heck... remember flying falcon? You got the paint scratched by 1 bullet the engine caught fire and the wings broke off. It would be cool to have louder bullet impact sounds so as to convey to the pilot the actual damage the plane is taking. the A-10 is a pretty tough plane to be able to get home with the damage it sustains.

Dont know if you have heard this but your Pitot Heat should be turned on just before taking off so it doesnt overheat and burn up. I have had the constant tone thing happen too... I wonder if it was the Pitot heat or the slats,.... thanks Jeff

Ahhh OK thanks Winz... I stand corrected. Last time i looked at it it was software emulation.... a friend of mine tried gaming on a Mac about 5 years ago and it didnt work. another friend changed all of his office PCs to Macs about a year ago and has had "Not one single problem"...pretty impressive feat for Macs.

Hey! Its friday night and no new MP missions! LOL Lets go grebby!
-
well to keep my rant down i will say that macs can do this in VM mode but it is software rendering so its going to be slow. Its not designed to run something as demanding as a game. I dont hate Mac, I greatly admire their technical geniuses, its Jobs that I dont like. I also applaud Moa's post... very well said. Windows isnt perfect but its a real can-opener where Macs have always been narrower in their scope.

i think if i showed up on a bike the company would make the chip they implanted in my head explode
-
actually its not crap... if jobs licensed the mac OS back in 1984 we all would be on macs now.... but no, he was greedy and PCs took over. I find it funny how so many worship him as a genius.

cool more grebby missions! congrats on getting a "real" job. God I was driving to a small town today (45 miles) and just hating life LOL. I shouldnt feel that way... its really kinda cool. I see so many people in offiices all day and its like they are half dead! at least I get to listen to howard while im in the car. You should make some more MP missions and maybe join a wing... I just joined the 1st VFW and those guys are great. They also appear to have some pretty good mission makers there too. congrats again greb Jeff

Macs are not for gaming.... only for browsing the web at your local latte' shop. They had their time and chance to make their computers viable and Steve Jobs blew it. The only reason Apple is still in business is Apple's Genius engineers creating the Iphone/Ipod. Now that Apple has crawled back from the 1% market share they had Steve Jobs has to do what he has always done and prove he is Apple's biggest enemy by saying "Let's do away with Flash". What a dufus.... BTW I used to own a Mac and was a fanboy of theirs. Now that I said my rant about them... Macs are nice computers.... Its just Steve Jobs that I dont like. He is greedy and if he had his way, we would pay for every single 60Kilobyte app that we use and all of our computers would cost $4,000. I guarantee that if he didnt put his Leechy claws into Woz back in the day old Steve would be working at some ad agency selling soap or cars.

yup, thats what i did. I can still zomm a bit with my TIR but I use my rotary dial on my stick to perform analog zoom in the pit.

Its Official.... The Next DCS plane will be the T-38!
-
Its a good job but I dont like that they implanted a mind control/tracking chip in my brain.
-
hmmmm.... I dont have a .trk file for my SP missions... only MP. thats weird. Ill try it again soon. Im getting ready to join the 1st VFW so I gotta red up for them.

OK I got streets version3 B-4... downloaded 2 days ago after you said you fixed it. I flew them precisely but my TOT and likely my altitude were off... I dont know if that would do it. I didnt see or hear anything after the Left hander (next to the bullseye) which i beleive is WP 3. Ya I just got hired at Banctec and then Qualx bought them a month later. Worked out great for me as my route had me racking up the miles in Pittsburgh... over 1,000 miles a week! The pay is pretty bad but working for Unisys would be the worst @ $16.00 a call which is an outrage. at least at World Wide i get $29.00 (as a part timer) which is fair enough. Sucks that they trashed all you guys... If you want I can see if they would want to hire you as a part timer like me. They prefer to use QSPs (part timers) than contractors most of the time. Your experience would make you instantly qualified Im sure.

I tried again last night (streets of fire) and still no bombers or F-15s. I followed the waypoints precisely but my Time Time on Target was -16:15 (+- 10 minutes or so). I dont know if this will throw off the triggers or not. I arrived on station at the orbit WP (made sure it auto-advanced to the target 1 WP), circled for about 35 minutes , tried the radios, nada. I watched the replay and noticed the F-15s and B-52s disappear soon after takeoff. I dont know what Im doing wrong... thinking maybe its my TOT. Im not sure how to read that info... meaning if a negative time means Im early or late (Im guessing early) Hey by the way... You may want to have your company call World Wide for Dell work. The company does 10,000 jobs a day nationwide and they very well may take on your company as a contractor. thats what they did in Bend before I came out here. not sure if you've heard of WorldWide before... used to be called QualxServe. Let me know if you need contact info... My brother drives trucks and hates going back on the road LOL. Hell I drive a nice comfy car all day and I hate driving! Jeff

Ahhh thats what i was doing wrong then greb... thanks

tried streets of fire.... circled about 15 - 20 miles from the convoy, looking for the SAMs. None of the other planes ever came in... I waited about 40 minutes. I launched on the SAM, destroyed it and was promptly attacked by Mig29s and me and the wingie were blown out of the sky within 3 minutes. This scenario happened twice. Am I doing something wrong? I tried calling the B52s and F15s but no answer. thanks Jeff

I feel the hardest programming in the world today is making these flight sims... Its fairly amazing they run at all... Great Job ED! and hats off to your genius code monkeys!
-
Greb... Do you work For World Wide? I do... Its slow where I moved to (Bend, Oregon). I was living in Pittsburgh before and was busy as hell but it drove me to the brink of insanity, LOL.
-
"Why can't you be like a normal man and go to bars, get drunk and cheat on me"!!!!! The girls are never happy, they love the drama and they hate video games (unless its the Sims because "that game makes sense") Lovin the sim ED.... really fun digging in the mud and evaporating enemy units with the avenger.
-
Great guys thanks. Ill do that. I took your mission and added MP to it already. Gotta tweak it some more because the 2 flights i made have no weps when they start. sure is hard to find them suckers when they're hiding in the dark.
-
hey thanks Geskes... gave it a try and its pretty tough. Are there any radio freqs for this mission? thanks Jeff
-
How do you save the missions from the auto generator? thats a great idea... some of the best missions I have tried have been from that. I would like to see if they can be reworked for MP use too. Thanks Jeff

well we played the mission for a good 4 hours last night and it is definitely tough. We finally cleared the Sams and then were able to bomb the rest. I would have to conclude that the A10 is no match for SA-15s. They are just to fast and climb too high for the hawg to effectively evade. They can be evaded but the parameters have to be right and you really need to see where they are coming from. being at 24,000MSL helps too. Im glad you put SA-9s in the revision cougar. another very fun mission... Should call it Bagdad 2.0....keep 'em coming buddy. -

Well we found several of them and they are all around the outer perimeter of the base as well as in the surrounding countryside.. REEEAAALLLY hard to find. We gave up on the night IFR mission for now... just playing daytime VFR. We got one of them by me acting as a wild weasel... flying around 19,000, when the SA-15 shows in the HUD, quickly turn 90 degrees (beaming the target) and wait for a launch. Try to see where the launches come from. Next we found the launcher and shared the SPI. Once my wingie had lock at about 15 miles, I would fly across the launch range of the SAM, him launching and me evading the SAMs. The wingie got the Mav off and we nailed the SAM! WOOT. Very challenging and extremely fun. Now you just have to do the about 6 times more and your ready to start on the AAA . This mission could take all day. we had to refuel at the base on a couple of tries... not to mention that playing wild weasel is very tough until you get an idea of how far away you have to be to survive 1 to 5 missiles being launched at you.... lost more than 1 plane until i got the hang of it.
