LawnDart replied to LawnDart's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thanks for the tip, it's fixed now! Be sure to check out our image gallery in the Artwork - Virtual Reality folder! You'll definitely don't want to miss that and we're still adding more... LD -
Version two of our website is coming online as we speak. We are pleased to present the same level of excellence with our new site as with the rest of our squad and hope that you all enjoy the new Home of the Virtual Thunderbirds! http://www.virtualthunderbirds.com Many thanks to Cinch who made the re-design! Sleek, We do have a video for download (and I see you found it). :) The video is from November of '04 and nowhere near the quality and precision of the video we're currently working on! The screenshots are from practices and recordings of this new video. We hope to have it done and released this fall! To the rest of you, thank you for your comments! We appreciate it! LawnDart

Visit our gallery at gallery.virtualthunderbirds.com for some new additions under "Showtime". As some of you might know, we've been recording for a new video and these shots are just a glimpse of what you'll get to see eventually! Also be sure to visit our site at virtualthunderbirds.com. LawnDart

How about you tell everyone how you saved it too! -
VFTC: the new video, the new gallery!
LawnDart replied to Искатель, 128's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
So, it should also be worth mentioning, they have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours more practicing this! We know... -
Here's a link to stream the Military Channel's presentation of the Thunderbirds (formely known as Discovery Wings Channel). All 50 minutes and 43 seconds of it. Anyone interested in the Thunderbirds or airshows in general should definitely watch this! If this gets you pumped, come check us out too at the Virtual Thunderbirds, since almost all our flying is based on real world paramters and procedures. Enjoy the show! VFTC: the new video, the new gallery!
LawnDart replied to Искатель, 128's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Outstanding! Enjoyed the editing, syncronized flying and dicipline you guys have... and of course formation aerobatics! LawnDart P.S. Is it just me or was some of that fotage shown in one of your previous movies as well? Regardless, you guys are definitely setting the standard for what's possible in the sim community! Keep it up! -
...or you can use LoMan 2.1 with the FC fix. You can grab both files from our website.

ED - Give us smokes control
LawnDart replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Although I agree that Lock-On is and will be a combat sim first and foremost, the request is not "off the wall"! Formation flying is definitely a lot harder and just as gratifying as flying combat is while and taking a bandit out in a gunzo fight. The latter I don't even do anymore, since I spend all my time doing formation work and precision flying routines. Being an old-school F4 fan and jet jock, I do like my combat sims and I understand that implementing additional smoke systems sort of falls on the back burner when it comes to priorities... My point is, while I'm personally satisfied with the current smoke in Lock-On 1.1, it would be a nice touch to see more features added for the ever increasing number of aerobatic teams and people showing such great interest in this type of use with Lock-On! Most of these features are extremely easy to implement compared to fixing some of the various bugs with avionics, weapon geometry etc etc... My two cents... LawnDart -
The stock Cougar is definitely good enough to beat any other joystick hands down! The one thing that will go bad (either soon, very soon or if you're lucky, not so soon) are the pots. As soon as you have the stick, register at Thrustmaster and regardless whether your pots work or not order spare ones!!! It will take TM an eternity to send them to you, so by the time you get them you might already need them. If you later on decide to spend yet another fortune on modding the stick, you won't be disappointed. I've put in half a computer (in amount of $$) into my Cougar and it's the best experience flying with it! Almost beats my real job of flying... Only secret to becoming an uber-pilot = lots and lots of practice! Ask any of the Virtual Thunderbirds and we can all say, that it didn't happen over night... There are several good setup files at Cougar World if you don't want to program the Cougar yourself, but use someone else's profile. Although, I think it's worth it in the end to do it yourself and have a custom made, tailored HOTAS that suits you're style the way you want it! Best piece of advice for programming (aside from learning Foxy of course), is don't think in terms of that the button has to represent the real counterpart. You'd short yourself a tremendous amount of programmability if only using each button for its real life usage, but also keep in mind the sims limitations and be sure to map many "view changing keys", "zoom" and things like "padlock" along with all the other stuff. Then it's just matter of finding the buttons to use for what depending on how easy it is to reach and how intuitive it seems as you're in the regime of flight where you need to use a certain button. Welcome to the Cougar Club! You won't regret it, even if you keep the stock gimbals (just be sure to "pre-order" spare parts), but if you choose to spend more this stick has potential like no other stick, trust me! LawnDart

Nicely done ruggbutt! Your movie makes me wish so bad we had a flyable F-16 in Lock-On... Enjoyed it! LawnDart

FLy aerobatics with IAT Team
LawnDart replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I applaud the IAT and zaGURUinzaSKY for their open house offer and anyone interested in formation aerobatics should definitely take them up on their offer! Great way to learn, get hooked and realize how much effort formation flying takes or just get a glimpse of what they do. Keep it up zaGURUinzaSKY! LawnDart P.S. When are you (IAT) going over to 1.1? -
We have a new flash image gallery on our site! It's located in the Image section of the Library. Take a look (it's still beta as we're making some adjustments to it). Now, doesn't this just make you want to fly!? Go to the Virtual Thunderbirds homepage . As long as you have a 24Kb/s download or better (high-speed) you'll also get to listen to some music as you browse our pics! The FAQs are also updated and now located in the Library as well. We are accepting apps for tryouts still and this link will take you to our forum, where you can sign up to tryout. Sign up here! LawnDart

Thanks for listening ED! Looking forward to the next set of updates, but in the mean time this is all we needed. Thanks again!

Great news!!! I hope the short fixes include the network stuttering issue! Hmmmm...

LOL! :D True, true!

Why is it so difficult to find information about what's going on with FC... 1. So, the CD has shipped out to its vendors now? 2. Are there a few fixes (patch) on these new CD's? 3. There will be a major patch in June I assume... (note: that's only a few weeks away). 4. And there will be a small patch within a few days (what does that address that can't wait until June if so)? I'm starving for information here. Keep your customers in the loop! It's already too late to salvage the wreckage from the release, but many frustrated simmers are still supporting ED. Although, ED seriously needs to put their customers higher on their priority list...

Changing start time in a mission?
LawnDart replied to LawnDart's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thanks! Can't believe I overlooked that... :icon_redf -
So, what's the word on LOMAN? Is it history?
-
Is there any way to change the start time in a mission already created (for example from 19:00 to 11:00 instead) without having to create a new one from scratch?
