  1. Don't worry, you wont have to wait long until it's relevant again.
  2. It'll take a brave man with a huge stick to get me out of my Hind, and I am now starting to get a feel for the mission editor and I want to make more single player missions. However, my last mission was deemed "political" and I really have no desire to go and fix it as I was offered zero guidance by the moderator that denied it being published. This question is for the mods, am I able to paste WIP mission briefings and images here in order to get approval before I upload to publish? I really want to support this module but the kick in the teeth I received left a bitter iron taste in my mouth, I'd really like to avoid that going forward. Thanks in advance.
  3. Right, now things have calmed down a bit and I've had time to do a little research into the F-35, the simulator cockpit and the helmet I do have several questions for ED, to be clear, I am genuinely interested in the points I'm going to raise so please do not take this as an attack on ED. The simulator cockpit has been cited as a source for development and I've seen the images, but the real cockpit is still classified, how accurate is the sim cockpit and will ED have access to the sim for photogrammetry work? The helmet is also classified and for me is now the biggest concern in how big the "fudge" factor will have to be, it's a $400,000 unit that requires a bespoke fit for each pilot. They are reevaluated for fitting every 120 days and a brand new helmet is required if the pilot so much as changes their hairstyle. This suggest to me there is tech involved that requires micron level precision which is fascinating, this suggests some kind of 3D or holographic technology could be involved, I've been thinking about what else would require that level of accuracy and I'm left scratching my head. How will ED address the lack of data on the helmet which seems like a fully integrated component of the systems themselves?
  4. If they downgrade fidelity they need to downgrade their prices too.
  5. If they're going to "downgrade" accuracy, upgrade the flipping Hind to the 35 and give us some sodding parity, this creates a greater imbalance when we need more redfor modules. I will not be supporting this module.
  6. As we're getting a full fidelity Mig-29 this makes sense, which is more than I can say for the waste of space F-35A.
  7. Yeh I found it, this has to be the single most pointless module ED has ever committed to, hence my disbelief, oh well.
  8. Utterly pointless, not interested.
  9. Yup I see the F-35A in the module list, it just didn't look chubby enough in the video, meh, not interested anyway.
  10. Yeh I checked some images of the 22 and 35, that's way too streamlined to be the chubby 35.
  11. No the ICS works on the ground and in the air, so they've doubled up comms for on the ground, it's stupid. Just have one bind called ICS/comms menu.
  12. it doesnt work om keyboard either. Right so after some buggering around I found that the ICS trigger brings up the comms menu before and after take-off, this is seriously stupid and unintuitive especially considering we still don't have a sodding manual! ED needs to fix this it's idiotic.
  13. I just tested this in both easy communications mode and regular, my comms menu works fine before takeoff but stops working once airborne, if I land again I get access to the menu again. That can't be right surely?
  14. Well this is interesting, I thought we couldn't talk about anything not related to DCS and it's modules even in Chit Chat?
  15. The clue is in the name, DCS, they simulate combat, so don't expect to not have conflict with the community. I'm starting to think the mods are actually bots as the responses are so robotic. BN isn't a real human IMHO, and no I'm not joking.
  16. Apparently I'm wrong and it was an internal error, this I have to hear.
  17. Has everyone been living under a rock for the past 10 months?
  18. Head NNW into the hills from Chagcharan there are plenty of opportunities for insurgency missions, I've included a Taliban heat map for inspiration. Jon Anders also has many Kiowa videos on YT showing long routes with no breaks in quality. I highly recommend flying at sunrise or sunset to fully appreciate the new depth map that gives life to fields even at a few hundred feet. And explore the hills, for some reason ED chose to do a lot of work in some of those areas. Routes NNW out of Kandahar airport at low level taken over the western most hillock are fantastic, head straight through Kandahar and head west out of the city there's plenty done there too. Tarinkot to Deh Rawud is pretty much done all the way , Qala i Naw has some amazing work done around the area, which is much further north than I expected to find any work done. And for everyone pointing out all the flaws which you are more than welcome to do, are not mentioning the insane amount of detail and ground clutter in urban areas which are going to make life way more difficult and realistic for Helos. The glass of milk can be half full, or it can be half empty, please try not to consider the milk sour.
  19. I fly helos, the parts of Afghanistan that are done are head and shoulders above Syria, I'm not focused on what's unfinished.
  20. Very frustrating watching poorly placed trees stop large planes form taxiing to runway.
  21. I pre-purchased the SW portion just because it was coming first and it was an opportunity to test drive it for system performance testing as I don't have a high end rig. I'm all in on this map now and will gladly purchase the full map if there is a suitable discount applied for those who already purchased the SW. I remember Wags mentioning this in the interview, I have more money to give once that's the case.
  22. I've been enjoying the map immensely at low altitude in the Hind, Kiowa and Gazelle, there are plenty of fully finished areas and it looks great, not denying there's some eye gougingly bad guide textures and even faceted airfields, but what has been buffed and polished is top drawer, I'm already well into developing an insurgent mission up in the hills, performance has been great in all air platforms thus far. I followed Jon Anders' routes in his Kiowa videos, link below. https://www.youtube.com/@AiuRkx
  23. It's the heliwhopper with dual rotors and a foreign sounding name from my childhood, I would have lost my mind if I'd ever got one as a model as a kid, so getting to fly an authentic simulation of one is something I would never of dreamed of.
