centre to full right or left. I'm using a modified Microsoft ffb stick...
  12. Hi, Did this one make any further progress? Far too much brilliant work done to give up....
  13. Hi I found this thread by searching for slow stick movement in the F1, I love that you have done such extensive testing o reproduce the real aircraft, but my stick movement is also significantly more that 1 second left to right. Attached video- if it looks right to you then Ill go with it!! mirage f1 stick.mp4
  14. Sir,

Read a few of your posts and comments....awesome to have a real F1 pilot flying dcs....may I ask where you flew and any details you are able to give? I was a cop not a pilot and now like be dcs In my retirement!  Ma y thanks for your service and contribution

  15. Thanks pal! That worked- it had been working fine before so I guess windows was being "helpful" and changed some of the usb port settings and caused an interference Many thanks.....one problem solved,
  16. I may very sadly be done with dcs.i live it but over the last couple of weeks I have spent around 30 hrs fixing problems and no hours flying, I'm a flightsim fan not a fixing problems fan, it's just too unreliable..... Fixed the vr problem with VD, now I have another new issue of controls locking /freezing while the game continues to run..... sometimes for a few seconds sometimes longer , unplayable again
  17. I should add that the game continues running fine, no loss of frame rate just the control inputs which are locked / frozen
  18. Sorry to revive this one- I have the same issue back again, Controls locking / freezing, not only related to using trim but randomly.. Mb339 and F1 modules are affected, strangely the harrier is fine which is weird. During a freeze, no Input works, even pressing esc to bring up the menu doesn't work. Aircraft are fine on the ground and taxiing- as soon as the speed rises on the takeoff roll, the problem starts... Starting in the air, produces the problem immediately. Tried wiping all control assignments and remapping, updating everyone, nothing works! Any ideas? Radeon anti lag is still off so I don't think that was the problem originally Regards Les
  19. On my own setup, I'm actually really enjoying the virtual desktop, it works really well, better than oculus- the problem I have our air cadet Sims is that we don't have good enough WiFi and some places we take the Sims on outreach, have nothing we had a stand at RIAT last year, attached picture of a red arrow pilot flying out SIM in DCS. So we need a cable link or we can't run
  20. I'll try that thanks, my dcs is beta not steam, don't think I can use steam ve to run it? Both oculus processes set to manual in service manager.....still won't start
  21. For me and out air cadets Sims, this is just getting worse .. I can't now update dcs even if there is an update fix, oculus is not running, headset not plugged in, I have stopped all the oculus processes I can see In taskmanager and dcs still won't start.....it also won't update as the last time it was used was in offline mode, so I'm really stuck....any ideas on getting dcs to run in basic desktop mode?
  22. More problems!! So vdxr works good for me ( WiFi permitting) but I now can't run DCS unless I'm using the vr headset! I do like to run it on the monitor for mission editing etc .. I have the same issue of not loading!! I have uninstalled oculus, any ideas? Thanks again... Les
  23. Many thanks, That could save us ..
  24. The vdxr route seems really good so far, the only thing being that it's a wireless link and needs a wired internet connection. My main problem will be at the air cadets unit I volunteer at: we have 4 laptops with quest 2 headsets and full seats, hotas and pedals- but we don't have a good WiFi or internet connection so use a wire from the headset to laptop. and often take them to events where there is no internet- we use dcs, ED have been great- they gave us some free modules to get the cadets going, but we may be sunk , it was a big investment for a small sqn ( charity and volunteer staff) I have kept them all off while this has been going on
  25. So......I downloaded vd and ran it yesterday evening, works ok- much more clunky than oculus and lots of strange blurring and stuttering during the various loading segments but once in the game engine it seems quite good, it looks like it will mean changing a load of settings as I have old issues of disappearing aircraft at some distances and the sea going in the wrong direction with the ships at some aspects. As discussed I did have to plug an ethernet cable into the router, and there is a lot running in the background, steam ve, vd itself.....I have 64gb ram and seems ok. A similar interface that can use the wired connection would be preferable.... Les
