Agreed. AMD users seem to get the shaft in DCS. Shimmering and aliasing is terrible. Seemed to get worse sometime last year after one of the updates. MSAA does very little, if anything, to help.

Believe most are experiencing this. Very frustrating. Makes it impossible to land. Also noticed, laser mavericks lose lock when this happens at an airfield you are trying to clear.

People should give episode 22 of the Mover and Gonky show a listen in which Wags was a guest and hear his take on developing an F35 module. He makes a series of comments. That episode aired Nov of 23. Interesting ED claims to be working on this for 2 years. Have a feeling Wags got sand bagged with this module and is prob not very happy either. Personally Im not irked as much by the module itself, but the dishonesty surrounding its projected fidelity.

I typically come to ED's defense when they get crapped on, but putting out this half baked module is shocking. So much for all that passion for accurate modeling that gets preached around here. What a joke.

Im experiencing the same in all of the 4YA servers like Eggcake with identical symptoms. Its almost always at an airbase. Makes it impossible to land. Starts happening a couple hours into a session.

Lower gear and flaps during turn to final to avoid balloning. Or just dirty up closer to 160 knots on a straight in.

Another finding targets using target waypoint question.

To make your life easier, just use waypoint designate. Puts your flir pod on the target vacinity, and also gives you the diamond symbology in the hud, hmd, and flir. Makes designating targets alot easier. Once the pod is looking where it needs to, you undesignate and use your tdc. -
Another finding targets using target waypoint question.
Leva80 replied to Nialfb's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
The waypoint triangle has nothing to do with targeting. Just shows you the position of the waypoint coordinates on the flir pod. If one of your jdams is not hitting, then it does not have the right cordinates for your intended target. -
Just fly the numbers. You are probably high in the final and compensating with rate of decent. I think some hear the saying, the hornets landing is a controlled crash, and take it too literally. Obviously you do not have as much latitude trapping on the boat, but i have landed on airfields 40k without issue flaring.

To be transparent, i play in 2D with no mods minus reshade, so those are definitely variables that can result in a different experience. I can definitely understand the frustrations the vr guys feel. Seems that group spends more time tweaking settings then playing.

I believe if "most" were having these described issues, this forum would meltdown. Just look at the outcry when part of the Sinai map was deleted, and rightfully so. The thread has been since deleted, but the replies were enormous. No doubt a number of people are having issues and ED is not perfect, but making a generalization like that is a bit careless imo.

Agreed, the hornets radar has definitely degraded since the last update. Very challenging to be effective in any engagement scenario. Even basic intercepts on a tanker have become a chore because of constantly loosing lock. Most frustrating is the hmd's inability to lock targets.
-
Im sypathetic to the users that are experiencing issues, but using the word "most" is not fair. Those threads consist of a handful of total dcs players. All the players i know, including myself have been playing for years and have not experienced any of these performance issues.

I can also attest to this. Locking up/keeping lock on targets has become harder in the hornet lately accross the board in all modes regardless of aspect angle. Especially frustrating trying to use the hmd to lock up and get a follow up shot when a target gets close after defeating first posturing missile. Seems to be the case after the latest major update.
