  1. In the true spirit of St Loius then ! :) instrument flight rules is something I have not done yet as still having trim issues! I guess your flight model is 100%
  2. Its all I do basically...create my own custom missions. Depending on how much time I have I'll make a short or long mission. The quickest way to make your own custom mission is to adapt an existing one. i.e change a basic ramp start game by adding a few insurgent tanks 80 cliks or so away...a column of say 4 tanks at 35kmh going along a road then take off - search em out and destroy with your custom payload..MAVs are great for tank killing - then return to base. Another mission I do a lot is to set up opposing forces closing in on my airbase. say 3 tanks 4 Kamas, 3 AAA on open Ural, 4 jeeps and the odd fuel truck maybe a captured civ bus or artic on a ten minute to base deadline...so I have to start up the A-10c or KA50 depending on game as fast as possible, ( scramble) take off, do the business then land back. Its great fun and puts all your skills to the test in a relatively short space of time.
  3. I would say YES there will be a pilot, DCS decided to have a "pilot" sitting at the controls in KA-50 for external view snap-shots / close ups of the pit in flight. The option to have the pilot will remain as a toggle, as in KA-50.
  4. I might give that a go, but also a bit confusded at what altitude is best to deploy ordnance onto tanks with AAA support...specially MANPADS or whatever they called, that I like to let the insurgents have on my custom missions for more realism. I made my last attack like a Stuka dive bomber and got 80% more accuracy but this way seamed ridiculous to me. My custom mission consists of a total of 20 different types of enemy vehicles, tanks, trucks, tripple A etc that have taken over an airport and I go to clear em out. 4 x GBU10 and 2xMAV
  5. With GBU-10 and GBU-12 I find that the CCRP is accurate only if those two target lines are nearly touching ! If they are a bit off then the bomb misses like 800 yards or more? I think that its way too sensitive, also trying to get auto-pilot on when the plane is veering left right left right and autopilot keeps coming off is annoying me now. I deploy ornance at about 10,000 ft to have more chance against AAA, but find the plane is realy a real bitch trying to line up those target lines EXACTLY to get a hit. Are these laser guided bombs like that in real life ? If the lines are a centimeter apart or even by half as much=miss !! Can the cone of bomb flight be made larger and more accurate in beta 4?
  6. Thanks for making the video. Great to see folks taking time out for this stuff  I speed my slew up by going Stats-next-throttle -enter 1 on the panel then click slew to make it 1.0. 1.0 is the fastest 8.0 is the slowest slew mode. I find faster slewing is better.
  7. So far I have got the air medal, bronze star, purple heart and the Order of the Empire and a promotion will soon beckon. I think theres about 15 or so medals to "collect" Take off, blow shit up, land..theres usualy a medal or promo waiting for you.
  8. With ref to KA-50, it doesnt bother me, static trains, running trains, trains with freight, trains with tanks on flatbeds, if I see em...rockets go swish trains always go boom! :captain:
  9. Yes I know...they actually built the A10 around the gun !
  10. I have had this old image for ages and thought I might post it up to to show those who not to sure how big the gatling gun really is, thats in our beloved A10-C The image is not a photoshopped joke, but the real deal. :shocking: enjoy ! Its an old pic thats been around for ages. to see a full screen picture click here.... warthog.com
  11. I had to google E-3 sentry, as soon as I saw the photo I exclaimed..!aah AWACS ! Airborne Warning and Control Systems. You obviously know your beans fellah ! :smartass: Simfreak, your anonymity is fine by me. :smoke: Thanks for your help on here guys !
  12. I take it HeminhgwayFe and Simfreak your are an actual pilots who has done this kind of stuff for real yes. Was this in military aircraft of civilian? if it makes any difference. Me...well this sim is the closest I have ever got to even being in a plane, never been in one at all, so count yourselves lucky to have experienced the real thing and thanks for all the tips and real accounts interesting stuff. Still no sure what the air bleed thing is in the A10, should I put it on during flight check or what, and what does it do?
  13. Along with that, these forums themselves are full of help and advice. Without the forums and without the modders etc then a hi-tech flight sim like A10-C would take longer to learn, and although interesting not as interesting.
  14. I'm going to have to be a numb-nuts now... ...so let me get this straight, Hypoxia is a lack of oxygen in the brain and not lack of blood going to the brain? or is it ?? Is this because the air is so thin or becuase of some pressurization thing that means the body is like going through the benz like deep sea divers get at too deep? For twenty odd years I have been playing tank games, infantry games, uboat games....its only the past 18 months or so I have gotten into flight sims, with Rise Of Flight, KA-50 and this one, hence its all a new playground for me...its a great playground though ! Rise of Flight WWI flight Sim and KA-50 never a problem because you never go quite high enough! And by the way if someone could tell me what is all the correct air-oxygen settings that I should have in flight of my A10 :helpsmilie:
  15. DSC made a pilot for the superb KA50- Blackshark Heli Sim by pressing Rshft P so I should imagine they will do the same for the A10. Soon after modders came out with different camo garb for the Pilot too. Lots yet to look forward to.
  16. Hi Rud, the devs have done a great job with all these finer functions. Use of 100% oxygen though uses it up quicker....less fly time
  17. Great work, very informative and I love the presentation of it. It has already cleared up a few things for me.
  18. Hey thanks for the information there guys. So I went Hypoxic....scarey ! and very dangerous, flying a powerful jet with exceedingly limited training. Thankfully this is as close as I will ever get to flying a real plane, specialy the awesome Hog. Yes indeed I would not have thought "..hmm I'm passing out here.." I would have just gone Guzunkko!...as my brain functions started to cease....very true GGTharos...and everyone else For the Sims sake however, I did it again to check if my air was on etc...all ok..so I deliberatley turned off the "mask" air supply at 27,500 ft....I went hypoxic in about 20 seconds...turned it back on again and recovered in about 1 to 2 minutes...great that the devs allowed the workings of these little instruments to add that megga realism.
  19. ...well virtualy feinted that is... ...after sorting out my aileron prob (with help from this community) I took the WARhog out for a flight. If you go above around 26,000 ft the Devs had rendered the best feinting/passing-out effect ever. Verrry verrry slowly the guages started to go grey...I didn't notice at first... then the sky started to go grey the sounds also got weaker. The greyness got darker, slowly darker the edges of the screen went black...I thought S%$@ I'm passing out here... ...disorientated...yes I realy was !...the effect is that good! ...I dropped down to 15,000 feet...back to normal senses and vision. At 15,000 feet I set the oxygen to "mask" I then went up to 32,000 ft and stayed there for 30 mins or more ! Super modelling and a thumbs up to the Development team for the intricate details in this fabulous Sim that make it so real. Good luck with the finished product. PS. In the manual P154 it says... "3. Emergency Lever. This red-colored lever has positions for normal operation, mask test, and emergency. Given the nature of this simulation, only normal mode is modeled." ...in that case how do you explain the above....as when "mask" air was employed I went up to 32,000 feet ! where-as I couldn't before !
  20. So at least its not a bug in the sim then as no-one else having this glitch ! I'll check out your replies, Superb Sim by the way even if it is a Beta...at the moment. ------------------------------------------------------------- Well I could not access the axis tune in settings, it was just greyed out ! I believe that the Lctrl-T helped a lot, thanks for that. Also the RCtrl-Enter proved my joystick was ok as it exactly linedup on the red line azimuths. Also playing the Sim in sim mode not game mode seamed to offer better handling all-round.
  21. My ailerons are way way out of alignment...I can fly the superb DCS KA50 Sim easy, so I know my Logitech Extreme 3D-Pro joystick is calibrated correctly.:joystick: but as said above...I cannot fly the Warthog properly though, as the Ailerons are offset on the plane, the starboard side is stuck about 40 degrees up and the starboard side is stuck about 10 degrees down...they do move in flight, but they always go back to this. I can fly the plane but I am holding the joystick at an acute angle to fly straight and taking off and landing....well..I did do it but never again ! Is there something that I have missed in setting it up? Trim or something? any help appreciated.:helpsmilie:
  22. Looks fantastic cant wait for this mod, best looking pit ever ! 10/10 how long before release Ricaro? any idea?
  23. Well I bought it ! and rerunning the training mission to get her off the ground. Fantastic instrumentation, the best I haver ever seen for the cutting edge quality of this sim. Well done devs.
  24. Great details mentioned in this post...a credit again to the developers. I am very tempted to buy the pre release beta 2 now..more than ever !
  25. Apache Attack AH64-D Longbow..please please please !
