"Why can't you be like a normal man and go to bars, get drunk and cheat on me"!!!!! The girls are never happy, they love the drama and they hate video games (unless its the Sims because "that game makes sense") Lovin the sim ED.... really fun digging in the mud and evaporating enemy units with the avenger.

Great guys thanks. Ill do that. I took your mission and added MP to it already. Gotta tweak it some more because the 2 flights i made have no weps when they start. sure is hard to find them suckers when they're hiding in the dark.
-
hey thanks Geskes... gave it a try and its pretty tough. Are there any radio freqs for this mission? thanks Jeff
-
How do you save the missions from the auto generator? thats a great idea... some of the best missions I have tried have been from that. I would like to see if they can be reworked for MP use too. Thanks Jeff

well we played the mission for a good 4 hours last night and it is definitely tough. We finally cleared the Sams and then were able to bomb the rest. I would have to conclude that the A10 is no match for SA-15s. They are just to fast and climb too high for the hawg to effectively evade. They can be evaded but the parameters have to be right and you really need to see where they are coming from. being at 24,000MSL helps too. Im glad you put SA-9s in the revision cougar. another very fun mission... Should call it Bagdad 2.0....keep 'em coming buddy. -

Well we found several of them and they are all around the outer perimeter of the base as well as in the surrounding countryside.. REEEAAALLLY hard to find. We gave up on the night IFR mission for now... just playing daytime VFR. We got one of them by me acting as a wild weasel... flying around 19,000, when the SA-15 shows in the HUD, quickly turn 90 degrees (beaming the target) and wait for a launch. Try to see where the launches come from. Next we found the launcher and shared the SPI. Once my wingie had lock at about 15 miles, I would fly across the launch range of the SAM, him launching and me evading the SAMs. The wingie got the Mav off and we nailed the SAM! WOOT. Very challenging and extremely fun. Now you just have to do the about 6 times more and your ready to start on the AAA . This mission could take all day. we had to refuel at the base on a couple of tries... not to mention that playing wild weasel is very tough until you get an idea of how far away you have to be to survive 1 to 5 missiles being launched at you.... lost more than 1 plane until i got the hang of it. -

Tried the IFR last night... very good but I couldnt get within range to fire the Mavs without getting taken out by the SA15s. Clouds kept us from attempting bomb runs. We're going to try one of us spotting and broadcasting SPIs (below the cloud layer ~ 7500' MSL) while the wingies do high altitude bombing. Not sure if broadcasting an SPI will work if the receiving wingmen have to use the SPI to drop bombs through the clouds. Anyone have any other ideas on how to get those SAMs? I get within 8.5 miles and they fire their missles... I cant get a Mav lock that far out -
hmmmm... chuck in an A-10

Oh ya thats right.... Lets make it really hard for people to get them anyway.... thanks so much DCS) -

cant download the night version cougar.... i get some russian site that wants a login that it wont take (what a surprise eh?). Great job there guys... Daytime version was no problem BTW. Any chance that you could upload it somewhere else? thanks -
Thanks for the info greb... nice mission. Are you planning on putting out a mix of SP and MP? If so, any chance you can mark them SP /MP so we know what they are for? thanks again... your missions are great. Now Im off to play your new one. Jeff

Archer... do you have all of your commands running in your stick software? If so, how do you like it? ALSO, I was wondering how X65 users have mapped their radio Hat to their sticks?
-
Its no biggie to reprogram the stick directly in the game... takes me 20 minutes or so.
-
Hey Greb... is Bombs Before Breakfast MP or single player?
-
I must admit I have grown to really like the sim. At first I was disappointed how slow the hawg is but now I am loving digging around in the dirt at low-level doing cowboy SEAD LOL.
-
Umm Greb... You Rock! Very nice missions... thank you very much and we eagerly await your next one Jeff

Ya I just got TIR... I have tried freetrack and it isnt really up to spec (neither is Face Track). I was using my POV Hat for looking around. Now its my TMS. A track IR is really expensive but it is very good. It makes the game real next level stuff. I made a couple changes shown here.
-
OK been tweaking.... I did swap the POV Hat for the bowl hat on the stick and swapped the 2 Hats on the front of the throttle which I found to be much better. I use Force setting 4 for taxi and generally Force 2 for flying. I may switch to Force 1 for run in on a target to help stabilize the stick. I have tried Force 3 for times when I need high maneuverability (like AA battles or evasion) I have also been playing with Helios (panels on another monitor) but Im not sure I want to pay $90 for it. I have mapped engine start/stop, Flaps and Gear so that frees up the "T" buttons. I am afraid to map the engine stop to the T buttons because I have seen my fingers brush up against them sometimes and I dont want to shut off an engine mid flight. I currently have the gear mapped to the "ARM" button. I am also thinking of stacking my control panels so the Panel with the buttons sits on top of the blank panel. My stick is weird BTW. the legs that hold the throttle panels dont match up so I can only install one panel, But I did notice that the two panels can be attached to each other in various configurations which is cool. Still messing with it so no final thingy yet. Thinking of mapping different views to the T buttons and Hat 4 is currently being tested for Radio functions but I dont like it.... its hard to feel the hat and I get it confused with Hat 5 a lot (which is making my TGP boresight which totally sucks). I am considering using the mode switch to map the China Hat but Im also considering mapping 1 mode to allow for mapping the emergency control panel to some of the hats.... dunno. I have been using the lower rotary for analog zoom which is a nice placement but the view sometimes jitters requiring me to touch the dial to stop it. I may try banding the rotary which isnt Ideal either. Too bad the game wont let you independantly map the mouse wheel to zoom without the ALT-C option. but then the button switching in the cockpit would be porked. Im going to try messing with the sensitivity of the rotary axis and will report back. Anyway this is what I have so far..... Let me know your thoughts.

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
jeffyd123 replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
did what you said.... ran some calculations and holy crap it works with Helios! thanks Jeff -
ya i got it today and did some minor setup and flew... more like Blew.LOL.... The twist rudder is pretty unusable but the one time i managed to get aloft and actually started flying it was starting to feel pretty dang niiiiiiice. I am experimenting with different profiles for different flight modes as well. This is a very nice piece of equipment. Pretty cool to start the engines using the T3/T4 buttons LOL. I am now seeing the game doesnt support things like gear retract on the stick (among other things) so I will have to program some things using the SST. When I get a working profile I will upload and see what others think of it. Maybe we can trade 'em and tweak.... using this post as a discussion for the best profile. Have a great Christmas boggit Jeff
